Apple and Google have both individually announced upcoming changes designed to combat online pop-up ads, banner ads, and the automatic playing of flash videos.
Safari and Chrome's next editions will both default to security settings that block banner ads and pop-ups, as well as disabling flash by default.
Apple has stated intentions to move almost entirely to a subscription revenue model, rather than advertising, and Google has announced plans to shift even more of its revenue to search related functions instead of advertising.
All of this is in development, but with Apple and Google largely united on the approach, and covering 90% of their respective markets, it seems probable that advertising revenue for websites will be impacted quite a bit, with sites like Proboards likely facing a lot of potential changes as a result.
Not a "suggestion" per se, more of a heads up that changes that may affect us here on the site are likely coming.

Google also changed how it indexes searches. It searches mobile first, so if your site isn't optimized you'll see a decline in your viewership. That being said, this is the biggest watering-hole in the ME Franchise desert so regardless it won't change much, but it's a bit of a shift. I know my own personal job has been impacted significantly
