We were using Infiltrators as they should be the class easiest to perform all objectives with.Figured having 1 or 2 of them would allow for an easy hack round regardless of wave due to them not drawing agro, so having them leave agro to the rest of the team is a non issue as all we have to do is hold a position long enough before we have to fall back, usually to another spot not too far off while the Infiltrators do there thing. (AKA sit around in the circle twiddling there thumbs)
Sure as hell didn't need them for damage as myself and my other friend who was playing a Human Soldier were topping the board every match. All of the matches I played on Platinum were on my Human Engineer by the way, and any game I was in had no more than 2 Infiltrators in it. Even rotating they'd fail to secure the hack on wave 4 and 6.
As far as relying on Cobra's, that's the thing YOU CAN'T they deal no damage. Takes 2-3 Cobra's on Platinum just to kill a full health Observer.(one I fired at a Destroyer ended up hitting an Observer mid way there square in the face and it still had more than half its shields) I've probably fired less than 10 Cobras total in the 10 or so Platinum attempts I've done, 3 of which were full extractions the other 7 were usually a wave 4 or 6 wipe that was a Hack. Why even have them as a consumable when a charged Overload deals more damage then them?
Again I don't think Platinum is hard, Hacks are just overly difficult and I even say without a Hack round or a Hack appearing on Wave 2, Platinum is no harder than Gold to be honest. My experience so far with Platinum has literally either been.
Wave 2 Hack or no Hack objectives = Full Extract every time, game doesn't even last 18 minutes
or
Wave 4/6 Hack = Fail almost every time
Both instances with friends or randoms
Please do tell though, what are these pro strats that allow you to consistently beat wave 4 and 6 hacks without the use of Infiltrators because I find it hard to believe simply killing them off the objective is the answer especially when Progenitors take like 2 minutes of constant fire and combos to kill? Because I honestly want to know, because I'm already ready to go right back to just playing Random/Random/Gold until Hack objectives get sorted. I think I've gone past wave 4 hack once and it was my first successful extract on Platinum and it was the mission with the 200% Weak spot damage multiplier.

Lol what nonsense are you spewing, Wave 6 Hacks are basically impossible. Have played with coordinated teams with multiple Infi's that rotate while the rest of the team draws agro and still fail 100% of the time. Sh** will spawn 10 feet from the hack go there despite 1 or both infi's on it being cloaked with no way to burst them down quick enough for them to then now be over ran leading to more sh** sitting on the objective. Cobra's deal no f***ing damage and it takes 5 or more of them to kill any of the boss tier enemies, and no combination of classes has the DPS to kill any of these enemies quick enough for it to matter. Hack starts, infi's cloak get to Hack, random enemy decides it wants to sit on hack as well. Infi's rotate out, enemies agro for like 2 seconds but decide hey I'm going to continue to sit on this f***ing hack, infi's kill those enemies and recloak but in the process agro something else that is now on its way to sit on the f***ing hack again. Rinse repeat until the timer runs out and everyone is so frustrated they say f*** this game and play something else. Its one thing to just not acknowledge poor game design, its another to be so blinded by elitism that you just assume its suppose to be borderline impossible and that anyone complaining is a casual. Majority of the complaints are primarily due to the changes made to the Hack Objective, personally I don't find Platinum any harder than Gold but when Hack shows up on Wave 4 or 6 I'm ready to just wipe because I don't feel like wasting my f***ing time when I know there is a like 95% chance of failure. So before I point out how "elitist" I am. I have a few questions. How many players were infiltrators on your team? How many games have you played with infiltrators? What in your mind, is happening when you and your allys popped cloak around the game? (infiltrators usually have a me,me,me thing about them, so i'm curious how you see the world playing out around you in a game.) You do know that infiltrators TC simply drops immediate aggro and enemies retarget another visable player, or as you put it, just sit around... (even across the map, say on the hack)? Infiltrators provide 0 support and their main ability puts THE REST OF THE ENEMY BURDEN ON THE VISABLE TEAM.
Its literally like people think using infiltrators is the solve all for platinum. Well guess what, instead of thinking that LOOK AT WTF is going on when you play with an infiltrator. Ever notice how the solo's in MEAMP are using infiltrators? There is a reason they work so well...and its not because they do insane damage...i'm curious on what you think is going on in those situations as well.... Forgive me but I honestly don't see anything in your post that says your ready for platinum. Relying on infilitrators, and relying on cobras, in mass effect is in reality, "I don't want to get shot so let me go invisable and drop the aggro on me (even if it hurts the REST OF MY SQUAD...)," and "I need a big boom to drop all my problems when I get overwhelmed." Anyone who says anything different are not playing mass effect andromeda in the real world. Infiltrators are GREAT for some money waves, i'm not disputing that at all, but even as you pointed out, clearly they are not great in dealing out enough damage to secure a foothold facing a horde of enemies where redbars are bronze bosses. A krogan mercenary/vanguard with melee out the ass will drop 10 enemies clustered on a hack as fast as any infiltrator, and you know, they don't say fuck you to the rest of their team while they do it....TC last for a short duration after you fire your weapon and get the damage bonus. After that there is a LONG recharge to do it again. And whats the upside?.... THEY DROP THE BURDEN OF AGGRO TO THE REST OF THE TEAM?? That is a good thing? Like really my dude? Cobra's are a bain to bioware, they make the "impossible" task as you put it to easily possible by instantly dropping boss units and weaker. They want your money from packs. You getting gold from easy games doesn't get them money. Cobra's are fine they way they are now, they do widespread damage and heavy damage, they still drop alot of total lifebar if you pop one on a crowd of enemies. This game is poorly designed, I knew that before the game even came out it would be riddled with issues, lol like come on man I played ME3..... But you know what, I adapted, and overcame, and so do some other people who play MEAMP platinum, even with a hack. They don't rely solely on infiltrators or cobras, because no one has to, and you know what else .......they seem to be really good at making that 5% (100%-95%...for those... ) seem a bit bigger than you make it out to be. No dude... you aren't ready for platinum. Call me an elitist if that makes you feel better. Do you want poeple to listed to yur adivice? Yes or no? If yes then please drop the patronizing tone, stop telling people that they do not belong to plat, and that they should stick to bronze etc. It is not helping. You know what? You might be even correct that some don't belong to plat, but it is not for you to tell. You have some good advice burried deep in your posts but no one will read it becaise of the tone of your posts. Just stick to the advice, strip down your posts and people will be thankful.

Siphon guns bring back a cunthair of health. I have to kill 4-5 enemies to bring back the health from just 1 ascendant bubble shot. I checked in-game and it seems it makes a difference what type of enemy you shoot at. Redbars don't do much for my Siphon shotguns but when I fire at armored targets, every shot gives me a considerable health-up...

Well one thing I will agree with is that the patch made gold a bit too easy. At that level hacks can be straight up defended (which IMO is a lot more fun than hide and seek you have to play on Plat).
Plat is actually fun with exception of the new hack mechanic. And even that strongly depends on where the hack circle is and how good is your team at drawing aggro without actually killing crap. Everything else is largely a minor annoyance.
If you have more than one infiltrator on Plat, either the remaining two players need to be stellar, or one of the infiltrators should be playing yo-yo with enemies by leading them away, stealthing, watching them path half way back and dropping stealth. That provides both safety and good distraction. Also Avenger and Huntress are superior to most TC kits as they can remain in stealth for much much longer by chaining stealth grid and eating supply packs.
While I don't agree with Ronnie on everything, think his requirements on who should be playing Plat are a bit crazy (he didn't kick me with my Hurricane II though, and we had what, 4 straight wins including a really awfully positioned hack on zero), and do believe he can come off as an elitist on the board, he is usually right when it comes to gameplay mechanics. So I'd ignore how he says things and just reply to what he says.

You're absolutely right: tone is completely on the reader to interpret and had nothing to do with one's base line rhetoric. For instance, if you read this and interpret it as sarcastic, that's completely on you and I am devoid of all responsibility of my message. Even in my rage posts about changes and dev behavior/mental state, I have acknowledged lack of tactfulness and admit that some censoring or rewording might help, in theory, the message and hope of change. But I'll still hold that the lack of tactful rhetoric is necessary for a variety of reasons. To not acknowledge that your posts make you sound like an elites prick shows a lack of really wanting to affect any change. Therefore others read into exactly what you've given them: a picture of someone who just sees themselves as superior and doesn't really wish to help others. Talking down to other players as them just being bad players doesn't help them. So functionally speaking in terms of the forums, you add nothing. It's fine to think highly of yourself and that maybe a small percentage of players will be better than or as good you, but if that's all you have to offer, then why are you here? Are your skills a safely guarded secret that if others knew you would no longer be as high on the totem pole? I get it, you're so good and talents so honed that you're able to tackle platinum no problem. Well, if you're in the top 1% of players and those players have no issue doing platinum, then fine. But if the other 99% of players are having issues, they're not bad players: there's a problem with the engine. To snub off the other issues people face and have is ignorant and not helpful to anyone but your own ego. I am able to tackle platinum with a good team with about a 2/3 success rate of wave 6 hack. I'm not incapable of handling it. But I'm not everyone. Nor am I blind to the objective frustration of wave 6 hack. My complaints are partly from injecting myself in the seat of an average pug. Because that is most of the game's community. That's what makes a community. Being able to jump in and play with people. To suggest play is exclusively for the top 1% who are able to make a good lobby of high skill players is stupid and goes against the spirit of the game. And you only need a fraction of that skill if you take out the bs of hack. Bosses running around included. Also, to assume rank 4 uncommon kits with bad UR weapons are trying this difficulty and that that's where most of the complaints ate coming is stupid and indicative of your own awareness of who is annoyed by platinum/hack.

From the way people were describing platinum, I was expecting... more?
I don't want to sound elitist, because I don't think I'm the best player by any means. I hadn't played since 1.07 screwed my framerate, so I took 3 pug gold matches to warm up. We were dominating gold sub-14 min so the host decided to bump us to platinum. I braced myself and threw on some cryo ammo for debuff and a shield booster. Female human adept.
Let's just say I about shit myself at the end realized I still had most of my consumables and my highest score ever by nearly 15k. I really think people are overestimating the need for stealth classes... the real necessity is stacking debuffs. Shit just melts. My biotic explosions were destroying everything.
Just my 2 cents

Yea, after playing a few more pug lobbies it became clear that objectives, map and team dps matter, a lot. Had a few hacks and they were nigh impossible. I'm pretty sure we had pizza and then bosses.

Yeah, I've only really played one game myself (thankfully without a hack) unfortunately with two players getting carried. It was painful. For someone that PUGged as heavily as I did when I played, it would've been a nightmare to attempt that consistently.

Just my 2 cents You already had a decent team from the sounds of it. What objectives did you get? That's where it tends to fall apart, and what most people are complaining about. Pretty much 100% this, played mostly Platinum yesterday for a solid 6 hours and had probably a 50-60% extract rate. You can already guess that every time we wiped it was a wave 4 or 6 Hack, hell one game we almost wiped on a wave 2 hack, damn Ahdi spawn like 20 at a time 10m from the objective and it was down to the last like 20 seconds when we finally got it. Platinum with no Hack or a wave 2 hack = sub 18 minute game with a full extraction most of the time platinum with a wave 4 or 6 hack = fail like 75% of the wave 4 hacks and 100% of the wave 6 ones Was only playing with one other buddy today and as usual topped the board every game, some pubs were actually really good and we came close to our first wave 6 hack that was successful. Had an Asari Huntress XX in our game who did a beautiful job at holding her own the whole time and it was one of the few games were someone other than my friend out scored me, she got the hack to like 95% but the other pub some dumb ass on a Salarian Architect came over and wouldn't get off the f***ing hack so a sh** storm rolled in on them and we ended up running out of time...

After reading all the horror stories, I finally tried platinum (non-PUGs). Played the HA, and she did pretty well... had to be revived several times though.
I personally did not find it as tough as platinum in ME3. I certainly would not have used the HA in platinum in ME3, even with her stronger BEs and much faster cooldowns. Playing ME3 on PC, there would have been zero chance of running away or kiting enemies without being an inf or a kroguard (IMHO).
Got the infamous wave 6 hack in one game, and was able to kite enemies (including a behemoth) without getting killed. Dunno how it could have be done without an inf in the group though. But other than that, it was probably no harder than collectors on gold in ME3. Easy? No. But less stressful than platinum on ME3 at least.

Judging from my limited sample of pug matches, random groups already struggle with the objectives on gold.

Judging from my limited sample of pug matches, random groups already struggle with the objectives on gold. I`d say they are all easy... except new hack. You can tell who is truly gold worthy player when hack objective hits in bad location.... bad players won`t stop dying every 15 seconds...

It's mostly killspeed and becoming outnumbered from what I've seen. The dying comes at some point later.

I second these sentiments entirely. Gold is now ridiculously easy, possibly easier than silver was pre 1.09, and isn't particularly interesting anymore. But playstyles that were effective but not OP, e.g. tanking or biotic cc, in gold pre 1.09 just don't work in platinum due to enemy hp and damage.
I'm not saying Platinum is too hard - I've managed to complete it and I don't consider myself that good. But it's shitty that the only difficulty that currently offers any decent challenge is optimally played with a narrow set of strategies. Things like cloak are disproportionately stronger because of how high enemy damage and walk speeds are, while many other strategies that were made useful and fun through the previous patches are pretty bad again.
The end result is that this game's balance feels an awful lot like it did at launch. 75% of the pugs on Platinum run an infiltrator, which really smacks of when everyone was running vanquisher + cloak or turbocharge, and any class that can't take the resulting aggro dump is not going to be pleasant to play.
So we've come full circle. In my view, the game's balance is effectively about where it was at launch, and we have 4x the weapon grind and 2x the character grind, all while none of the content is really new. Not good.
