I think there is a thing as bad writing people just confused it with writing they don't like. Like how people think Ryder is a poorly written character when he/she isn't they just a character they don't like Ryder as a character (in some cases compared to Shepard). Or how people thought Viv was badly written in DAI. I hate Viv like everyone else but she isn't a badly written character she is a good written character but I personally don't like the character

It has nothing to do with the Quarian Ark however. This apparently has to do with a new race called the Eealen. They appear to be a vassal race of the kett which escaped and now has new information about exaltation.
