Is that I don't really ever see big crowds of enemies live long enough to do a Cryobeam Shatter chain.
Like seriously, everything dies stupid fast now. I barely have enough time to Charge Overload - Frostboom the trios of red bars that spawn every once in a while.

Yes, this is a tragedy. You act as if people had problems with other aspects of 1.09. Not sure where that is coming from.

Cry beam Snap freeze evolution doesn't do shit on platinum. Maybe if I pair with a batarian scrapper I could get a feed if I concuss something they've frozen. Its so bad I went back to cry-trap on the HEng.

As far as tragedies go, that's not that bad. For instance, did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise?

Its so bad I went back to cry-trap on the HEng. I've never actually tried the cryo-trap. I do remember reading, though, that it lets the cryo-beam prime in AoE without taking the AoE evolution (which lets you take the armor debuff evolution). Wouldn't that be fairly decent in platinum?

Gold is far too easy now and the lower difficulties must be severely affected - the added ranks should scale with difficulty. I occasionally feel like gold when levelling up but gold is no longer gold now it's more like silver plus. It no longer adequately prepares new players for platinum and it feels weirdly unsatisfying like someone in your game is using console commands... I miss having a proper gold difficulty.

I haven't found gold that much easier? It seems I'm seeing a lot more lower level players in gold (under 1k Apex, under 14 level). One problem with the massive pool of unlocks is it creates incentives for people who are desperate for credits/better unlocks to jump into games higher than they are ready for. Haven't even tried platinum for fear the pug situation is worse (certainly was bad in ME3 but a least plat had missile glitchers).

After one horrifying Platinum experience, I admit, Gold does feel a lot easier now.
But I'm not sure that's the same thing as actually being easier. At least, not until you've added some fairly serious passive Veteran bonuses. Which I haven't.

IMHO, MEAMP has always been easy to play, and no skill or learning curve required. Sure it was a mess at launch, but the final product is clear; its for casuals. In a way, it makes a perfect sense, profit wise, as they are enlarging the pool but still damn EA and bioware, and their frostbite engine for ruining Mass Effect . On the other hand, ME3 was accessible for all players on bronze, with a little challenge on silver, but gold was hard for new players even when geared up and using some of the special guns. To clarify, I remember when I started me3 in 2013, I was fortunate to get, from the very beginning, the hurricane and harrier but was never satisfied playing gold, cuz I thought it was difficult, even thu I wasn't too bad myself on bronze and silver. Many, if not all, of the reasonable players who didn't want to be useless on gold or higher, pugged bronze and silver for months. On MEA, however, it was only a matter of 4 or 5 days, when people became regular gold players who can contribute well and even top score, me included. Sure it can be tedious but not hard. I still play a gold or platinum MEA game a week or every two weeks and continue to be amused by the difference I see between me3 hardcore play and this game's casual appeal. And since I don't post much but I have on this thread , I'd like to say that I'm still surprised with the platinum composition; I don't see making the game more tedious (platinum) is an introduction to a more challenging fun experience.

I fucking love these threads where all the eDong waving braggarts come out and say how the game is too easy, is built for casuals, etc.
You know what? If you want to play a game that's super competitive, where you can truly compare your eDong to the best in the world, go be an eSports player on Halo or COD or whatever. MExMP has never been that game and never aspired to be that game.
P.S. I actually agree with the main point: it is a shame that you can't get super giant Cryo Beam'd Snap Freeze(*) explosions any more.
(*) But not the BatScrap's Snap Freeze because it doesn't have... Snap... Freeze... jeezus who thought naming these the same was a good idea?

Weren't we all complaining about enemies being too bullet-spongey nearly three months ago (on account of our powers/weapons being too weak)? Now everyone is upset everything dies too quickly. This is too goddamn hilarious

I would suggest that a lot of the reason for the relative ease of entry to MEA is a direct result of the experience gained on ME3. Players aren't starting from scratch; there are some differences and adjustments to be made going from ME3 --> MEA, but anyone who played ME3 would have a strong starting point. I have to wonder whether ME3MP would be so beloved as it is if there had been an ME2MP.

Gold is much harder in the avg pug game now than it was before simply due to the objective waves. Sure changes make it so you can kill mooks standing in a row waiting to be killed faster but I've had more wipes and fails than previous to 1.09 due to objectives.
