Don't you look at me that way, I literally came here to post Admiral Ackbar. The Americans weren't invited. You Euro clan are just jealous of our superior females and food. Ha-ha-ha-ha... Volus is being jealous because Quarian women are irresistible! Now shoo, before I rig your olfactory filters so everything smells like refuse!

20k in the human arc and no children? considering majority of western countries have a high obesity rate, a majority of the ark should be obese and why arent there any children. soo unrealistic I don't actually believe this is serious, but I'm bored, so... - Colonization effort would certainly have a very strict physical exam result requirement, even stricter than for an astronaut. - Children would specifically be prohibited, and there is an in-story explanation as to why no one can have children. Contraception was mandatory to prevent resource-consuming citizens who don't produce until self-sustaining colonies had been established. Of course, you got three pages off of this, despite the fact there are far more serious criticisms that are valid, such as why anyone would ever agree to colonize Andromeda while having no idea that the Reapers even exist. Sure, the people who planned it knew about the Reapers, but the colonial volunteers didn't, and their motivations simply make no sense.

I wonder how the krogan were able to fit in the pods? Once you take their armor off, they are basically toads with giant heads. The controls for the arms and legs are in the suit. correction: krogan are space turtle's.

They had one of those things like they have at the airport to check the size of your carry-on baggage. If you couldn't stuff your rolls into the frame, you wouldn't fit in the cryo pod. I wonder how the krogan were able to fit in the pods? "Made to measure! cryopods". Well, do you want to be the one who has to persuade a krogan that the cryopod will will be quite comfortable when he has occupied it for a century or two?

I would say that he's not trying hard enough. I miss trolls from couple of years ago. Their thread were not only amusing but you needed at least a couple of minutes to figure out that, yes they are indeed trolling. Now they're so obvious it's not fun anymore.

There are children everywhere in Dragon Age. In every title. Some are part of quests. Mass Effect has some kids as well. WTF is a kid going to tell me that I don't already know? Yeah, kid... we're f***ed. Reapers are gonna turn us all into mindless husks and we'll be forgotten. Sorry you're an orphan and all. If I were you, I'd do whatever the f*** I want right now. I guess they should've added more ambient sounds of babies crying in the background to keep the already darkened mood, darker... This is not relevant, but children in games annoy me. My general reaction is, "wtf is this kid doing here? I will likely have to kill someone soon." It's easier when they're not around, and no, it doesn't hurt my immersion at all.I think it's that they are harder to do well. Talented child voice actors are just harder to come by, and the artists and graphics people are more experienced with making adults. They fall into uncanny valley and go splat.

I lol'd. Oh, man. Star Wars the Old Republic. Maybe that's why the kids are living in the sewers under Coruscant. I still remember seeing this kid asking me to help her find and save her brother. Because of her voice and face, I thought she was suppose to be a little kid. I also still remember doing a wide-eyed double take when she stood up and I saw that she basically had a model akin to the female adults. Talk about audial and visual dissonance.

Actually there are children and indeed entire family units on the arks. One of the rooms on the asari ark was converted into an emergency nursery when their pods were damaged. However most of the kids are still in deep freeze and slated for third or fourth wave deployment. Kind of a ballsy move uprooting your entire family and heading into the unknown! If I had kids I don't know if I could do that.

If I had kids I don't know if I could do that. That's actually what I meant, that the lack of children being deployed and contraception were specifically to prevent resource-consuming citizens who are unable to produce, until the colonies were self-sustaining. The player has the option of getting around this, from what I saw, but I don't think the story ever follows up on that part (I haven't finished the game yet.)

They removed all high fat foods. Obviously. And all the children are raised in VR sims so we never see them. But we did see that one kid in Vancouver.

So...I know this is a troll thread and all, but the wasn't the whole kid thing dealt with in the mission where the one chick got pregnant when she wasn't supposed to? Ie, it's a question of resources and focus of the team working to establish outposts, etc, right? This is the first wave to get stuff started.
And wasn't the baby-making part of the initiative discussed ad naseum with Gil?
In my cycle, trolls tried harder.
