I mean, the PAW is not a high DPS weapon... It's just a priming tool. Aye. Closest I've been able to come to making it "high DPS" is to build the Human Infiltrator with combat cloak and the sustained fire debuff in passives. Even then, it pales in comparison to the glorious PPR. |

Platinum is definitely playable with PUGs... if you're good and they're not an APEX 200 or something really low. I took a lvl 11 Batarian Scrapper VIII into a platinum and we all extracted. It's all about how you play and your team dynamics. I actually wanted to take a lvl 1 Batarian Scrapper I into platinum, but given how new Platinum is, I assume everyone would freak out and kick me out the lobby so I had to slum it in a few gold matches to bring him up a few levels  . You fell down a lot.Platinum has the potential to be awesome, but at the moment is kind of a disjointed mess of spam spawns. |

If I played with you last night, then yeah, I was a little rusty and didn't have enough shields. First 10 games were a little rough. Only extracted 50%. After that, it's been 100%. I kinda expected the same ramp as when MEA first came out. I'm not going to say Platinum is awesome just yet. My biggest complaint about MEA hasn't been fully rectified. The new enemy units adds some more interesting dynamics, but it's still not enough variety. I hope BW keeps adding more variety in the enemy units. The Destroyers and Atlases are currently scary in that they're bigger bullet sponges, but they don't do anything special. The Pregenitor and that fast moving Hydra are actually interesting. The Behemoth is just a bigger Krogan, and a TS with Piranha still does pretty well against him. If BW commits to MEA, I'd love to see some mid-level enemy units that have more than just guns. Maybe a stabby sword character. Platinum is fun right now, but maybe that will change in a month once players get used to it. I don't think it'll be viewed as this great big challenge for long. I remember people exclaiming Bronze was the new Gold when MEA first came out, and people quickly realized the enemies were just bullet sponges. The acclimation time for platinum will be much shorter. |

Platinum is awesome indeed. I find it more enjoyable, more challenging and more balanced than ME3's Platinum. Best addition to the game since Patch 1.06.

I think it's more balanced than MEA gold against the robots. They don't have to cheat by throwing 20 observers at you to beam your health down. I'm not yet sure it's balanced for sniping just yet. As platinum slows down for players, maybe sniping will be easier. Right now, if I'm in the mood for sniping, I have to take a side arm with me. In ME3 platinum, you could take just a sniper and still run and snipe. In MEA platinum, the spawns are not as predictable and it's not as easy to "lead them" around the map.
