Hi there guys.
In order to make some characters viable for Platinum difficulty, I think we (players) should be making suggestions to the Mass Effect Team. We should think about what changes are needed in order to make all characters viable choices for platinum games. There are a lot of characters to play, but when it comes to playing platinum difficulty, only a few are playable, which shrinks the diversity of play styles and, because of this, the overall fun in playing multiplayer.
In this case, I would like to talk about the Kineticist character. Which we all now is one of the worst character to play platinum with (and even gold maybe). And it´s because not only she's one of the worst characters handling armored and even some shielded enemies (she relies 100% in special ammo cards to combo both enemie types), but her Ascention status is totally useless in platinum games. She just can not stay ascended for more than a few seconds in platinum. And this is her real problem.
Her biotics are not even so powerful to justify all the 'Ascention mechanic' either... Too much effort just to be able to throw lower enemy types into the abyss, enemies which most other character can just easily wipe out with their guns or biotic combos, in many cases killing them in less time than her "pull/throw" action by the way.
So, in order to fix this problem (for the sake of multiplayer game diversity and overall fun) I think:
1. The Ascention mechanic should be discarded. Kineticists should be Ascended all the time, as if it was a passive power. 2. If that is two much, at least she should not loose the Ascention status when her shield breaks. She should lose the Ascention status only when killed. And the requeriments to Ascend should be symbolic... like killing 2 or 3 enemies in the worse case scenario.
Well guys, some feedback is welcome.
And post your suggestions about how to make the entire roaster of characters playable in platinum!

I forecasted this way before platinum got released. Every other character, i repeat EVERY OTHER KIT can be worked with and is platinum viable. This weak ass kit is plain frustrating.

One approach would be to start tailoring veteran bonuses to each class. What if Kineticist had +40% shields, +40% shield regen delay reduction, and +40% weapon damage (to help deal with shields and armor) at XX? or, if we're being creative with the veteran bonuses, why not +100% weak point damage? Or more? Then all of a sudden she might become a really interesting high-skill (or at least on-host) weapons platform with crowd control capabilities.

This will probably sound heretical, but...
I wouldn't mind seeing power and combo damage buffed and cooldowns shortened to the point where it would be possible to play some kits as pure (or nearly so) casters with little use for weapons. I enjoyed a few runs of the OT where Shepard was primarily a caster, and rarely fired a weapon - and I found it a lot of fun. Along those lines, enhanced melee could be fun, too.
It would also greatly reduce reliance on the RNG gods.

I love pure casters too and try to play them whenever possible. The issue with Kineticist though is her powers are no good against shields and armor. Imagine if, instead of Lance she had Singularity. Or instead of Pull she had Singularity. NOW, you could save her as a caster since she would have some good AOE anti-armor/shield powers. But with her current set she's mostly only really capable of dealing with redbars.

Well to be honest, even if the Veteran Bonus was changed, it will matter not a lot. Ascension is still keyed to Shields never having collapsed in the first place. No amount of Shield Bonus will help there for Platinum.
I would say a weapon of some kind is required that suits casters more, especially one like the Kineticist. Black Widow is nice for stopping power, but reload is the killer.
If there must be a change, I would instead propose something akin to the following:
Whilst ranked in Ascension 6a and activated: Pull, Throw and Lance "splash" effect now primes enemies whether Armoured or Shielded for 3 seconds. Your Biotic Detonations now stun for 2 seconds. This limits this effect purely to the Kineticist that specialised into Ascension 6a, not even for all Ascension Kineticists. This essentially turns the Kineticist in Ascension 6a into a rapid detonator in all situations for crowd control as well, as they can now prime and detonate as fast as they have shields as in Ascension. Really useful for when you have someone who can restore Shields. However, this doesn't have the reduced costs of Ascension 6b, meaning you can get knocked out of it quickly if not careful. For the direct confrontation Kineticist.
Whilst ranked in Ascension 6b and activated: Ascension DR (130) persists for another 6 seconds and all cooldowns are reduced by 75% for this period of time after Shield collapse. This essentially turns this Kineticist into a very survivable character, as they are less likely to die after a Shield collapse. Permitting those who prefer the XCOM Sniper way of play (by taking your sweet time) to not have to run around all day long after losing Ascension. Although still not direct way to deal with Shields and Armour, it does let the Kineticist after losing Ascension to more quickly (via more aggresive play offered by the cooldown reduction and DR for 6 seconds) regain it.
Both offers something very different for those playing different ways with the Kineticist in Platinum. Either affect everything (but very gingerly as your Shield can collapse easily), or regain Ascension more easily because you are very hardy (afford to take some hits in Platinum) and can spam powers for a bit (to remove or detonate).

Those are pretty good ideas.
