As much as I'd have loved to see the other, more nuanced, side to the Batarians, I think whatever small chance we got of that got definitely buried with the in-world explanation they gave for the Batarian MP character.  What is that story, exactly? I haven't yet played with the character. It's not so much a story as a one minute promotional video. IIRC, Kandros explains that he testified against a pirate gang and got sent to Andromeda as part of his witness protection program or something like that. On topic: If we are gonna have another Ark, I want to see a volus Ark, which should be half the size of any other Ark.  EDIT: Found the vid: |

tbh the only thing I like about Batarians is blinding them one eye at a time. Although t obe fair as Shepard we only saw the bad side to the Batarians Well... there is Bray. He seemed like a good guy. yea hbutI think him and Balak's second were the only 2. But I'm betting that even they weren't exactly squeaky clean. |

True but there are less despicable people than others though. I would say the Turians and Asari are the ones with the cleanest hands but yeah every race has a few trouble makers. |

Nah I like new stuff. Once they bring the quarians I think we got all the essential races. They are going to bring with them Drell, Volus and Elcor which I personally found pointless but what is done is done. However I want new races in this game. They don't have all to be super important, support-races are also cool as they add flavour and depth because this galaxy need more life in it.

The batarians are among my three hated races in Mass Effect. I'm with you on that one. I want BioWare to stand by what they said, axing some species in favour of creating new ones. Don't give into to demands to bring every fucking species back just because someone asked you to. Cojones BioWare. Cojones.  This. Dear God. For a game that was supposed to stand on it's own, Andromeda seems to be filled with all of the races of the trilogy, which is yet another missed opportunity. |

Batarians and Geths and all the other missing races, we need them all back. MEA is way too bland this way, too grayish, sure the planets are colorful and the angarians too but otherwise it's all grayish. I'm not saying the game is boring, well in a way it is, so it would just add so much more if we got those other races back, some variation, something familiar.

The batarians are among my three hated races in Mass Effect. I think the batarians were a bit of a missed opportunity in the franchise. They're always just slavers and mercs, but more than that, they even drew the short straw technologically because of course they had inferior leftovers of the protheans' technological remains. Everyone hates them and they're relatively weak militarily since even the newcomer humans are stronger than them. I have to say that they're probably one of my favorite races and think they deserved better as a faction with stories to tell. I also quite like the Batarians, because they are the humans who have failed at all. The cool thing is they will never admit it or believe it, which makes them proud. |

My boys were always the anti-hero in the MET multiplayer. Everyone hated them offline but when the chance came to play em... well who doesn't love to play a badass mf'er.
I agree with those who don't like this though... I can't see a Bat. joining the AI. It just doesn't make sense... especially since it was Human driven. Even the stowaway non sense doesn't really connect for me.
I think it was poetic they were the first to be smoked by the Reapers in Me3 precisely because they refused to play nice with the rest of the Milky Way. But, that doesn't make me love them any less.

But for whatever reason they stayed in their ships all this time, and will now travel between galaxies?? Did this Geth telescope show them a world that is just as good as Rannoch? Why not look for something in the MW it was hardly at full occupancy. Fan service is great, but now its run amok.
I really wish they flesh out things in Andromeda and forget about more arks.

In ME:Ascension there was a growing resentment in the Migrant Fleet about the Admiralty Board not authorising exploration efforts to find a new world to settle, and there are quarians who are exiles from the fleet for a whole host of reasons, either by choice or force. The quarian population could easily be made up of these individuals, those who want a new home of their own. I think they should've just had a second fleet of arks, one for Elcor, one for Hanar, etc. So we could get an Elcor and Hanar pathfinder  |
