shinobiwan I still disagree with the argument but thank you for at least making one instead of trotting out the same old tired comparisons. There is a qualitative difference (not just quantitative) between the games. We don't know why, for sure, and no Kotaku does NOT count as a source of truth. In some ways I feel sorry for BWE. They are trying to compete with our memories(*) of a game that caught lightning in a bottle: remember that ME3 MP was an afterthought made with (initially) recycled assets after an earlier game design was scrapped -- and yet somehow ME3 MP was a huge success. BWE had to try to repeat that, and by its nature, you can't: you can't set out to catch lightning in a bottle; it just happens sometimes, and no-one knows why. (*) And let's not forget, ME3 MP had plenty of problems at launch and throughout its lifespan that were never fixed. The loss of the old BSN prevents me from pointing to the direct evidence, but trust me, there was at least as much salt in those days as there is now. But that's the thing, right? ME3's MP was that lightning in a bottle success, and an inexplicably fun game that was more than the sum of its crappy parts (yes, it had more problems than I can remember). And MEA is shinier, and yes maybe you're right that the drip drip gave us nearly the same amount of new stuff, and it has jetpacks and should on paper be better... but it just isn't. And everything feel so... the same? Anyway, it's not just memories competition - I sometimes turn on ME3MP and I am having more fun than here. If I had more friends playing it on the regular, I'd probably abandon Andromeda completely.

Edit 2: You can also keep the flags but change them arbitrarily and the survey will still work Oh wow, I just noticed all your work here crashsuitYeah typically with these query strings in the URL, only the relevant parts will mean anything to the survey collector. So your 'N64' and 'HOW_BOUT_THEM_APPLES' as funny as they are simply won't match anything and will be ignored. Depending upon how they have it set up, that may cause your entire response to be thrown out, or they may accept the response but flag it into a 'suspect data' category... because trust me you are not the first nor only person to muck around with query strings. As for the UID accepting negative numbers and alphanumerics, bleh, sloppy error handling there. They should really only accept digits in their valid range (so 1 to some reasonable positive integer, not negatives, not alphas). You could try to inject code maybe, or some other attack, but that gets into hacking so pretend I never wrote this....

Idk, I'm less sympathetic. It's a sequel. They should have picked up where me3 left off at the least. Instead they picked up where me3 STARTED, and moved backwards on a bunch of things.
Then they make some progress, then undo that progress with a giant F U content dump that throws the game wildly out of balance.
Nothing sympathetic in that narrative.

Edit 3: I played around with the URL some more, specifically the survey number, and got access to some other exclusive(?) surveys. 170706 is huge, took me like 20 minutes to fill it out, covers a bunch of video game interests and buying habits. Dammit Bioware I thought you were trans-friendly!

I don't want to rehash all the jetpack crap, but the whole idea of limiting other things like health and shields because of the jetbacks is all but negated when you consider there are dogs in the game...dogs without wings mind you, who can get to the same places we do with jetpacks. The only thing jetpacks bring to the game is the ability to hover, and all that does is leave you exposed for the insane accuracy skills of enemy units like sharpshooters and observers. It's lazy game design, and it's compounded when they make shit up trying to justify their lazy design. OK JRandall, I'm waiting for you to tell me how I'm wrong.

... you can't set out to catch lightning in a bottle; it just happens sometimes, and no-one knows why. ... IMHO, everyone knows and sees why. Saying that you don't know why is just wrong. ME3 had more talent, more planning, better design, less annoying features, more effort, more care, more space magic. I don't think it came down to money put into its development or some management decisions, no. It had more love for the characters, for enemies, for almost everything. Compared to it, MEA feels soulless, not completely, but generally. It is more flashy, some people like flashy things. Why Mozart was a genius who wrote music that overwhelms everyone for centuries and Salieri is largely forgotten? Why people buy and read and re-read Kapryshin's ME books and curse every time somebody mentions Dietz? I have mine copy of Deception with a bookmark on page 11 sitting on the shelf and I can't bring myself to continue. MEA multiplayer is one large Deception with shiny cover and messed up content. We probably cannot put a single name behind ME3 while for some weird reason, for me, Billy is the one who is strongly associated with MEA multiplayer? IDK now and probably we'll never know unless some Kotaku or whatever will bother to write up some history at some point. And no, I'm not pointing fingers or trying to blame somebody for something that is not their fault. Lack of genius is not a fault but it cannot be compensated with hard work and careful thinking, it is still an art and should remain so until some AI finally takes over.

No, I didn't get it. Why they never send me these survey things? I'm genuinely interested. * SJW mode: on* It's because I'm south american right? is that it? that's just racist, what happened to the diversity and what not?! Wait. There's a SOUTH America? Who knew? 😁

Seems they know they made a hash of things and trying to find a way out.
Questions are how you feel about: Purchasing item packs in-game which contain random multiplayer items Purchasing item packs in the Xbox/PS4 or Origin PC store which list the multiplayer items they contain Item packs that offer a greater likelihood to find a premium item, but that are more expensive than standard packs Ability to buy a specific item, but at a higher price point than an item pack
