Whoa whoa whoa. This Saalen investigation is going way over my head. STG Agent (Salen?) on Havarl asked me to investigate Aden. But it was circumstantial. Then we investigated Ran Lond's apartment (I forget how he even got involved). That led us to Elaaden. Where we find the "real" Saelen? who says Aden impersonated him on Havarl as well as on the Nexus. He is still implicating Aden, either way. yeah, typing it out only cleared it up a little... Using the scanner on the various pieces of evidence wiped them, eliminating the evidence trail. I'm not sure how or why the scanner does so (seems silly), that's why the guilty party had you scan evidence against himself. |

She let the Ill colonist die. She made a deal with Sloane over the Angaran prisoner. She refused an Alliance with the Primus. She sort of covered up Sarissa's abandonment. Sigh. I know why it's painful. It's because Sara Ryder is going to accept this deal for the Intel (even though he should want to share it, not use it as a bargaining chip but whatever.) And it makes me want to cry a bit. Those Salarians screaming.. screaming in a non Consensual sacrifice decided by Salarian leadership. Reminds me of HZD. It's all just sad. This game is sad. I thought it was supposed to be brighter than The Original Trilogy but there, we banded together to fight the Reapers. Here...I just feel like they were all tearing themselves apart until my arrival. And even then...vicious scars. That's one of my gripes with this game. Serious, dark stuff happens. Then the characters blithely bounce along, chipper as ever, as if completely unaffected. It creates a disconnect for me, at times. I'm not a fan of most of the goofy, cheesy, jokester stuff. |

I can't think of any reason that party composition should impact this. Can you provide details in a spoiler block? I'm coming up with nothing via my online search. I thought I read it on the boards but maybe I misread it. Maybe it glitches if you have a certain combination of squad member, I'll see if I can find it  it's in this thread someone mentions it: bsn.boards.net/thread/8796/dissention-ranks-choiceI couldn't see any validation that it a fact though. I remember I had PeeBee and Cora with me and that is what one of the members was saying caused you not to get a choice: "hm, did they both agree with the plan? cause i brought cora and peebee with me on my second run for this quest and both agreed it would be a good idea to do it, then i didn't get a choice to accept the plan or not." |

That's one of my gripes with this game. Serious, dark stuff happens. Then the characters blithely bounce along, chipper as ever, as if completely unaffected. It creates a disconnect for me, at times. I'm not a fan of most of the goofy, cheesy, jokester stuff. You need the bright to appreciate it compared to the Dark. The game has these super strong hopeful moments. Then they turn around and punch you in the face- Sell your soul for the better of the many or this whole thing will FAIL. Considering the way the Triology went, with all the decisions over the series adding up to an important number, it makes me wonder...are these horrible decisions going to be what's needed to push off the Kett Empire? And didn't we just do this? Didn't we already grimly kill many as we pushed back against an invasion? I'm definitely excited (or was when I had more hope) to see how certain decisions will play out in a sequel. The salarian decision you just made is a big one. There are others, too. I definitely appreciate a lot of the humor. I just felt like it was too much, a bit too unrelenting. I think the writing would've been more even if development had gone more smoothly. Still, the core of an amazing game is present, and a sequel could've addressed all of the shortcomings of MEA. They'd not need to reinvent the wheel for MEA2, so I imagine Development would've been much, much smoother. This thread helped me push through some ennui in my current PT. Reading your accounts of experiencing things for the first time reminded me of this game's many high-points.  |

Thanks for finding that. It looks like I even posted in that thread back in April. I noticed that @ashes2ashes deleted her account. What a bummer. I really enjoyed her posts. So many people seem to have deleted their accounts in the two months I was away. I think it's a bug, rather than story-related. Maybe it's been fixed? I hadn't played since 1.06. I will leave the door open to find out in my current PT. |

I did everything that wasn't a task and I even did a lot of those. Oh ya, I have one more plant sample. *Shakes fist* I'd probably play Scott and pick all the totally feel good hero choices just to avoid the purvailing achey sad feelings this game keeps giving me. No idea who I'd romance. Either Peebee or Kjar? And a 2nd PT kinda belongs in the "what did you do today" thread. I'll be totally spoiled with all the knowledge of what my decisions get me. There is nothing like that first PT...which is what people like about my Let's Plays? Maybe? To bed with me. |

We can't do it again ourselves, but we can get excited/sad/pumped up along with you. I'm glad that you're enjoying the game. I like Cora best with Scott. The Scott and Cora pairing seemed to feature believable chemistry, as if it had been brewing beneath the surface for a while before Alec's death. I liked Cora pretty well from my first PT (as Sara). She and Jaal were great, talkative squaddies on Voeld. I liked her even better, though, after the Scott romance. Her character progression seemed more substantial. I guess that's one of the main benefits of those arcs, after all. I don't find any of the arcs all that compelling in MEA. Jaal's was really well done but kind of creepy and gross. I don't like Liam enough to pair Sara with him, though I'm trying this PT. (We'll see how mad I get at him this time.) PeeBee's was sweet, I guess, but she is sort of a bratty teenager. Only Scott and Cora has even the slightest appeal, for me. This is another game in which I can happily ignore the romantic plots. |
