There already is an armored compartments. one measly cell + unneeded extra ammo=meh. just give me the +3 cell capacity. I mainly use warfighter for the 10% weapon damage and 20% grenade damage boost or the pistol amp for the 20% rozerad/hurricane boost.

Okay folks, we need to have a serious talk about my favorite pre-1.09 power in the game. Yes, I'm talking about "Avenger Strike". Just like Brett Favre said in his teary-eyed (fake) retirement speech in 2007, "times change and all good things must come to an end.". In that spirit it is time for us to let Avenger Strike ride off into the sunset when it comes to speccing beyond Rank 1. I see way too many pugs who use this garbage build on Platinum. As an avenger, your utility in platinum is to be invisible, fuck shit up, and (when the situation requires) spam sticky nades when you have to do a hack by yourself. Now I'm not just here to complain, I'm here to post a solution to a problem that a lot of Avenger noobs seem to have. So I present, the best Platinum build for the Angara Avenger: Sticky Grenades - 4A/5A/6A Stealth Grid - 4A/5A/6A or 6B* Avenger Strike - LOL Weapon Training - 4A/5A/6A or 6B* Bioelectric Defense - 4A or 4B*/5A/6A *this denotes where personal preference and play style comes in. Use of Siphon weapons makes BioDef 4A a better option for me (also I confess to being a complete and total whore for movement speed) as evidenced in my preference for 6A in Stealth Grid and 6B in weapon training due to the extra power cell. Stay tuned folks as next episode we'll be covering not one but TWO characters in the Turian Havoc Trooper AND the Krogan Mercenary. Whats hard for me to decide is in the passives: 8% weapon damage vs. 20% sticky damage. Not sure there is a huge downside either way. 20% applies to base so 200 damage per nade. x 12 nades a round = 2400 extra AOE damage. Lets say you land 400 hurricane shots in a round with a base a 75 damage base = 30000 damage but with 8% more its 32,400...so you also get 2400 non AOE damage.. I'd go by the weapon. You could split the difference and take the power cell in rank 6 and weapon damage in rank 4...

Best way to play this character in platinum is to turn off your PC, throw it out the window, then jump off your roof. Video or it did not happen.

I still use Pint's build for the Avenger (no stealth grid). If I'm soloing, I'd spec out of AS, if I'm playing with a group or pugging, flash strike has its utilities. When someone's getting Observed/Annointed 3x while rezing a teammate, flash strikes helps a lot. Face tanking hack against Remnant/Ket gets easier with flashstrike. I don't think it's useless when playing with a group. However it's a dump skill when soloing.

It's good CC for Saboteur spam as well. If you walk a corner and see a Saboteur that starts charging his energy drain, set him on fire and walk away.

I find the Krogan Mercenary is also a good 'baby's first non-Infiltrator' character for Platinum. (And yes I play it a lot myself, so yes I'm a baby. ) Flak Cannon may be the best power in the game right now, Flamethrower is also good for redbar CC, and the combination of Fortify + Rage makes him tanky. Your build?

I think the build would be more effective if the AA strike was an actual power attack instead of melee. That, and if you actually had a Tactical Cloak instead of a Stealth Grid. That way, you could spam nades while cloaked, then use AA while having the TC bonus. Then while decloaked, you actually fire a Dhan, or other close quarters type weapon. I don't really see any point to using the AA. If I wanted to jet forward in a blink; I'll use a Vanguard. Even then, a teamamate usually ends up killing the intended AA victim, making it pointless. Not to mention that the animation seems really slow; visually leaving you uncloaked for about a second while the attack animation occurs.
If I want to Sticky spam; I'll use a Salarian, or a Human Infiltrator. So, ultimately, the AA doesn't excel in damage, stealth, or powers.
If I want to go a melee route, I'll stick with a Kromerc and Flak cannon spamming.

Played a platinum on sandstorm today with a wave 6 hack (at the LZ) that I camped with a Tsoldier along with a scrappah.
The avenger and another scrappah mostly stayed on the other side of the map. It went surprisingly wonderful. I'd seen that avenger in lobbies before and knew he was a good teammate. It was the first time I'd played the soldier in platinum, and just the first time in a couple weeks in general, and I played like an AIDS infested monkey. It didn't help that for basically an entire wave I did basically zero damage. I was shooting things point blank in the face and nothing was happening. So I just ran away. It magically fixed itself somehow.
If anyone wants to watch me shoot an annointed in the face, do no damage, (die) then suddenly get credit for killing an annointed orb, then suddenly be able to do damage again, here you go:

Your build? Well this is a thread about the Angara Avenger, but... JRandall0308's Totally Obvious Krogan Mercenary Build That Works on Platinum (more or less)
Flamethrower 4a (Damage) / 5a (Reach) / 6a (Anti-Armor) -- could make an argument for both 5b (Lingering Burn) and 6b (Blinding Heat) Flak Cannon 4b (Power Cells) / 5a (Anti-Armor) / 6b (Shredder) -- 5b (Stunning) is great CC if you want that instead Fortify 1 rank Munitions (passive) 4b (Powers & Melee) / 5b (Weapon Efficiency) / 6a (Sustained Fire) -- 4a (Weapon Training) is also good but I play him as a powers class Rage (fitness) 4a / 5a / 6a -- we're not going to be melee'ing anything regularly and Inspiration is too unreliable
A real Krogan would equip a shotgun but as established I am a baby, so I take the Shadow for my main weapon, and whatever my highest ranked fast-firing Siphon weapon is for a sidearm. The Siphon weapon only comes out at the end of a wave for some free health, or when I'm desperate.
Equipment is Enhanced Munitions to make Flak even stronger.
Boosters are Power Capacity (more power cells, MORE!) and Incendiary Ammo.
And since this is a thread about the Angara Avenger that's all I'm going to say here... make a new thread if you want further discussion.

Unfortunately rage is impossible to keep nowadays. Sure 6a activates it at 33% health, but quite often he's dead after that. Not saying he's bad on plat though, just that relying on rage is dangerous.

I don't really see any point to using the AA. If I wanted to jet forward in a blink; I'll use a Vanguard. So, for example, Firebase Icebreaker. One of your teammates is on the roof near the LZ, crouched behind cover, and gets taken down by a blaze hydra. You are on the other side of the map by the elevated ammo box. Blinking across the map (to that Hydra's location), then cloaking and rez-ing that teammate is probably a good idea (a) if you can do that, and ( unless you would be sacrificing an objective.

You say "LOL" at avenger strike, but that move is excellent for escaping tight spots and you are invulnerable whilst it is in effect Not sure how any of that doesn't apply to a level one AS. er.. what?

I am not just any scrub, though: I AM A SCRUBBING BUBBLE! *ahem* That exact icebreaker scenario was from experience, actually. And, I was playing an avenger with stunning and -85% damage on avenger strike. And, to be honest, there were too many enemies over there with the hydra, and I did go down before I could cloak. So, you were right. Then again, none of this is real, since it is - after all - a just game.

I don't understand what your issue with the Angara Avenger is. Forget about Grenades, it is slow and does low damage. Just zip around the map and melee down one Berserker/Sharpshooter/Saboteur/Anoited after the other. With a booster the shielded units takes only two melee strikes after Avenger Strike. Berserkers also go down in about 7 seconds. Just make sure that they haven't gained stun immunity already. If they focus someone else, you can even melee down Behemoths (which can also be stunned) and Hydras.
I'm pretty sure I haven't failed a single Platinum PuG yet when playing my AA. And I'm usually at the top with 30k+ points.
