My very own eDong thread: Platinum Asari Huntress topscore (plus more)

Warning: long, self congratulatory war story incoming.

Last night I decided to play the Platinum Apex mission for the 15 MF (because 5,800+ is not enough, apparently). I dropped into a lobby with an Angara Avenger, Asari Huntress, and Human Infiltrator.

"Eh, fine, I'll stealth," I sez to myself. So I pull out my own Asari Huntress, then realize she is still the old Punchtress build from back when you didn't get staggered out of every other melee.

"Eh, screw it, I'm sure we'll be fine." Throw on a Hurricane 1, some Cryo Ammo, and a Pistol Rail Amp. Let's do this!

No mics, by the way. We XB1 PUGs can be quiet when we want to be.

Firebase Paradox vs. Kett with Weakened Assault Team (-25% health/shields)

Wave 1
We end up camping Holding The Line in the back of the map near the electrical thing, which I do *not* think is a good spot. But 4 stealth characters wreak havoc with the enemy aggro and by the time they sort it out we have killed a whole bunch of dudes.

Wave 2 - Retrieval
Easy peasy for a bunch of stealthers. I believe this wave is the first to have Purple Anointed. I discover the hard way that they can kill me while being frozen by Cryo Ammo. And not just as a one time glitch, pretty much every time I get the drop on one and hose him down, he kills me while being turned into an icecube. Geth Hunters redux?

Wave 3
KroBros everywhere! But the Angara Avenger and Human Infiltrator do a nice job of prioritizing them for Sticky Grenade spam. Also Blaze Hydras. I make a point to take out their triple eye so they can't use their missile barrage.

Wave 4 - Devices
Easy peasy for a bunch of stealthers. But after the objective we spend a *long* time cleaning up the wave. I notice that the Kett Behemoth is a motherfucker to take down given how fast he regens. (Forshadowing!)

Wave 5
Kiting, kiting, and more kiting. There was no real strategy given the lack of mics, but I ended up following the Angara Avenger around to detonate his Avenger Strike electrical stabby. A lot of times in this wave, two people were dead and the other two had to sneak around to revive them. I use about fifty Stealth Grids while cycling ammo boxes.

Wave 6 - Boss
Uh oh. 

We get off to a weird start when the first target, an Anointed, gets stuck in the scenery above the center ammo box. A couple of Cobras do nothing to him, but eventually a variety of Tech and Fire Combos detonated near him blast him out of there.

Second target is a Destined, I think, which dies quickly.

Third target is, of course, a Kett Behemoth. This thing is a beast. I chase it around the map emptying clip after clip of Hurricane ammo into its head, but every time it's almost dead, it rages and regenerates.

With time ticking away (literally! it was nerve racking) everyone ends up near the electrical thingy in the back. The Behemoth is there, along with two Blaze Hydras, some KroBros, and who knows what else.

I missile the Behemoth and immediately detonate a Fire Combo with Lance. Freeze him with Cryo Ammo and detonate with Throw. The other guys are hitting him too, a Tech Combo goes off. He's at about 1/4 health. More gunfire, he's regenerating again. I use another Cobra while dodging Blaze Hydras, detonate another Fire Combo. We are in the final 10 seconds of the Boss timer.

With about 5 seconds left I use Stealth Grid, empty a clip, Ammo Pack to reload, Stealth, clip... and the Behemoth *finally* drops.

Woot!

Wave 7
We do this the manly way: kill stuff while kiting around, and only head to the LZ with about 15 seconds left. (We could have sat in the LZ under Stealth Grid for the entire time.)

As pleased as I was to topscore (and I'll post the screenshot once it uploads), all throughout the match I felt like something was off about my character. No, not the fact that she was spec'd for melee damage and I never punched anything; something... else.

I look at her skill points and that's when I notice that I have 15 points unspent. My Lance and/or Throw were both weaker and slower than they could have been!



Which only makes my topscore all the more impressive and my eDong all the eDong-ier.

Making the biddies smile I see... 

Aside everything else - you definitely have a talent for narrating!

Or perhaps a defunct Dungeons & Dragons story hour from 2004?
