Inquisition had some semblance of a story, there was anticipation, there was Morrigan showing up, you did not know how you got the mark up until mid-game, etc, actually quite a few moments. Not everything was crystal clear right from the start and easily predictable. If one largely ignored majority of exploration, it was not a bad game at all although some things were overplayed to the point of being ridiculous. And yes, gameplay is quite dull in both games but still DAI surpasses Meda in most aspects. Meda on the other hand, does not have any plot at all. I've finally managed to play about 4 hours of single player, went to Voeld and was wondering what am I doing there and why, there is no plot, nothing at all, no story whatsoever. There is no intrigue, anticipation, unexpected development, just plain utter garbage. Driving the car around, occasionally shooting something which is neither frightening nor really dangerous, not even evil, and let's see what happens after you get to some point on the map and solve a sudoku puzzle. It is not even an RPG due to lack of illusion of a choice, I'm not talking about real choice, but rather some new genre of casual pointless wondering about. Best part of it is that I can skip almost all dialogue. DAI IMHO had some good lines and sometimes excellent voice acting, mostly, of course, coming from beloved Claudia Black. I think the Dragon Age Universe simply has more room and plenty of topics, issues and struggles to be seen in depth in each new installment of the series. Even if Inquisition is mostly an exploration-oriented game, DA Universe allows for a good story to take place there. I would say it is, overall, my second favorite Bioware game - behind DA:Origins. I don't remember exactly for how many hours I played Andromeda SP, but definitely more than you - I am like level 40. And yeah, the game feels pretty devoid of story and meaning. It is just exploration and combat, nothing else. I feel that the Mass Effect Universe has been exhausted (and partly killed at the end of ME3); it has left no room for much more than we had already seen in the original trilogy. The Kett are the new Collectors, the Remnants are the new Protheans. Andromeda has no identity and for the most part no story either. Casey Hudson can't save Andromeda at this point. I don't even think he can save Mass Effect.

The Kett are the new Collectors, the Remnants are the new Protheans. Andromeda has no identity and for the most part no story either. Casey Hudson can't save Andromeda at this point. I don't even think he can save Mass Effect. he knew he was leaving bioware when he made the new ending for me3, he even hinted at the fact in one interview, " the original had Shepard survive the destruction of the citadel" (hence him breathing in the final cut scene of it) "but he was intending to leave the company and wanted to close that chapter" ergo he didn't want anyone to screw with his baby once he left so he gave us the RGB...... and pushed the idea that synthesis was the final solution.... I rather suspect he was always going to return to bioware and only left in order to gain some experience he didn't have at the corporate level to make it viable, certainly the speed of his return has been a lot faster than that of his departure, and will if fortunes provide push out an update to the me3 ending (revert it to the original option without start brat) and then start a whole new game like me3.5 or me4, and probably mea will tie into that as some sort of intergalactic expansion of the newly rebuilt gate network...... with Shepard and co coming out of cryo suspension to fight off the bad guys one more time (well one can hope)

I liked DAI so idk what that says about me That you're not to be trusted. "Single-player MMO" games just tickle my fancy. Give me a bunch of zones with a bunch of bullshit quests to tick off and I'm set. Actually it makes me wonder if MEA had come out as just Andromeda and not a Mass Effect game, I might have enjoyed it quite a bit more.

My point stands either way though

I enjoyed DAI MP too but the loot grind eventually drove me insane and I quit.
And I don't mean the grind in the typical sense, I mean the grinding up of loot to get cloth so I could combine it with eye of newt and unicorn poop or whatever. It was busy work in between me and my goal of getting phat lootz which in and of itself was only a method to make me have more fun in the game part of the game.
Every minute that I spend not hacking dudes with swords (DAI) or blowing up aliens with biotics (MEA) is a minute that I am that much closer to not playing your game. Games like MEA with their slow-ass stores that don't let me bulk-buy, teeter on the brink of me spending too much minutes buying loot and not enough minutes blowing up aliens. Games like DAI with crafting? Fuck. That. Shit.

The dev team eventually took action after a long vacation in the land of sticking your head in the sand, and DAIMP became a mostly enjoyable but rather limited dungeon crawler. But SP at release was [redacted lengthy and irrelevant rant]. Um, I got slightly sidstracked there. What I meant to say was that I agree with you that crafting in DAIMP was dumb. If you're gonna include crafting in multiplayer, at least give us aesthetic options. Why can't I make my Hakkon's wisdom look like a 7 foot penis?
