I hope I'm wrong but... Games that rely upon a gear-grind usually want progression to feel consistent, rewarding, and achievable. Normally with worthwhile content, it's impossible for a developer to outpace their hardcore players. However long it takes you to make a map, a new character, or a new gun, you can bet some players will unlock it and max it in a fraction of the time. Quadrupling the number of guns and doubling the number of character cards feels like a carpet bomb of lazy content. A way to extend the game's lifetime with the minimal effort possible. Could that be because the team are wrapping up before they get transferred onto other things?

You're not the first to float the theory, but I suspect support will continue even if there isn't much in the way of new MP content.

The data mines indicate more kits coming. While overall I agree with you, ME3 was interesting in that respect. It was not updated, yet survived for a few years on cool aid.
With Andromeda, I expect that active support will last till Anthem release, as they only have two years to go.

Contractually, I recall that Support for MP was 6 months this time round, compared with the full year for ME3. Given that MEA was released end of March 2017, I'd say we have a good two and a half month left of updates.

I was just guessing and thinking logical thoughts well, hoping too, b/c I really like Remnant setting, and the two new maps were lovely, so I really want to see a couple more in the Remnant city ruins or on the Habitat-7/Ryder 1 planet. And that small asteroid would make a great map as well imo particularly if they add the weird gravity as a hazard. Anyway, there are a couple of small maps in SP that got underused imo. The less i s I have to see the Ice Palace, the better, lol.

On one hand, this is how a small group of devs -- with limited resources but a legit desire to create new content -- can do a lot with a little. I don't doubt they want to make the game better. On the other hand? I don't think there is another hand. More like the back of the same hand with EA/Bioware being completely responsible for putting a small group of devs on this task and mandating that they expand the manifest by 50% while saying fuck-all to any sense of ME continuity and Bioware organizational memory.

Before, as I haven't seen Anthem being pushed back and haven't really looked on these forums the past month or so. Been busy playing Everquest on their newly released Progression Server. I also haven't seen any news on MEA getting paid for DLC (Which historically the MP team has used to "steal" assets from), so I doubt we should expect a whole lot in 8 weeks time.

It reminds me of a Need for Speed game a few years ago (I forgot which one, but it was the shitty one after Hot Pursuit).
They had 3 DLC packs lined up to be released in the coming months, but the game didn't sell as well as Hot Pursuit and multiplayer was pretty empty since it was terrible.
Instead of releasing the DLC over a few months, they added them all on the same day to the store. 3 DLC packs, all available immediately and the game was never supported again. EA knew waiting to roll out more content meant more people were going to leave the game, so they wanted to get as much money out of the existing players as possible.
MEA feels like that with this launch. I'm guessing we'll see minor things (like the 5 incoming characters + 2 maps)... maybe a surprise Quarian/Geth/Volus character drop. Maybe a return of the Lancer, Javelin, Claymore. But this feels like the last major content drop for microtransaction dollars. Throw everything out, see how many people will remain in the coming weeks/months and only touch up the game before moving this team completely to Anthem.

I want support to continue, so they change this lolcards collection BS of having to unlock every gun AGAIN 3 MOTHER EFFING TIMES because they couldn't just add 3 mods instead of 3 gazillion copies of the same guns in different version.

It's amazing that people genuinely want to con other people into falling for doom-and-gloom garbage based on the fact that new content is being added to the game.
It begs the question of why you even play the game if you desperately want to believe it's dying.

It begs the question of why you even play the game if you desperately want to believe it's dying. There is a difference with "new" content, as opposed to what feels like sunsetting content knowing the stories involved with this studio. It's no secret they're now a support studio, and it's probably down to the 4-5 guys doing the stream each week. But it feels like they had ideas for the future of the game.......... but EA is telling them to wrap up the support for it. So they dump all their ideas out into a final release, so they can move on to Anthem. Gamers have ideas when a game is releasing their final content. We can see the writings on a wall when the content given, has the feel of the final content without a studio explicitly saying it's the last content. That's what this feels like.

The data mines indicate more kits coming. While overall I agree with you, ME3 was interesting in that respect. It was not updated, yet survived for a few years on cool aid. Given that MEA was released end of March 2017, I'd say we have a good two and a half month left of updates. Two and a half months is just enough time to release the 5 datamined kits, and I guess weapons to go along with them. This is pretty much it.
