So, i am on my 3rd walkthrough now and reached level 91. Is the basic goal to continue to do the walkthroughs (that is if you enjoy the game) until you reach level 132? I have a few questions on this. 1. Is this what most people are doing who enjoy the game.. Continue to play the New Character + and grind till 132 (max level)? 2. If you are doing 1 above, are you going through all the quests again, or just running the main story line? 3. Are you getting all your Strike Team members to level 20, and then equipping them with what items? Since they carry over from the NG+. 4. Do you feel this is grindy, or still worth doing - to get that max character level in case they add new content or make changes to w/e. Just mostly curious what the hardcore MEA players are doing since I know some people are simply one and done with this game. I find I enjoy it and not sure what the basic idea is after you have completed it, and you still enjoy it. Are you starting over from level 1, or mostly doing the NG+. P.S. I am not interested in the Multiplayer aspect, only the single player.. Thx again as usual in advance.. This forum has a lot of helpful people

Did an NG+ once to make Sara into a demigoddess of war.
Gonna be doing new game for each character from now on. Probably not on Insanity, I'd like to see a Viper instakill something. Narrative o'clock.

I have yet to do an NG+ playthrough, though I'll likely get to it. So right now I'm just playing around with new characters, choosing different dialogue and making different choices, just to get a better feel for the game. I mean, my second playthrough I just stumbled across a few things I'd never done before, and the same is true this playthrough. And there are some missions (mostly Tasks) that I'm definitely avoiding just because I don't enjoy them.
So far what I like about MEA is that it gives me enough room to do the things I like, avoid what I don't like, and still win the game.

I played NG+ and NG++ with Scott to max out everything and get all profiles to level 6 (without re-speccing) and also to play the higher difficulties and get the Insanity achievement. Now I'm back to brand new game with Sara, starting over from scratch to try out biotics for the most part since all my previous games focused on tech/Infiltrating. So, do whatever you want to do, basically. There's no one right way to play.

Are you guys trying to reach the max level? Also, once you get your strike team set - I believe its 6 members to level 20, what points are you spending credits on? What do you think are the best?

I'm still technically in my first playthrough with Scott, although I've been going back and forth a lot in sections choosing different dialogue options and then playing that section one final time making the dialogue selections that best suit the Ryder character I'm building. This probably means I'm doing about the equivalent of 4 or so playthroughs within this single one. Then I'll probably start the same sort of process with Sara before moving onto an NG+ with one of them (although it will go quicker because I'm sure they have similar dialogue options in most places, so I'll go back and forth only when I figure her lines are quite a bit different than Scott's lines. Then I'll probably continue to play NG+ games selecting different choices to make different personalities.
I'm not really into collecting things like all the best guns, etc. Where I go with it really depends on how many different personalities of Ryders I feel I can generate within the story. I do like the fact that I'll likely be leveling up still even if/when I go into a second NG+ playthrough with the same Ryder, as opposed to Shepard who pretty much topped out on levels during the first playthrough in both ME2 and ME3 and topped out on levels during the first NG+ playthrough in ME1.

I am not interested in the Multiplayer aspect, only the single player.. Thx again as usual in advance.. This forum has a lot of helpful people Just my take on it. 1) Unlike the prior Mass Effect games to me there isn't a benefit of starting over at 1, for the way I play I loose too much for I like to try different armor and gear setups so I would lose all the crafting recipes I unlocked. If you don't care about crafting I don't see too much of an issue starting over for you can have all the skills you really want to use in a few levels. I also have a tendency if I like a game to play it to unlock all the achievements as they become a goal to complete. 2) I have done both approaches and what I like doing the most is doing more quests, but avoid the ones I really don't like doing such as the unmarked ones at enemies camps you stumble across. I don't go out search for quests either. 3) I have all my strike teams at 20, I cannot remember where I was when I completed it, but my team as two people with the +20 to all missions and the other four have a different one that gives +40 (sorry I cannot think of the names) 4) I am still playing the game because I find it enjoyable to do so, I wouldn't grind any game for a "just in case" approach. I think if you are grinding the game for the future you are better off just finding something else to play that you enjoy. Edit: Spelling

I'm on my third playthrough trying to max out my favorite weapons. Thing I'm sad about is not being able to make guns for Ryder's underlings.

Agreed...there are way too many weapon options for just one person's use. I craft my main weapon and maybe a backup, but otherwise I just use what I find. Yet, I still lug around one of everything that I loot (keeping the highest level and dismantling the rest) just in case.

on my third real playthrough and I couldn't care less about levels, all I end up doing is playing sniper anyway (its the only thing that feels good :/). What I focus on is doing the main planet quest, vault + architect, squadmates + crew, and the main quest ofc. As for the squads I usally forget about them so I only have two at max level and geared on out for night time and the other one has the advance ai or what ever it is. I just hope by the time I get through this play through DLC will come around.

I played it once and put it down. The only thing that has a remote sense of curiosity from me would be things that I missed...and that's not enough to justify another long playthrough. Maybe once DLC is released I'll start a New Game just to see how they incorporate the DLC into a new game...but IDK...nothing I've seen so far really inspires consecutive playthroughs.
My personal experience with Bioware DLC is that the level of your character rarely impacts the DLC gameplay.

1. I can't say is that most people are doing, but I am doing it. Especially since I can do completely different Ryder in NG+ so I no longer have to grind for exp and resources.
2. I did it at first, but now I started a playthrough and I'll ignore all quests that don't affect final mission and can be completed after ending. In case I decide I'll go and complete all side quests later on.
3. Yeah, I done that ages ago. Now more important for Mission Funds, as Multiplayer Item Store is selling good stuff.
4. First playthrough it will feel grindy for sure, but it doesn't have to be. If you think you'll play ME:A with many different playthroughs, just do that. Unless you hurt for resources to craft weapons and armours you want to make, you can avoid grinding and get to max level by just playing the game at pace you want with multiple NG+.

I played NG+ once and then started to play from lvl 1 all other times, NG+ gets too boring, everything is leveled up, too much money, etc.

All my characters start off at level 1 I did consider doing a NG+ once before to see what it was like but chose not to in the end as generally I prefer the challenge to build characters from scratch and using NG+ kind of felt like cheating that tbh. Personally I mix them up by giving them different personalities so they kind of approach the situations differently also giving them different powers each time as well. For example my first character was a mix of an Adept and an Infiltrator in that she was an Infiltrator that had some biotic powers to back her up.. My current one which I've almost finished is a more straightforward Vanguard type. The next hero I've got in mind will be moer of a Sentinel in that she'll be a girl that won't rely so much on her guns but more on her powers. She still will use gun but they won't be the main focus of her build.

The benefits are worth it and you can change your specs unlike 1-3.

I'm on my second playthrough but I went for a restart at level 1 again as, I agree, there's something more pure about starting from scratch. I will definitely do NG+ at some point though. Probably for the harder difficulty levels (which I haven't tried yet). My main motivation for new playthroughs is experiencing different gender, different dialogue choices, different story choices, different combat styles, different romances and different difficulty levels. That's usually more combinations than I have the patience or time for, to be honest. I still haven't quite finished all the combos for ME3 yet! The actual level I reach isn't really that relevant. To be honest, I thought they'd said there wasn't a level cap but I suppose eventually you just run out of skills to put your points in

I really appreciate being able to max out all skills. It bugged me in the trilogy that I couldn't, and the level cap in 2 was way too low, especially with the DLC added in. In ME2, once you get the XP bonus, you can hit level 30 mid-game. In MEA, I needed 3 games with the same char to max out everything.

I played new game plus, plus, plus, plus etc. I have one Ryder at level 132. I have another Ryder that's at level 104.
As said above. It would be nice to craft weapons for the squad. It would be nice to craft armor for them as well.

Tbh that's the main reason again also why I don't think I'd do it again in MEA for the same reason. I know I have the option if I want it I just think I'd prefer to do things this way with my RPG's

My current Ryder's at level 53 but then I'm almost at the end of the game with her. Only got got a couple of side quests and the final missoin to go. I may end up going in and doing them at some point today but I'm doing a couple of quests for my DAI hero first atm.

I played new game plus, plus, plus, plus etc. I have one Ryder at level 132. I have another Ryder that's at level 104. As said above. It would be nice to craft weapons for the squad. It would be nice to craft armor for them as well. yea, i am curious how many games it takes to get to max level 132 I do agree, would love to be able to craft stuff for my groupies I don't know if i have it in my heart to actually start completely over though.
It took me 3 games but I did pretty much everything in all of them. If you skip stuff or only do story missions it will take longer.

It depends how much is done in each playthrough. I got to level 132 on my 5th playthrough.

yea, i keep wanting to do only the story quest, but every time i see a quest, i cannot help myself lol.. I must get it and finish it lol.. Except for all the bugged ones i keep getting.. Very frustrating. But still really like this game a lot more than most.

I've done one NG+. I went from an Insanity play through to NG+Insanity, maxed all of the abilities, finished the game and started a new character. It isn't something I'll probably do again.
As for my Strike Teams, I use 4 of them, get them to 20 and equip them with the N7 armor. Four teams has been all I needed to keep up with all of the strikes so far.
