Seems to be a lot of angry posts about hacks, so please can someone explain what is the strategy that will make nobody mad & if it matters on lower difficulties, or just a platinum thing?

Seems to be a lot of angry posts about hacks, so please can someone explain what is the strategy that will make nobody mad & if it matters on lower difficulties, or just a platinum thing? I would say tanking on Gold down is the way to go. If you can't tank on gold then you can follow the platinum cloak strategy. Platinum Hack: 1-2 people use stealth grid in the hack while the other 2-3 go far away from the hack and draw the enemies aggro for 2-3 minutes. This is often difficult and will require several health and revive packs. If you are a scrapper its better to kill the enemies slowly as they just keep respawining. We sometimes knock the health down of the big guys and once the hack is done finish them, so they don't respawn. So you want to kite, survive and kill what you must. Sometimes the hack is in a FUCK YOU spot like in the center of zero. For this you will probably need two people in the back and one in the room ahead of the LZ, otherwise enemies spawn and continually move through the hack. You will need to name spam the occasional enemy or have a teammate come draw shit out or rocket it. You can also run out of a hack and cloak there and run back in. This works in varying degrees as enemies lock on to your last cloak location. I just nade spam/rocket the occasional intruder. As an infiltrator, try cloak dodging constantly while you are waiting for it to recharge... bring nades... With barricades you can close off entrances and try tanking a hack. With the right class setups and a decent location you can tank a hack. With the right team you can probably just about get a silver hack medal anywhere in the game while tanking. It requires super high DPS and veteran players that communicate.

By tank I mean you and your three mates sit in the Zone and say "this is my effen hack, GTFO" and you smash shit: This only works with coordinated teams with synergy, debuffs and a lot of DPS. Will generally not work in pug lobbies. Works when I am playing with a squad just about every time if we are running smash builds. When I'm screwing around with a duelist or something I just let the avenger do his thing.

Wouldn't it be quickest to get all 4 in the circle huddled by the Avenger who stealth grids everyone? Obviously, this would require perfect discipline to not shoot and break stealth.

There are some other considerations though. The enemies sometimes will camp the hack if they don't have anything else to do and also, it is boring as fuck to sit cloaked for two minutes.

Tip for upload/hack that helps sometimes, is you want to stay closer to the front outer edge on the circle so the enemies stop at you rather than run into the circle to reach you. This doesn't work on circles that have big openings on multiple sides though, only on ones that are at the outer edge of the level or in small rooms.

Dogs, pariahs, etc will still amble towards a cloaked player. Doesn't work as well on plat due to boss speed, but a team of four taking outer points of the hack circle can effectively stop enemies from entering. Certain hacks may leave players too exposed for this. TTK is important, obviously. Also, every time a player reactivates cloak/stealth grid, the game records that current position. You need people to draw aggro away from the hack if going cloak method.

Don't bring more than 1 infiltrator (including stealth grid classes) Need at least 2 massive debuffs, (salarian op, batarian) and 1 CC/High damage/Debuff (THavoc,KrogMerc,HSoldier) Could even try a good HEng for cryoblast. Hack, all objectives actually but hack especially, is all about controlling enemies. Be it you killing them, or you diverting them away. If you can't kill your enemies, your using the wrong kit or wrong weapon or your team synergy is crap, or all the above. If you want to win, you have to stop just 'fucking around" and actually use your head a bit. The game just made it so you have to put in effort to win in some cases. By dev design, this is what they want. So its adapt or die. Also... are you really going to let a bunch of bots who do the same thing over and over again outsmart you?

Hack time either needs to come down, or certain enemies cannot interrupt it. or its timer to complete it needs to go up. my team can usually always handle it, but the small fast enemies standing on the point for a few moments before the large armored shielded enemies show up make it annoying. 4 team members with 22k+ points each and we still cant get it done in time.

Every time the Avenger cloaks, the stealth grid animation seems to alert the enemy exactly where you are. Even if you SG while still in cloak. It won't take them long before they find your circle. Like Killa said, kiting and tanking are the only options atm.

No, the enemy still have a general idea in what area the players are. Also it is alwasy better to cloak outside the circle a distance away, because they like going where players were last spotted and visible. If that is in the circle, they come investigating.

One clueless pug can wipe your hack and make it impossible to finish. I have found a solution though: mid-hack KICK!

Gold and below just camp all 4 in the hack. It's basically a European pheasant shoot. I fricken love gold hacks now with the power buffs everyone got. MOARPOWWER!
Platinum I'll just echo everyone else. A stealth grid user hacking with preferably one other disciplined guest. Other teammates pulling enemies away from hack.

Had one instance playing Paradox and the wave 4 Hack was the one out in the open by the extraction site. We got it to like 90% all sitting on it but with less than 30 seconds to spare, got over ran by a never ending flood of Berserkers who spawning 4-6 at a time from all sides. We ended up running out of time because we couldn't keep them out of the zone. If they change Hacks back to how they were I would be so happy, could actually go back to playing Platinum without getting pissed off after like 2 games. Its funny because Wave 6 upload use to probably be the most dreaded objective, but now I see a hack on Platinum wave 4 or 6, I'm just like "F***.... Well its been a good run boys" - sad music plays in my mind as we all rush to our inevitable deaths -

Had my first Platinum match without infiltrators yesterday for APEX, and first challenge was hack on top of the roof in that one camping spot. Basically just one or maybe sometimes 2 were only in the hack, while the rest of us were drawing agro away. When I seen the bar wasn't moving, I would come on the roof near lz and draw agro + kill what ever was in danger of near hack.
Hack went smooth and APEX mission was a success. But this one batarian was melting things up real good with that snow beam SR.
