Did I ever tell you about the time I became a hero on campus when I took down the guy who had been terrorizing people with a Channel / Fireball deck? What...? I've told you several times? Every time we play MtG, in fact? Damn kids! Cut me some slack. My memory just isn't what it used to be.
"I'll take 'Movies That Did Not Need a Sequel / Remake' for $400, Alex." Hah! I actually didn't start playing until Tempest, and even then I only played casually (I missed out on all the broken Urza fun).

History of Magic the Gathering in two sentences.
The Old Days: crazy broken spells, mostly shitty creatures.
The New Days: spells aren't as broken, but creatures are insanely good compared to what they used to be.

Channel-Fireball was for barbarians. Timetwisters, Lotuses, and one Lightning Bolt was what civilized people played.

I started on 4th edition but somewhere around 98 some fucking piece of shit stole my decks outta my bag and I stopped playing. Until like 4 years ago when I decided to buy a bunch of cards for no real reason.

Not sure if they still make that series but had a lot of fun playing 2HG on ps3 back in an older version and 1v1 on the iPad.

I'm too old to be going to some Friday Night magic with a bunch of teenagers....kind of creepy... i'd get obliterated anyways unless I decided to pay to win :-P Was 2013 the one with the panoptic mirror and time warp in the Jace deck? That was my favorite. I had a weird blue build with the mill deck that was really fun as well...that was my first magic experience... in 2HG the Jace blue deck and Black deck (liliana or something) was super OP.

Not sure if they still make that series but had a lot of fun playing 2HG on ps3 back in an older version and 1v1 on the iPad. Bad news on that front. DotP 2015 was the last actual factual DotP game, but the next year WotC released DotP's spiritual successor, Magic Duels, which is a completely free game where players could own a digital card collection (separate from MtGO, no trades, not transfers, even between platforms). Although it retained the rarity limit set by DotP, players were allowed to construct deck from their card pools however they pleased (some initial balancing was needed). The game was supported through Amonkhet, however support was dropped mid block and Hour of Devastation (the latest block) has not been and will not be added. WotC announced they would discontinue MD's support ~2 β 3 weeks before BW expanded the ME:A MP manifest. Unfortunately this summer has kind of been a real bummer in terms of video games for me.

The amount of virginity related to magic the gathering is off the charts... over 20,000! Not even Master Yoda has a virginity level that high

I am bummed about Magic Duels being discontinued. It's one of my go-to games for when I'm riding the train or standing in line somewhere. I guess I can still play for fun to beat up on the AI.
= = =
Vaguely back on topic, last night's Platinum Apex was the +800% ammo / no refills. I brought the Krogan Mercenary with power cells booster and had 17 Flak Cannon shots. Soooooo much fun to give Krogan Berserkers a taste of their own medicine!
I topscored in that game too but I don't have a screenshot so you will just have to take my word for it. I am a Platinum God 1%-er, after all.
