I like doing these.  Did this for ME2, ME3, and TW3 earlier this year. I did the trial back in March. Quit in annoyed indifference after about 7 hours (specifically when I couldn't get the car to work). Started watching a Let's Play on Youtube. 6 hours into a Cutscenes only video, I decided that the appallingly weak beginning was followed by a very strong middle. It made me want to stop spoilering the game, and discover all this Star Trek-esc content myself. So, I put out some money and here I am. I'm spoiled entirely up to Liam's loyalty mission pretty much. But since it was a cutscenes only yt video I was watching, I suspect there was a lot in between I didn't see. I don't want to spoiled on anything else, please and thank you. CC of Sara Ryder (kept original name so people wouldn't call me Pathfinder.) I plan on being rude and aggressive. Because being Pathfinder is absurd and I'm going to rub it in and see what I get away with. I liked her "sullen teenager" look even if I barely tweaked a preset. CC of Scott Ryder And I made sure the twins had matching, but opposite tattoos. It makes me happy inside. My Ryder is going to express her dislike of Dad Ryder as much as this game allows. Which I know isn't much. And of course, the red eyeliner turned mysteriously black in game.  darn CC. And the game begins with a bang. Open to comments about what order I should do missions, and missions to avoid because they are boring as hell. ^__^ |

Can't remember. Does picking the Logical option all the time affect in between cutscenes auto dialogue?

I like how she just shoves Liam to the ground.
Second attempt at trying to learn fighting controls. Still don't know what double square means regarding how to holster a gun... 4-5 buttons about shooting things. :/ Ugh. I'll get it I'll get it, just not intuitive.

Anyway I don't like the cover system of ME: A. I prefer to get to cover through a button press. Mainly through the auto cover, Ryder gets into these weird angles which makes hard to shoot.

Died twice at the alien structure but ai was stubborn. Gave up last time. Meleed the dogs and mostly hid and let Liam kill the kett.
How are the supplies/remains of a shuttle inside this cave with Greer...
Sigh. So much dying on casual. Made sure to get proximity mine instead of grenade since those explode in my hand

Picked operative cuz it gives me tactical cloak right off the bat. ah thanks. How does it measure up to infiltrator from ME1 & ME2? Only played Vanguard and Adept in ME:A myself. The Infiltrator profile is awesome - I had to force myself to not use it in order to try out vanguarding. It lets you see enemies behind walls or otherwise hidden if your weapon has a scope, which, if you are sniping, it always does. Also, I discovered Tac Cloak about half way through my Insanity run and it made a huge difference. Lots of fun, imo. |

Using the jetpack to get away from enemy fire helps. It can also put you behind them where you kill them easier

Finally figured out how to holster ad switch weapons. The zoom helps me so much even if I'm super slow. I'm not certain sniping is ... Ignored. Like, crouching isn't so good for it...
It's interesting how the artists represent near death experiences with these scenes of... Nerve endings I guess
Still think Lexi? Letting an AI be hardwired into Ryder is nonsense.
Said "wasn't close to dad." This will make the total lack of grief almost believable.
Then said I'd only be Pathfinder if Cora agreed. She said she'd step aside and respect Alec's decision. Good. Means I can hate her for being a hypocrite later.

They have no power to most systems until the ark docks.
Whatever you do, don't try and hunt down every icon on the map right from the start. Often you'll end up with a whole cluster in one location that the story will either take you too, or you will be enroute.
Bear in mind everything under 'tasks' is entirely optional and is more akin to your generic fetch quest.

Addison is still a brat about Ryder becoming Pathfinder though.

Dad Ryder gets the good speech writers assigned to him, I see. Inspirational Alec: Literally dying here. Kinda odd- low air /=/ toxic air. Final shot of daddy Ryder Archon thinks special handshake will open the door. If he were a real bad guy, he'd kill everyone there for witnessing him embarrassing himself. Exactly one scene of grief. I'd like to think she's just glum at the missed opportunity her dad's obsession with anything that wasn't family, caused. Now this is all MY problem. |

Aliright. So my list of initial problems:
Terrible at combat--- I'll make myself better, but this crap isn't intuititve by a long shot
no real grief from Ryder: I lean heavily on "the absent dad" schtick to make sense of the lack of complete destruction a parent's early death should bring. I will imagine that Scott was closer.
Cora should have been the Pathfinder: lucked out on the dialogue where she specifically says she steps aside and respect Alec's decision
Should be more upset with SAM: ya, no real way around this. I did at least make sure he wasn't going to take over my body but that's a trust relationship ain't it, just taking his word for it.
Awkward Dialogue: I'm going lots of Logical Professional and only picking casual if it sounds rude. No miss nice lady here. Attempting to avoid total goofball moments. Hoping anyway. I've been okay with it so far. I picked a lot of heart options my first attempt back in March and rolled my eyes a lot.
A third watching of Vetra making the promise to that guy to bring his kid randomly to the front of the line still seems shady. I am left wondering if we'll ever see her follow through on it.
