If you only compare vanilla guns then Hurricane is still the best.
As for variants, I find the Siphon P.A.W. a much better choice for casters: infinite ammo, replenishes heath, can easily hit target from a distance, and it doesn't have the priming issue of Hurricane variants.

Isn't the highest DPS weapon in the game the Cyclone? It fires two projectiles at the cost of 1 ammo, so its RPM is actually 1200 not 600. Its only problem is that it has to spool up, and unlike the Rozerad or Soned it doesn't fire while spooling.
Rozerad is also another weapon that I'm fairly certain has a higher sustained DPS, firing at 925 RPM instead of the Hurricanes 950 once it spools up which only takes 0.5 seconds, and has better stats than the Hurricane in every single other category.
Got a Rozerad before I got a Hurricane and I couldn't use the Hurricane more than 1 Gold game before I went right back to using the Rozerad.

Not even the Black widow with 3 head shots? (3 cries is obviously very hard--almost impossible for me!). The super high base damage of kishock also means that any weapon training, passives, cloaks, weapon mods, gear, amp, etc...are all going to increase DPS more than on other weapons... so whether you want raw mathematical DPS for a base gun or the better, practical usable in -game-DPS, its gotta be the KISHOCK hands down for weapons. |

Tried the Rozerad with level 1 pistol without scope accuracy mod for first time yesterday after noticing it being brought up as an ace weapon on these forums lately. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Will try Platinum when APEX comes up again in 11:13 hours.
