Who is right? Who is wrong? I hope we find out tomorrow!!!! I've lost track of what the predictions are. I will hereby predict that Michael Gamble will announce he is the great great great great great grandfather of Conrad Verner. So Gamble is keeping his attendance at Montreal Comic Con a secret?

tbh that's all any of us can ask for is that they learn from the mistakes that were made. Also tbh I think it showed what a talented studio they are though in that they were still able to put as good a game in general that MEA was together in such a short time so they can take that as a positive. Granted there were still issues with it but that's more down I think in that they simply weren't given the time to fix them and polish everything up. But yeah had they been more realistic about what they could achieve from the get go I think they could have easily had a game of the year on their hands just like with DAI. Unfortunately what's done is done though but I hope for their sake they're given a chance to recover and try again eventually. Because despite the mess it was in development I think MEA has turned out to be a half decent game I am glad that I am not the only one who sees the potential in the studio. Without the time they put into this procedurally generated planets they basically had a development cicle of 2 years. That's the ME3 development time right there, a game developed by Bioware's flagship studio, and it beat that game in a lot of areas, particulatly the ending, combat, and the level design for the last mission. Not to mention that they had to port all the assets to Frostbite, unlike the OT which was all on Unreal Engine, and besides all the challenges they actually delivered a good product. It's a shame the hate train was all set on demolishing Mass Effect... From EA's financial standpoint I think it is reasonable to give them another shot with maybe more supervision from Edmonton. The alternative is leaving them again as a support studio, and I am pretty sure they get a lot more money with a fresh game than letting them do patches or DLC's for other games. So there's that...

I will be happy if there is at least one hint DLC is coming... My guess? The "hint" will continue to be the narrative of, "we can't talk about it, but when we can, we will". The description of the panel doesn't suggest a tease of any kind. I think the panel description would've hinted as such so they get butts in the seats. Though, personally I think hearing (if there being truthful) it from the horses mouth will be fascinating.

Montreal comic con after ME3 wasn't also direct related to DLC but that din't stop bioware from bringing a teaser (a picture of Shepard in Omega DLC).

I think it's safe to say the game didn't fail. As of April, and I know that going back a bit, it was the 5th highest selling game of the year. RE7 was the 6th, the difference being that the sales data at that time for RE7 was a known quantity, 3.5 million. Let people keep saying the game failed. It doesn't matter. They look foolish when a very basic search could show them it's actual performance. It's interesting how you are willing to accept NPD numbers when they are in your favour but shun them when they are not. Nevertheless - if Andromeda outsold RE7 with say - 3.5-4m, yet was expected to sell 3m in its first week (needing over a month to reach the expected mark), what does that say about sales moving forwards since according to NPD charting, Andromeda sank out of the top 20 games for June after coming in 15th for May? Again, going by its previous sales pace, according to NPD data, Andromeda has probably stalled out around 4m. That's if we agree to accept NPD data. At this point, someone will bring up digital sales and the argument will continue. My sole point is that a game can sell poorly yet still result in EA being happy with the result because there's no way they didn't know that Andromedas release quality was in the shitter. That is better NPD charting than ME3 did. Which was better than ME2 etc. Tell me again how it proves MEA is a failure sales wise?

No longer barred from changing engine's codes, like they were with Unreal engine which neither BioWare nor EA owned.

Now once those tools are in place the game development cycle becomes way more streamlined.

Yet BW Montreal didn't used their dev tools, primary because Mass Effect type of RPG is very different from Dragon Age type of RPG. DA team is likely gonna expand on already existing dev tools they made, while perhaps take some things from ME:A team. It will be interesting to hear how they'll develop DA4, for certain.

Yea, personally I'm glad (if true) it got cut. MEA it felt intimidating after rescuing the Moshae, when everything opened up. It would have just been DAI where a majority of the content could have been cut, in favor I felt MEA benefitted for better focused quests then say-close 75 fade rifts in the game.

I'd like to see them add a number of small, unusual planets to explore like H-074c, that broken planet. That was my favourite, as it felt like I was exploring another world, rather than exploring a desert on earth.

That was my favourite, as it felt like I was exploring another world, rather than exploring a desert on earth. That could work. Design a water world, give it small exploreable islands or something. H-074c itself was a fairly substantial map. Not much opportunity to get out of the Nomad, but it was still pretty big.

Tomorrow the truth shall be revealed! Or not. My thoughts exactly. EA will speak when EA is ready. That is the only thing I don't have to speculate about.

I'd like to see them add a number of small, unusual planets to explore like H-074c, that broken planet. That was my favourite, as it felt like I was exploring another world, rather than exploring a desert on earth. Yea the anti-gravity thing was cool, though the awkward laughter took the "wow, this is cool" look off of my face rather quickly.
