I read in the patch notes there's now accuracy mods for pistol and assault rifle (so you don't have to put a scope on them, which is not ideal for close combat). I understand these can only be bought from the item store.. but does anyone know what they are classified as? Rare, common, etc? I've bought a few rare ones but they're all sniper rifle barrels so far that have a penalty to them as well.

I've seen reference to common or uncommon mods that can only be purchased in the item store. I haven't seen any for sale, personally.
Edit: Actually I did see "Uncommon Weapon Mod" as a sale item (70 MF, I think) but that was before the new mods were mentioned. I assume that the reference is to mods that will only be available in those packs, rather than the Basic/Advanced/Premium packs.

There are additional mods in uncommon, common and rare from the item store only. Check you prestige/collections/mods for the full list.

All scopes in SP are common items. These two items don't exist in SP, but it stands to reason they are bronze as well.

I'm not following how SP scopes' rarity indicates the likely rarity of non-scope MP mods. By scope, perhaps I should have said accuracy increasing mod. Also, to this point all weapon and mod rarities have matched between SP and MP. Seems logical to assume they will continue to do so.

The new pistol and AR accuracy mods are common. They look add a scope to the gun model but you stay in 3rd person.

I took a look at the mod vendor in SP. I believe the max rank for weapons and mods in SP is V. Looking at a normal rank IV barrel and an alternate barrel, I saw something like 14% vs 15% + an accuracy reduction that was far greater than 1%.
Ultimately all I think it does is make it tougher for users who didn't have mods maxed before to get the uncommon/rare mods at a decent level, as they're a lot more likely now to max the standard mods from packs far sooner than anything through the item store. Granted we don't have the actual rank X stats yet, but if they're what we think they are, they really add near-nothing to multiplayer (and are already pretty worthless in single player). Disappointing.

Thanks man. Now I'm sure I won't buy any of those. The heavy magazines are good but not at the cost and the number of other crappy mods I'd collect along the way.

Well. I don't feel bad about the whole 20k MF to get all weapon mods thing, because those stats are hot garbage.
I am sad the scopeless accuracy mods for pistols/assault rifles are part of this MF sink, though. I'd love those. Just not several ultra-rare character cards level of love.
Yup 5600 MF to get all new common mods. Or nearly 6 ultra rare cards. Fantastic.

Thanks for posting this! I also didn't realize these were item store exclusive I had posted in the bug thread thinking it was a mistake that the damage between the different barrels were identical. Now I see the slight differences at IX and X. Either way, it's as complete waste of 120 mission funds to get any of the rare barrels
The heavy magazine (and light magazine for the pistol), looks like the only worthwhile mods, imo. Especially for a Infiltrator users, and a Ushior, for example

What make me laugh with this incompetent decision is that you can't even buy Mission Funds with real money, at least not in game. So why is there such a f***ing grind???
Just add them to the pool of the rest of loot and make them as common as there weapon/character counter parts so we're not buying 30-40 5K/20K/50K packs just to get one damn weapon mod to drop, and for the love of god buff them so they aren't completely worthless. The way they were implemented essentially makes it like they aren't even in the game as you can't get them from packs. (Thank god)

Thanks man. Now I'm sure I won't buy any of those. The heavy magazines are good but not at the cost and the number of other crappy mods I'd collect along the way. The melee mods are commons. Though you're basically spending ~4k funds to get an extra 7% additive bonus. I might do it, but meh I might not.

With assault rifle recon scope with an accuracy/stability build on Turian soldier, you'd expect a Soned to actually shoot on the pin in your crosshairs....
