Wtf is with the game freezing now?

Happens to me on waves 4/5/6 usually on PC. Using Nvidia GPU's here. The crash problems only started happening after 1.09 for me too.

Buy better cooling for your systems or remove dust? Later waves seems to demand a noticeable bit more from the hardware with additional enemies and visual effects from weapons.

(XBOX) Since the start of MEA MP I've always had freezing every match about 1 min into the match, generally while I'm in the middle of combat, but besides that; Nothing. It lasts only a few moments, but it's long enough that I can be downed or lose my combo.

Just for further clarification: I also don't mean the temporary lag spikes that cause the game to feeeze up for a bit and then resume. I mean the game outright freezes solid and you have to restart. Shit sucks.

My card runs at 100 % all the time when having MEA open, even in the menus. I have a similar issue, I often get "DirectX error", which is common when having to high OC settings. But it still appears with no OC, only the factory one...

I had other strange crashes too, one time I was inside Firebase Derelicts skybox, I couldn't move or open a menu, but there were still sounds and flying ships.

MEA crashed a lot before one of the older updates, now it happens again...

Yeah it is kind of wrong when you have to worry about Fiends getting too close.. not because they'll kill you, but because they'll kill your Xbox

Heat can lead to weirdness when pushing the components. I'm on either a laptop or an old shittty PC in warm Japan right now. Had to bring the PC in parts, as the case was big, and of course I didn't bring the CPU goop, so at max it's almost 4 °C above what I'd prefer. Point is, that's exactly too much, and I've experienced ce errors, sudden slowdowns, crashes, and even shutdown, like when I crash in late wave MEAMP. Solution: Set max CPU load to 97%, and it's been rock solid at every task since.

Bottom line: If something is oddly wrong, on comp especially, but also console, heat is a likely culprit. :-)

Now that you mention it, I haven't frozen since I put my xbox on long start up. edit: This must also be the reason I don't freeze on ps4, since that has no quick startup.
