Finally got around to researching and testing the dhan after constantly hearing how good it was, and now I'm wishing I had tried it sooner. Love the damage and range for a shotgun, only downside is the low clip size.
Do any of the firing style augments work especially well for it? Was thinking vintage heatsink to solve ammo issues but that might hurt the clip size too much. How are plasma charge or seeking plasma for it? Beam emitter? Grenade mods?

I just started using a Dhan I found in my previous playthrough in this NG+ game. It's a VII and because it's a foundling... has no augments. I'm absolutely loving the damage as well. I am running a spare ammo mod on it and seem to be doing OK in the ammo department so far (hardcore difficulty)... but I do have my Inferno SR on board for infinite ammo backup (and I can use it like a shotgun in a pinch - not as powerful, but I can get buy).
In my experience (with other guns), the vintage heat sink augment really robs a lot of the damage from the gun, so I'm not even going to consider adding it to a Dhan. My investment of points in the combat tree that enables me to carry 4 weapons, IMO, is a much better deal for spare ammo. As I said, I currently have the Inferno along that can substitute as a shotgun, but if I'm doing a lot of shotgun play, I can always just take a second shotgun along... maybe even a second Dhan. I'm at a high enough level now with most weapons that even with the weight I'm still at 100% cooldown. If pinched for weight, I can always use some sort of light materials mod on my SR(s).

"Plasma + 25% Shields on recharge + HeatSink" is all i needed to love this Shotgun. Constantly cycling abilities and firing Shotgun withour needing to recharge the latter is glorious. Edit.: i believe 25% Shields on recharge doesnt stack with Heatsink, so it was only Heatsink for the Cycling, i mentioned. 25% Shields on recharge i had on my Ushior pistol with only 1 ammo in a clip as well.

I don't think the vhs reduces damage, only clip size. My primary weapon right now is a rozerad smg with a beam emitter and vhs. It works pretty well but doesn't have anywhere near the punch the dhan does.

Plasma charge. Makes plasma spread in a cone as a Dhan feature.

Plasma charge. Makes plasma spread in a cone as a Dhan feature. Does it still keep the range and accuracy with that?

It works pretty well but doesn't have anywhere near the punch the dhan does. May have been coincidental (dumping an augment that ups damage like Kinectic Coil in favor of the VHS), but that's what it felt like to me. The reduction in clip size shouldn't be all that noticeable on weapons with small clips to start with though just based on the math. I can't remember whether the VHS works like the remnant weapons, but those weapons always have a round in the chamber and the cooldown is significantly shorter if you don't quite drain the clip before pausing fire. The remnant SRs are a little less powerful than either the MW or Kett counterparts.

Plasma charge. Makes plasma spread in a cone as a Dhan feature. Does it still keep the range and accuracy with that? Plasma's trajectory forms an ark. So you have to aim with some deviation(hope, its the right word). You can no more shoot heads with it, but i dont think, you need to. Its a shotgun after all.

burst-fire augment + bioconverter.
make sure you have at least 3 shots in the clip.
Go nuts.

Though if i recall correctly, i was thinking the same at first, not liking this damage reduction and.... I used the same augments on Isharay Sniper rifle. It performs nice.

I probably wouldn't use VHS on the Dhan because it only has a 3 shot clip to start with. Go for the shield oscillator or the bio converter. I tried the VHS on the piranha and it went from 8 shots to 3, lol.
I'd also steer clear of any augments that change the way the Dhan fires. It already shoots seeking plasma - what more do you need? Just add some kinetic coils for extra pain.

Weapons are not my main damage source, thus are used only to fill the gaps between cooldowns. It just executes a different role. Its great we got such an amazing way to customise and adjust weapons to our own needs.

The versatiliy is great in andromeda you can put any 3 skills together and make a fighting style out of it.

Yea, I focus on tech damage first with incinerate / energy drain for combo detonations and the remnant vi with electrifying beam to help prime, so I'm mostly using the dhan to help take down hardened targets and in between cooldowns

Too good to pass up, IMO Conversely, I found the heat sink really limiting on weapons with smaller clips. As I said, I crafted a Piranha, which normally has an eight-shot clip, and it was reduced to three. On the Dhan it will drop the clip size from three shots to just one (3 x 40% = 1.2, rounded to 1). I get that it effectively reloads by itself while you use powers but I don't feel like one shot is enough between castings. YMMV. On weapons with bigger mags I love the VHS. I used it on my Valkyrie and still had near to 20 bullets in the magazine. It was amazing - I could basically shoot whenever I wanted without worrying about reloading or emptying the clip.

Although, remanant weapons with recharge are really nice to have with the weapon augment which does extra damage for powers if your clip is full. If you're nto shooting --> automatic power boost!

True, that's why I suggested the bio converter as an alternative for the Dhan. I guess I've just always leant towards the tankier style of play than the glass cannon - e.g. I'd rather play a sword 'n board warrior than a rogue in a traditional RPG. Hence my preference for the shield oscillator.
