For a "dead" game it sure has gotten a lot of updates and major game changing ones for single player hmm #ThinkingEmoji

For a "dead" game and "dead" series, they're putting an awful lot of time, money, and effort into promoting it at SDCC...

Some people think it is. Some don't. Despite what the naysayers claim, no one knows one way or the other.

Basically, it's Schrodinger's Franchise. Anyone saying it's dead is quoting unconfirmed sources with no additional evidence besides developer silence. Anyone saying it's flourishing and DLC and sequels are coming is speaking from a place of hope and, often, critical appraisal of facts. Either is equally true at the moment. One position takes into consideration the game's sales, official sources regarding the game, and THE FACT that the game is still being promoted and still being supported. The other is rooted entirely in hearsay and promoted solely by people who shamelessly pander to trolls who hurl abuse at the developers and fans. So no, don't try to pretend there's any sort of equivalency. One is based entirely off of common sense; the other is based solely off of a sociopathic selfishness and spite towards people enjoying something trolls don't. Either option is entirely possible. There's evidence to support both sides since we don't know the context or reasons behind decisions. The division of Bioware that was tasked with creating Andromeda has been downsized in favor of other projects. Whether that was planned to happen before Andromeda even had an ounce of negative reviews is unknown. For all we know, it could have been planned to shift more focus into working on Anthem. But it could have been a response to the negative reviews as bad reviews hurt sales. The free trial could be to increase the pool of players to buy DLC. But it could also be EA seeing that most people who are going to buy it have and they may as well give it a free trial to try to get at least a few more sales out of it. No one knows enough to be able to give any conclusive statement.

MP is free. Nobody is obliged to buy points. But it's a fact that MP microtransactions are cashcows. More than 900 million pounds in the UK alone went into microtransactions of any kind in the last year. As long as they can hype MP, they will earn a tidy sum. And if it doesn't pay off at anytime, they just need to pull the plug. I think multiplayer transactions could very well be a bigger cash cow than DLC. On that we can agree. I'd be super interested to see ME3MP profit vs ME3 DLC profit. Some people pay a lot to max their manifest.

The division of Bioware that was tasked with creating Andromeda has been downsized in favor of other projects. Because I haven't had to say this enough times in the past few months: THAT IS NOT UNUSUAL AT ALL. It is completely normal for development studios to assign staff to other projects after a game's release because supporting the game and creating post-launch content (DLC) does not require the full team that developed the game. I'll be quite frank about it: You have been conned by people who sought to deceive you and others into believing that a completely-standard practice at BioWare is a sign of doom-and-gloom.

Yeah that is how I look at it. Would like to see more in the future but not getting my hopes up. I'm still hopeful for DLC and even for a sequel (and will buy either/both if they make them); but I'm also prepared for it to go either way. As I've said before, I already have a game in ME:A that I really enjoy playing and will probably continue to replay many times over. I've already told Bioware how I feel and I have nothing to lose by just patiently waiting at this point. Yeah I'm still hopeful for DLC but I am preparing myself for the possibility there may not be though but either way I'll just continue to enjoy the game as it is and see what happens.

To me the game isn't dead because they still were keeping up with their patch schedule and released 1.09 at the beginning of the month. Other people might have other expectations to indicate the game is dead or not, but that is mine.

Other people might have other expectations to indicate the game is dead or not, but that is mine. Exactly while they're still releasing patches and stuff to generally improve the game there's always the chance things can turn around. I'd like to think that it will but only time has the answer to that.

They need to give it up and just make a remaster of the original trilogy. Worst idea ever.

They need to give it up and just make a remaster of the original trilogy. Worst idea ever. I agree, I think it would get an extremely negative reaction, maybe even worse then Andromeda. I could see "this one thing would be easy to fix" or "why did you change this it was the best aspect of the game" happening a lot and if they just left it alone it would be ripped apart as well because "they needed to do something about his broken mechanic". It really is a no-win situation for BioWare.

Funny, I don't seem to recall saying that it wasn't standard procedure for that to happen. By itself it is not a sign of doom-and-gloom. But sometimes multiple things happen that paint doom-and-gloom. And before you go assuming: there has not been enough concrete evidence to support EITHER side of the is ME:A dead debate. That's my opinion. Just a bunch of events that could be realistically used to support either claim. So how about you stop assuming that I've been "conned", when it's clear that I believe that there is not enough evidence to state otherwise.

There simply isn't enough out there to confirm DLC or no DLC or is the franchise iced or not iced. it really isn't cool how they're letting their own fanbase just nit pick each other.

Honestly, I've yet to see this fanbase take any sort of break from the nitpicking for all the years I've been playing Mass Effect.
