since i still play Horizon Zero Dawn i have another question for you'll what is your choice with Olin do you spare him or do you kill him ? I deliberated a while. First urge was to kill, then I backed off, and then didn't kill. Next time I play, I'll kill. After going through it both ways, I will probably default one way or the other. He's smart, he shoved his head in the sand, but he knew what he was doing couldn't have been used for anything good. He isn't a hero.

I have to say that i'm a little disappointed in The Frozen Wilds new armor number two and four are just plain ugly to look at but that's my opinion of course. And number three is a lookalike that leaves us with the number one and five they are the same with just two minor differences. So thoughts anyone ?

Tbh, I don't really bother that much with armour. I'm struggling to even pick out the one she wears, and has done since I got it, in my second playthrough. Its the chieftain one with auto-healing. I just switch out the mods if I need to. I can't be arsed to keep faffing about switching the actual gear, its bad enough keeping on top of the weapons loadout. Maybe that would have been a nice option, having a second wheel where you can switch armour loadout... As an aside, I got one of these cute little fellas to keep me company on my workdesk, He joins a mini ME3 manshep, Cayde (destiny), Doctor Cockroach (Monster vs Aliens), Alcatraz (Crysis 2) and Postman Pat (couldn't bear to see the jolly man go in the bin after my kids had a toy clearout). It looks funny as they're all different sizes, posing under my monitor

Once I got the Shield Generator Armor, I just never bothered with anything else. Before that I just used Nora Brave Light/Medium/Heavy. As said above, keeping track of the weapons alone was a chore, I wasn't about to do all that for armor too, even more so due to a lack of a wheel. I just picked a type and stuck with it.

I was going to get the Carja Blazon Master armor, but then I noticed that Aloy's torso looks noticeably different here than it does in the regular one from the base game. Basically, this is a copy/paste of Telanah's body model. Armor variety is probably my least favorite thing about this game. For the most part, I basically just stick to the Nora Brave and deal with the lack of multiple mod support, or the basic Carja Blazon just for appearance's sake when roaming about the Sundom. For every major story point, I tend to stick with Nora Brave, because cutscenes will default to that armor most of the time.

My art book just arrived from Amazon, and it's better than I'd hoped. It's amazing how well the concept art translated into the final product.

I love the new outfits from TFW. Numbers 4 and 5 in the pic are my default/go-to outfits. Number 3 gets heavy use in the Sundom, 2 is donned while fighting frost-based enemies like glinthawks. (I also like that it actually has gloves. It's real cold weather gear.) The Shieldweaver is nearly useless on Very Hard and Ultra, so I only use if and when I might drop from a height. The specific damage reductions offered by mods and armor traits are much more powerful than the SW's hardlight shield.*
You guys do know that you can disable the masks/helmets, right? I typically do. I've talked to a few people over the last year who overlooked this entirely, so I thought I'd mention it.
* Earlier in this thread, you can find posts from me regarding initial thoughts on TFW. I kept saying I thought they might've gone too far with the difficulty increase. (My first PT was VH. The second UH.) It ended up being that none of my weapon and armor mods had been functional since June 2017. Since I'd not been playing, I'd never noticed. That's why the game felt so difficult. It did have the benefit of making me Git even more Gud. When they fixed the mods bug, UH felt like Normal, cakewalk difficulty.
Regarding mod usage, it's worth noting where the resistance cap falls with each damage type or stealth boost. It's easy to run into the cap with 2 mod slots remaining (assuming Adept tier gear.) Basically, diversification is almost mandated. Stealth and melee mods are probably the most universally beneficial, but all have their benefits, since different elements are constantly encountered. Those super-mods in TFW are great! A couple of those turns nearly any outfit into a good all-rounder, and a specialized outfit into armor.

I knew about the hide helmet thing, but because of the occasional cutscene switch, I generally just alternate between 2, the Carja Blazon once in a while, and back to Nora Brave since that seems to be the default for major cutscenes. This takes me back to Mass Effect 1, where I'd just roll the Onyx armor the whole way through because I felt it was the one Shepard should be wearing, stats be damned Regarding TFW, I was surprised when the shield weave began beeping and stopped protecting Aloy, only to find out those stupid giant robo-palm trees of doom were overloading it.

It's good that we all have different tastes when it comes to armor because you love the new outfits and as i said before the number two and four nope don't like them at all haha. But the number one and five i do like very much even the headpiece from number five i like. I also like the number three but it's just not new enough. And yes i know you can disable the helmets but i have to admit that it was not so long ago that i actually know about this feature.

Thanks, MrsFlyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyingKebab. I never received my platinum theme. I'll check out this new stuff! How do you ladies and gents like the face paints? I think they're really cool. Same for the alternate focus appearances. Naturally, most of the coolest are earned via Ultra Hard. I think they're fun cosmetic rewards. I change my outfits and face paints like a fashion conscious teen!

That's just a Horus. I'd not be surprised if they wanted to find a way to have us "fight" one, but it's definitely not a new machine. I'm trying to imagine a multi-staged battle against a Horus. We were intended to fight the Reaper on Tuchanka in ME3, but they couldn't get it to work properly for PS3. (That thing was apparently very difficult to adapt to in terms of programming.) I had read a dev's description of some of the sequences before release, so I was disappointed by Tuchanka's simplicity in the final form. That's why they have to be careful sharing too much!

After listening to the Grave Hoard audio logs, it's hard to imagine battling a mountain-crawling, bunker-busting tentacle killbot that can reproduce more robots like a giant guppy of doom. I mean, poor Yana was standing next to tanks with a railgun in her hands. Thinking about this, I wish there was some datapoint somewhere out in the world where there was some kind of tech article or blog criticizing the very existence of the Horus. You just know that if such a thing existed in reality, there would be people freaked out at the idea of a gargantuan death monster that can crack a mountain open like a walnut. I'm really anxious to see where they go with this post-credit scene.

I'm really anxious to see where they go with this post-credit scene. Exactly! That’s why I said I think they’d like to think of some way to involve one. It’s easier said than done. At least they seem to be hulking ruins, for the most part. Bringing down an avalanche or rockslide on an already half-buried Horus could be cool. Maybe Scarabs are crawling out of it the whole time? That could be intense but doable. It would be cool to bring some overridden machines to bear against the Faro bots. I know that sounds like exactly the wrong thing to do, and it probably is. I still just like the idea of bombarding a half-buried Horus from a distance with Thunderjaws and Stormbirds. We did see Sylens take out three Scarabs with overridden Ravagers, so who knows? The co-opted override programming may be able to resist Faro bots. Further lore parameters are sure to be established in the future.

You call that "just a Horus" i think i'm with KaiserShep on this one that it is a "mountain crawling bunker busting tentacle killbot" haha. And well they have come a long way since 2012 with ME3 so i think they can make it work properly for the next HZD. Somehow i have the feeling that those drones you see in The Frozen Wilds could be a potential ally defeating that Horus they look very much intact apart of some parts they miss but i'm probably wrong assuming that.

I'm not so sure it would go out well to continue focus on the Faro robots. I think the Titans are best left as inert husks as an ominous reminder of the past than a new enemy. Besides, there's still the Forbidden West, which apparently have worse machines than whatever we've encountered in the Sundom. I'd like to see what kind of civilization sprouts up in that sort of environment, and whether or not there's societies more advanced than the Carja (preferably more so).
