I'll say this, in spite of all the shit they pulled with the stupid weapon variants and loot pool dilution, I'm excited for platinum. So, credit where it's due, thanks biower.

I PUGed it two times. We wiped on the first on wave 4 targets. Did it on the second try on Zero, time was 24 mins. IMO infiltrator is a must (atm), and SB and SD are extremely useful. Also it is insane to argue that it is not more difficult than gold. You can get 2 destroyers, a hydra and 2 kro bros/2 obervers chasing you. That is an insane hitpoint/DPS squad that you will never see on gold. On top of that hydras run like a spriter. Of course, 1337 players are 1337 and they will brag how easy this and that but for the average joe it will be lot more challenging.

Will try Krogan Vanguard soon Try it if you wanna be on the floor all the time. Playable. Second scorer. Used all health regeneration but didn't die at all except on upload when tried to get as much attention as possible outside the circle. There are quite a lot of killable enemies for Krogan, but Bersekers probably require 10 melee hits to kill and my Krogan Vanguard is full melee build with gold melee boost. When it's like 4th kill in a row on rage then a dogs full health is one hit. Barely.

Just completed the Go for the Eyes Platinum, enemies honestly don't really feel that much stronger. Actually used less consumables than I do playing Gold, we full extracted and we did it in like 17-18 minutes.(couldn't of been that drawn out as our top scorer only had 27K) and we had no Infiltrators, with Retrieval, Devices, and Upload.
Comp was 2 Human Engineers
1 Salarian Operator
1 Turian Soldier

I guess most of you play with match modifiers. That explains your recent successes.
Have anyone tried playing with Asari adept? She does more damage thanks to Veteran bonus, but can she even take a bullet without dying?

PUG'd it on Zero, got lucky with objectives with retrievals and devices as an Infiltrator 18 (fuck the roman numerals) and another 20,000 Apex player.
No question it's more of a challenge right now, but with better gear, the difficulty curve will flatten out.
It honestly feels like Kett when the game first launched, and our powers were crap, Kett weren't nerfed yet, guns were terrible and a wave 6 upload was impossible against them. Eventually Bioware adjusted it, but at the same time, people learned how to deal with the difficulty.
My guess is that the veteran bonuses though are going to receive a buff in the future.

They need to completely rework it on a class by class basis, I think its completely lazy that every single class's veteran bonuses are exactly the f***ing same. Every one I have past X right now (which is like 20 classes ATM) all have Power Damage/Combo Damage/Melee Damage as there bonuses, how stupid is that? Soldiers= Weapon Damage/ Damage Resistance(could be health/shields)/ Power Cell Capacity (or Power Damage) Engineers= Power/Construct Damage/ Shields/Shield Recharge Delay/ Power Recharge Sentinels= Power Damage (or Power Recharge)/ Damage Resistance/ Combo Damage Infiltrators= Weapon Damage/ Weak Spot Damage/ Melee Damage Vanguards= Weapon Damage/ Melee Damage/ Power Damage Adepts= Power Damage/Power Recharge/ Combo Damage How hard was that? Literally thought of this sh** on the fly as I was typing it. These bonuses depending on the character or class are much more beneficial than the cookie cutter BS everyone having the same bonuses we have now.

Anyone try Barricade with 6(whatever) Electric Defense? I am curious if it's still useful? Or too many bosses plowing it down? Agree with Dariat. I was the only non-cloak character on the team, and it was helpful. That said, it felt like the krogan quadruplets had their stun times decreased, it felt truly relentless at times.

The reason there are no Weapon damage bonuses in Veteran is because the 3 new Weapon Variants can also go to X, and they're pretty significant (Concussive II does over 700 points of area damage on headshot kill).

No one said the bonuses had to be the same percentages, when and if they rework these stats they can make some things a 1% bonus for all I care if it benefits the character more than the current stuff. Ex= Shield Recharge Delay 2.5% per rank Weapon Damage 1% per Rank Weak Spot Damage 2.5% per rank Cause right now who the f*** needs melee damage? Vanguards and Krogan that's it, maybe MAYBE to some extent Infiltrators.

Success on my 7th attempt ... but only because I had devices and retrieval. You can't F***ING DEFEND hacking/ upload zones with high speed purple Destroyers, Hydras and Observers hoarding all over the place. Screw this, I'm going back to Gold.

Yeah, it's brutal. Got annihilated in wave 2. Didn't help that there was a connection issue with the host and before I knew it I was F'ing soloing the 1st wave. I wasn't expecting 30 Observers mixed with dozens of those damn dogs chomping on me. Maybe level 20 characters isn't such a bad idea. Still, I'm glad they added God-tier difficulty...gives me something to aspire to. I think I'll grind a bit in gold before reattempting.

Finished the APEX on the first attempt with t3 boosters. Could tell I had a good team in the lobby so was feeling pretty confident. Had 0 problems but everyone was competent + ideal mission modifier. Smoked the upload wave.
Honestly, the hardest wave was probably the first just cause I needed to recalibrate to the faster pace/mixed waves.

I don't know. I see BSN (current and old forums) complain about PUGs all the time. I've hardly ever had any problem with PUGs in neither ME3 nor MEA. Could it be regional? Maybe people should up their own game instead of blaming PUGs. I do admit there are some awful PUG players out there, but it isn't to the degree that I've seen people complain about. Maybe 1 bad PUG game in 100. I don't know, when I see people complain about PUGs, I automatically assume they're one of the bad PUG players. The PUGs in MEA is a lot better than what it was in ME3 by a long shot. PUGs now are willing to use medigel in MEA. When I was still playing, if I saw that minimum level of effort, then I was happy. I didn't mind carrying a little if everyone pitched in with effort. I've seen a lot of posting "good" players who only play with other "good" players and then struggle with PUGs and come complain about it on BSN. That's not my definition of a good player. A good player should do well with their friends, PUGs, or solo.

A few things. So far, got 100% extraction rate on plat, but only had enough time for about 4 runs so far so take everything with a grain of salt. Also not going to use the "Go for the eyes" run as if you are the host, stuff will melt, but as offhost, nothing you shoot will die.
I think for the most part, the best kit in my opinion for plat is the asari huntress. Stealth grid is amazingly useful for pretty much all objectives and coupled with incindiary ammo having both throw and lance really helps with the armored enemies.
Second, lose the hold your ground mentality along with the lone wolf syndrome. For the most part, most pugs will not have the weapons needed to burn down every enemy before it gets close and the bigger enemies like behemoths and the destroyer looking thing must absolutely be kited, but in a fashion where everyone is together as to avoid some fucker in the middle of nowhere dragging a shit ton of random enemies from the other direction to sandwich your group.
Third, and again, this is just personal opinion, but some kits are just no good and are a huge liability in the hands of the average remaining playerbase. Namely, vanguards. Holy fuck, it is as if the most retarded people play vanguards. 3 purple observers, 1 purple destroyer thingie, and 2 behemoths, what is best course of action? Charge of course! Like for real?! Classes that cannot prime armored and shielded enemies also fall far behind along with certain niche weapons. Like the equalizer. Normally I would say its a decent gun, but with the objective of moving to avoid being swarmed, you will likely be pretty much out of its maximum range most of the time.

Hey look, badass players go with +200% bonus damage modifiers and then pride themselves and say platinum is like a walk in the park.
If you wanna play fair, don't be a cheap whore and play with bonus damage match modifiers.
PLAY WITH NO SKIRMISHES
Or if you go with match modifiers... DON'T FUCKING SAY IT'S EASY

Go for the eyes just didn't work for me off-host. All my headshots simply were not counting as headshots. Had to play as Host just to get a fair crack at the apex mission and complete it.
I think its very cuntly of Bioware to make the Hack missions almost impossible due to no guns in the game being quick enough to kill bosses. Even Cobras don't do a damn thing in those situations. And why they made it 10 fucking years for your character to lift the cobra launcher and fire it, i cannot fathom. In ME3 it was much more fluid. And pressing cloak did not have a delayed reaction either. This shit is so badly programmed.

Let the people without stealth who go into upload/hack zones bleed out after the first try. Or pray you get devices/recovery. And yes, stealth classes seem to be nearly a must. Did a PUG match, no modifiers and full extract. I was human sentinel, rest of the team had cloak/stealth grid. I had to run around the map like a mad man. Barricade was useful for immediate cover and some CC to prime/detonate. But, stealthies were able to cap hack zones with ease instead of being rofl-stomped. Definitely will require a stealth character on platinum and someone to be the bait
