Another unpopular opinion, I think soccer players are overpaid for such a mediocre sport. In terms of wasted money on athletes, USA has a few (basketball, NFL), but by sheer popularity, soccer is the most undeserving of the money splashed onto the players and the like. It's just not that good of a game.

Keep it up, fam. Jokes aside though man, they just plain aren't practical ideas. Someone's got to actually think about solving the problem rather than avoid it by joking about it. Mars wouldn't work because we actually want to go there; think about it. What are two tiny rocks that orbit Mars used for? Or that belt of rocks a bit further out? You also have to think about the logistics of gladiatorial combat here; why not use them for live science, or cancer research, or weapons testing? Be thought provocative! |

To be fair, soccer's got more international coverage as well as a vastly larger no of countries/ clubs competing at an international level than something like basketball or NFL. More coverage and popularity means more sponsorship and revenue from ads etc. Sure they're overpaid but I think the markets setup in such a way as to encourage that, in fact I would say the players are actually only getting a fraction compared to the net money flowing through the business. As for how good of a game it is, I love it and think it's pretty exciting. But I know peeps who hate it and in the end, it comes down to personal preferences. But enough people like it overall to make it the global phenomenon it is. |

Me too! I believe we have a ghost in my house too, though its gone dormant in recent years. Too many odd doors closing, or thinking I see a shadow out of the corner of my eye, instances for me not to think there isn't something here. Sorry mate, but it's non-sense. Ghosts aren't real. Things such as doors shutting randomly or cabinets or whatever have explanations for them. As for thinking what you see, your mind plays tricks on you, and it can screw with you into thinking something that doesn't exist is there. If you think there's a ghost or shadow in your home, naturally, your mind is going to interpret those sorts of things as evidence. Basically, your psyche is jumping to conclusions, when there is a large number of explanations for what you think you saw. I do not believe in the supernatural in any way, shape, or form. I do not believe that there is anything in the entire universe (or multiverse, if proven) that cannot be explained by science. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. I would have given this post a thumbs up if you weren't such a douchebag about it. I agree with what you said but not with how you say it. Besides, Dobby and this other person weren't making extraordinary claims. The only person doing so is you. "I believe in ghosts" is not a claim. "Ghosts aren't real" is a claim. So, champ, where is your evidence that ghosts aren't real? Extraordinacy claims require extraordinary evidence. I'm waiting... |
