Hidy ho all,
I can't speak for anyone else, but I always struggled with this idea of improving myself. Finding the drive, or ambition to change my life in a drastic way.
Lately I posted on my recent attempts at weight loss, and I'm trying a new tactic. Then, watching some old videos from a newly favorite youtuber, I found he made a similar suggestion to my approach 6 months back.
And I think he puts it so much better then i can:
Its not exactly complicated. But that was my struggle. I always viewed weight loss as some monumental undertaking. Something that required me to change my entire diet overnight, or to upend my life and start doing insane workouts.
With my new approach, I'm not doing any of that. I'm not trying to change everything about myself in one go. I'm taking baby steps, one step at a time. And I'm accepting this is going to be a long term approach. I'm not going to lose weight overnight, its going to take months if not years. But I'm never going to do more then I can. And I'm certainly not trying to do this all at once.
I wanted to share this video, because he lays out how you can apply this to anything. Saving money, studying, working out, losing weight, and pretty much anything else you can think of. And its my hope that someone on this forum, looks at this, and sees a way to something they thought was impossible.
Have a good one all.

If you want to lose some weight, run everyday. It is very simple, but effective, and above all it's for everyone. It will dissolve the fat, and flatten the belly, muscle your thighs and your legs.
Sweating a lot is a great thing to lose weight, and running is excellent for that. In my city, it's really not surprising to see a lot of men and women in their 40s and 50s running to keep an excellent form and an excellent shape of their body.
Good nutrition also plays a role. It's too often underestimated. I often see people complaining that their results are mediocre while eating like pigs at the same time they try to lose weight, praticing a few exercices. Having a terrible diet isn't necessarily required, but eating better will certainly help.
Being aware that it will require a few months is already really good.

Just pick one thing to change. "Oh I think I will have milk instead of cream in my coffee." Leave everything else the same. A month or so later. "I'm going to not put mayo on my sammiches." ETc Re working out, I endorse wight training to go hand in hand with cardio and the only advice you need to start out is to show up at the gym or in your home. Just show up as often as possible, don;t worry about anything else.

It really isn't though, running is not for everyone enjoyment wise or physical ability wise. The person should choose what they enjoy. Nutritionists have totally and utterly failed in their approach over the years because they say "diets don't work, don't go on a diet and then promptly tell the person to eat fruits and veggies and such which is in fact a change in diet. Find a physical activity that you enjoy or can put up with, make very small changes in your diet over a long period of time.

Find a physical activity that you enjoy or can put up with, make very small changes in your diet over a long period of time. When I state, it's for everyone, it's one of the easiest exercices, that requires little efforts except praticing it everyday.... ( at your own tempo ) If you really hate running, then just forget it. But yeah, I totally advise running if you aren't that " disgusted " by doing that. As for the person should choose what they enjoy. ... Yeah, we have different standards then. When you want to lose some weight, it's not for fun, it's not a game, it's not for the sake of it because you suddenly had this idea. There is little that is fun with that. Most people that would like losing weight do not enjoy exercices and do it because they have to, that's it. They in general pratice what they can do and what they think might help the most, is effective, not what they enjoy.... That type of mindset isn't serious to me, the training won't last like I've seen so many times, and I can already see how the result will be mediocre. I don't give advices, for the sake of it, to please someone, I give advices when i think / know it is effective. That's the point. The guy who needs absolutely to enjoy something to love weight is still allowed to not listen, that doesn't affect me in any way. As for your point with nutritionists, not sure it has anything to do with what I said. Having a good alimentation is effective and helps, it's a fact, not something up to debate.
