What are your thoughts on packs now?
Credit/AP Packs
Start with Bronze packs again, or keep doing Premium/Reserve packs and let the lower levels trickle in?
MF Packs
I imagine the only option here is to just save up for the UR cards. All the other cards can be bought guaranteed with credits. The special mods don't seem worth the MF since they're only like a 3-5% increase over the basic mod.

The only reason to clear out basics when the game launched was to quickly do Gold with a strong Common manifest. At this point, just stick with UR packs I think.

It does make Basic packs slightly more appealing instead of Supply Packs. You are overpaying for consumables but you're knocking out the ranks 11-20 of the common weapons, some of which are probably going to end up better than your uncommons and rares. Maybe not mathematically better (DPS-wise) but who wouldn't like to have extra DR when using the Charger which is a totally fine gun even on Gold?

You may wish to go with the lower packs for now, as you may find a lower level weapon with the Siphon (or whatever floats your boat) mod on it and get it to X( or maybe even XX) quicker. Same as when everyone first started (having a I class UR wasn't necessarily as useful as a X U or R) so you can utilise something more suitable for Platinum (I know nothing I have right now is suitable when I tried a few hours back).
Now I'm back to grinding Gold runs until I can get a decent weapon with Siphon on it to use when low on health.

New weapon tiers only begin at uncommon level. Still, getting common classes to 20 is 40% melee, power and combo damage, which can greatly benefit some of those classes with relatively minor cash investment.

I'm looking at those sexy combo and power damage bonuses on the common characters, too

Yeah actually Human Adept XX with +40% combo det bonus will be pretty sick. So her Shockwave detonations will be 90% damage now? Don't forget, unless it's an unlisted patch change, Shockwave is still a dogshit detonator. Pass.

OK let me rephrase. She will prime everybody in sight with 3 multi priming powers and other characters will detonate at +40%.

No idea if this was optimal, but i did
Basic Packs until all common characters were XX (pretty cheap to do) Advanced packs until all Uncommon Characters were XX Then started back on Premium packs for the Rare characters and UR's
Note that if i had a do over, i would have switched from premium to Reserve packs. Going forward i will be going for reserve packs. There are just too many UR guns in the pool. I might have a chance someday to get UR chars to XX ... I doubt i will ever make all the weapons.

I'm going down a similar path, though I am going to transition from one pack to another a little early rather than when complete. For example, I only really play MEngi, FemSol and MSent, so if I have other cards left, I will leave them to dropping from silver packs. Same with silver packs once I get a solid core of the weapons and characters I actually use. Then, like you, it's on to Reserve Packs.
