Greetings. Here is the Rift Mage build that I have been using for my male Trevelyan. Build Link:- Rift Mage BuildFor those who are curious, the Lightning Bolt is to deal with the Qunari in Trespasser who are highly resistant to Fire and Frost. The other Lightning spells (Chain Lightning and Static Cage) can cause the Shock-Weakness bug which prevents the Rift Mage passives from working. Lightning Bolt does not have Shock effect and it pairs well with either upgrade of Pull of the Abyss. Humans can get up to 32 ability points without modding or exploits. As you can see, this build consists of 31 ability points. That leaves one ability point and I am thinking on investing it in either one of these three passives:- a) Rejuvenating Barrier. Gathering Storm. c) Mana Surge. Rejuvenating Barrier gives more mana regeneration. Gathering Storm reduces spell cooldowns and Mana Surge grants a free spell when the enemies destroy your mage's Barrier. All the passives work and none are bugged as they used to be in the early days of the game. So which would you recommend as the ideal passive for me to select with the remaining 1 ability point ? Have a nice day and cheers.

If playing solo in Trespasser, Mana Surge is somewhat mandatory since tons of enemies can break through Barrier in no time (not to mention spirit-immune stalkers who can Spell Purge). Additionally you can cast Barrier when not in combat and get a free ability afterwards.

Your build is pretty much finished, I don't see any of these passives adding that much to your build.
Gathering Storm one of the first passives I get as a mage - It is one of the best passives to have during early game. Because I hardly ever re-spec my Inquisitor, I end up keeping it til the end. It will hardly be that effective at higher levels as you will have several abilities to cast and you can cycle among them. The other two passives are both great - arguably both are better than Gathering Storm - but they are also pretty situational. I think I would still go with Gathering Storm.
