you don't get to choose who are they gonna be. Only the freedom of Choosing how a character kills things is your definition of an RPG? To be fair role-playing covers a wider definition than control over your character. It was pretty plain from the start that we would have to play a pre-defined character. I could also tell, from the start, that this wouldn't be the shining point of the game. Perhaps you want something closer to what BioWare offers? This won't be the game for you. The role-playing aspect is about survival i.e having to actually eat, and the freedom to complete quests how you see fit.

Even though I would prefer making him look the way I would want in a CC, he doesn't look that bad to me. I'm just hoping that we will at least be able to change his hairstyle or even add a beard somewhere down the road. He's pretty bland but unsurprising considering he's a dull nobody peasant.

The role-playing aspect is about survival i.e having to actually eat, and the freedom to complete quests how you see fit. yeah, not for me. I kinda knew that before it came out, but figured I'd investigate closer upon release. It was neat, the different ways to resolve things (persuade vs intimidate vs money) and the chance to try again if you failed at first. But that seems to be the only thing that appeals to me.

Ok, I'm watching gameplay by fav streamer who, as I thought, has early access. If anyone is thinking of playing this game, do not slap / punch any one or any animal without reason / for fun. The protag will always be confronted by guards and either he pays a fine or go to prison. If he goes to prison, story ends right there, game over. If protag gets challenged and fight, it's fine.

What happens if you kill someone and there are no witnesses? Curious I think Henry might be able to get away with it. That situation hasn't come up. I've to wonder though why the devs thought the much nodding of heads during dialogues is the way they talk back then. It looks ridiculous. I'd rather have them shift a bit than the nod nod nod nod.

So, do you actually meet "historical figures" in this? The game boasts this in its description and I scoffed at it.

Yeah, it's already out. Yesterday it was out in Eastern Europe I think? I saw a couple of people on Twitch playing the game, not many though. Today Kingdom Come is the very first game in the list with 60k + viewers. People report issues (you don't say) with the game, like lots of bugs and what not. I'm more curious about performance on PC. The videos of pseudo reviews are rolling on Youtube today also.

The videos of pseudo reviews are rolling on Youtube today also. Ok, I bought it. Combat takes some getting used to; it's more of a realistic watch + movement + opportunity to slash / hit. What is a BIG problem right now is horse controls. I'm sure there is a way to control camera angle but at the moment I'm failing at the horse because I have to direct the horse with directional keys and try to gallop this way and that and yet still see where I'm going. I'm sure I'm getting it wrong somewhere but I'm not getting past this sequence. Died like 6 times already. P.S. Ok, got past it. The problem is to quickly line up player's pov with that of the horse as fast as possible then set him galloping. Once lined up, then the rest is just a straight up WASD and swiftly hitting L-Shift twice to get the horse to gallop.

Is it true that there are saves restrictions? In that case it will be a big "no" for me: when I play a game I want to be able to save and quit whenever I like.

Yes. Consumable or checkpoint. Alternatively, I think sleeping allows you to save?
It's out today. Actually a big thing. It was on the TV this morning, and apparently is the "most expensive show business venture" of our country.

I'm enjoying it so far, once I figured out the horse bit. I also saved Theresa from being raped. I don't know why the players whose early gameplay videos I watched on YT, didn't bother and just galloped away. That's total fail. They didn't even try. The streamer I watched earlier, tried and got killed for it. His viewers gave him some advice / suggestion so he managed to save Theresa and also get away.

Also, spoiler tags ladies and gentlemen.
I'm not likely to be able to purchase the game for a week or two, and from what I saw of impressions, this is a game I wouldn't pirate even if I didn't stop doing so altogether a few years back.

Hmmm, still few reviews.
OpenCritic has it as a 6.9 - interesting elements but serious flaws. (rates less than Mass Effect Andromeda, by the way).

I'm still gonna wait a little bit, if anything until a few more patches roll in and fix some of the bugs.

But what were the major -supposed- selling points in Andromeda? the story I guess and open worldiness, both considered ok-ish at best. For what I gathered most people just liked the pretty graphics and forgot about the rest. And the selling points on Kingdom are highly immersive I guess, and medieval RPG based on historical events? But that can be a double edged sword of course. I'm just speculating of course. Still, most of those "early" reviews are based on a half completed playtrhough at best.

Ye, you use a consumable to save the game. Or proceed to some checkpoint. Consumable?! A game feature which is tied to a gameplay element? Quite a wacky choice, isn't it? And how often you can expect to be able to save? Is there a lot of this consumable in the game?
