why is the Hydra's weakspot on its back?

"Lorewise," the back is a coolant tank.  Strategy-wise, coordinating with a teammate is relatively easy (at least compared to other enemy times) due to how slow and seemingly "dumb" hydra AI is.  In otherwords do this:

On a related note, does anyone know if Hydras are AI driven in game?  Or do they have Pilots like Atluses?

On a serious note I always loved that scene in ME1. It shows that even though Udina was a dick, and even though you end up punching him in the face, he was doing his job of representing Humanity and fighting for Humanity's rights in Council Space.

The 'obstructive bureaucratic whom the protagonist clashes with but who is actually useful (in his narrow field of influence)' is a classic character and Bioware used it well... in the first game.

Then in ME2 Udina is basically a no-show and in ME3 he's suddenly a Cerberus operative which ruins the character. But then, that game ruined all the characters, so....

I always get the destroyer mixed up with the Hydra name wise. I want to be able to get into an Atlas to be able to fight a Hydra, would kick is tin metal ass.

Don't worry. If you are off-host and behind it you probably won't get weak point hits on the tank anyway, except for like every other shot.
