Hero of Ferelden/Commander of the Grey: Assume Commander of the Grey if Hero of Ferelden made the ultimate sacrifice. Very unlikely to reappear as he wasn't voiced. Last seem in the deep roads trying to find a cure for the blight.
Alistair: In Ferelden as king, and might show in other regions in quick political cameos. Warden Alistair goes everywhere he is needed, but very unlikely to reappear again after the players who kept him as warden had to choose between him and Hawke. Drunken Alistair was last seen in Kirkwall, with Teagan taking him back to Ferelden. In the comics we saw that his blood was special, so this might be used in the future. Can be just dead.
Leliana: In Orlais either as Divine or as spymaster to the Inquisition. If killed in Origin, she vanishes but kinda promises to be back when needed.
Morrigan: After Inquisition she vanishes, possibly with Keiran around. I really, really hope that Kieran is a companion one day. Like, in Dragon Age 5 or 6.
Sten: Now the motherfucking Arishok. If DA4 is in Tevinter, he will probably show up. Possibly as an antagonist.
Wynne: :'(
Shale: Rumors point to her being in Tevinter seeking a way to become human again. Hopefully she shows up in DA4.
Zevran: Last seem in the Free Marches as per DA2 and Inquisition, but might go anywhere, really. If a future game is set in Antiva I fully expect him there. Can be just dead.
Loghain: Like warden Alistair, I think his chances of reappearing are very diminished now. Probably in Anderfels, though.
Oghren: Set in Ferelden. I always had this image of him as a warden drill sergeant. But with that Dragon Age Heroes image of blighted Oghren, I fear for the little guy.
Nathaniel: Was investigating "warden business" in DA2. Is set in Ferelden, but got to Kirkwall for that investigation. Can be just dead.
Velanna: seems like she leaves the Keep no matter what happens? So who knows? I can see her working with Solas, though.
Sigrun: I think she stays in Ferelden. Possibly vanishes after Awakening. Also, due to bugs she was very likely to die.
Anders/Justice: He might show again. Cole is a spirit who took the personality of a person, so even if dead, Justice might appear as him still. Last seem in Kirkwall, but he probably took the hell outta there. I think there is an art of him like a hobo in a cave, probably as an idea for Inquisition that was scrapped.
Hawke: Went to Anderfels after Inquisition. Explosions ensued. Hope we get to see him yet again, but now there is a chance he is dead in some games (thought small. He probably always trumps Stroud and possibly Loghain).
Aveline: Kirkwall is her home and she is the guard captain. Likes to laugh nearby Varric.
Carver/Bethany: Because their image is tied to Hawke, a cameo might be very trick. If Wardens, were last seem on warden business in the borders of Anderfels. If Mage/Templar, left Kirkwall, at least for a time.
Varric: Now Viscount of Kirkwall. Is awesome and deserves to be a companion of every single game.

Isabella: She gets around a lot. We will probably see more of her eventually, and now it seems she has her own fleet.
Fenris: Likes to drink and kill Tevinter mages. Maybe he will go to Tevinter?
Sebastian: Now Prince of Starkhaven.
Merrill: Remained on Kirkwall, though she is another one who I can see working with Solas. And they have to hire John Barrowman to work with both of them.
Inquisitor: Going after Solas, bare-handed.
Cassandra: Either Divine or helping the Divine. Might have rebuild Seekers.
Iron Fucking Bull: Working with the Chargers around Orlais and Ferelden. Can be just dead.
Blackwall: Might become a Grey Warden, or go around the world paying for his deeds. Heck, I would think he might even actually join the Wardens eventually. If Warden, will go to Anderfels, I think.
Sera: Goes back as being a Red Jenny. Probably stays in Orlais or Ferelden.
Cole: If human, is travelling around Thedas. If spirit, goes back to the Fade.
Dorian: Becomes a Magister in Tevinter. Very likely to appear in DA4, I think.
Vivienne: Either becomes Divine, or builds the Circle of Magi back.
Solas: Oh, you.
Zither: Probably a very important character in Dragon Age’s future. Possibly more than Solas.
The less quantum a character, more chances of him to appear.
