Oh good, I wasn't the only drinking early today...well, early for me. I don't know what time zone the rest of you are in.
And, like Cyan, I totally believe. Gotta keep the hope.

"Working on MEA" could mean fixing bugs or MP, and "when we can talk about it (single player content), we will" could mean another disappointing outfit for Ryder or even "we'll never be able to talk about it, but I'm not supposed admit that."

I just had a thought... if the mods think this will cause problems... delete it at your leisure. I speak before I think... I know, I know... must work on this. Anyway, I don't want to create a problem. Just know that I know that all of you know... August 3rd, Uncle Cyan called it. I'm not Nostradamus. I'm no prophet or messiah. I'm only human and my speculation is going giggity. I like your brand of crazy. It goes well with mine. Let's see. Imma try to math it out. Q4 ended at the end of March. Quarters are three months. We just got the Q1 info at the end of June, so that math checks out. So Q2 will end at the end of September. September 4th. OMG. EA IS GENIUS. Okay, okay... EA is a subtle in their seduction this time around. Well played. Well played. Are any of you following along or am I wandering this desert alone? Sooo... Do you mean to say they'd want to release it this quarter because revenue? Hmm... Remember!

Read the twitter feed. Nothing official. A direct question was asked and there is no reason to deny it's existence at this point. We're too far out from launch, but not quite in the next quarter. That's my logic. This realistically could mean anything and at best, it's just an interesting choice of words. However, I will allow your gross speculation on my forum so long as you post an appropriate amount of dank memes.

"Working on MEA" could mean fixing bugs or MP, and "when we can talk about it (single player content), we will" could mean another disappointing outfit for Ryder or even "we'll never be able to talk about it, but I'm not supposed admit that." Rolenka, you have a strong case right there. In the past, like just five months ago, I agreed with a lot of my Patreon recipients. Without ever hearing a word from the developers, I saw the game polished to the point that it was an excellent platform for DLC deployment. As a matter of fact, I don't expect ONE DLC... My internal gut and logic voices are screaming, "Two major DLC and a bunch of little goodies." While my optimistic side is screaming this... the negative side is saying, "And yes... it's going to cost you $14.99 for a reskinned armor and a sniper rifle." EA has changed it's image over the years. At first it was a "Desire Demon" cajoling the doctors. Then it became some sort of "Mother" of the new studio. Then it evolved into some sort of "Archdemon" without talking to the fandom. It just calls out to us to spend money. Now... I think it's changed again... (Just got an idea for a thread... SofaJockey and the rest of the mods: Here I come with another question!)

It'd make sense to have the DLC this quarter in truth, so that each quarter Andromeda keeps generating more revenue. We've had the soft relaunch recently, a DLC would make sense sometime in the next month. I would say revenue from multiplayer is enough to keep it going for now. And this soft relaunch EA are trying. Come the end of this year, and early next, Bioware are going to want something more to keep the dollar signs rolling before Anthem releases... Goddamn it, I'm actually to starting to think that DLC is possible again... I really want to keep believing but some of the news makes me seriously depressed about the whole mess again

Fair warning LogicGunn is more than a little tipsy cause we went to see Sister Act on stage. But I'm with you Uncle Cyan!We need DLC and closure and Quarians and Drell and lots of Batarian eyes staring at us and I fucking love Ryder she is my girl and Shep would be proud of her and Anderson would give her a flag for being a pioneer and Liara would add her name to her time capsule. And can we please just be nice to each other on here cause I love reading and posting on this board but whenever people get excited other people rain all over it and I'm excited and hopeful but if there is no DLC that's ok too but so many threads get out of control and locked when we talk about DLC. It's totally cool to be hopeful and totally cool to be over it and it's cool to love or to hate MEA or a bit of both. We're all gamers. We're all cool. x Also I'm going to bed before I get soppy or something. I'm also drinking and love your avatar gif a lot Thank you. 😀 The film is one of my guilty pleasures. As is ice cold cider, which is what I'd bring to a BSN piss-up.

Also tbh I'm kind of getting ready to move on now given there are other games coming up soon that I am interested in. That dosen't mean I won't come back and play the game again and buy anything DLC related that does come out. Because I enjoy the game too much not to. It just means I won't be watching out for it quite so closely.

It just means I won't be watching out for it quite so closely. I get that. Too bad EA's marketing doesn't care enough. I bet their mantra is to look at the big picture. What exactly are they picturing? It's not rooted in reality. It's rooted in broken surveys, sales data and marketing buzz words without actually knowing what the brick and mortar stores are saying. They don't even have their own forums to gauge fan's responses. Twitter... so what? They censor who they don't want to hear from. I'm hopeful that there is some changes, but I'm telling you from my perspective: Out of the 14 guys and ladies that I pen-and-paper with (half are D&D Forgotten Realms, the other half are table-toppers) NOT ONE likes BioWare anymore. They're all saying the same thing: "It's not BioWare anymore. It's EA with the BioWare logo. EA is (fill in your favorite derogatory remark)." When I USED to go into GameStop, the CSRs would roll their eyes when I mentioned BioWare. It's like they died and they're all saying, "... it's a shame." I'm going to the gaming shop this morning. I don't expect anyone to change their opinion on EA. They did finally admit that Andromeda is a good or great game, but EA's reputation and BioWare's most recent spectacular train wreck at launch hasn't helped one bit. Someone with a professional background told me that the IPs are still valuable and you can bet one of them is going up for sale in the next three or four years when EA decides that three or four year long investment cycles are too long. That's the big picture and I wonder how far off from reality as compared to EA's. I'm not stating fact. I'm stating personal perception and echoing what my social circle has been telling me. And the above is my own speculation and my speculation has been running hot lately.

I have to wonder if EA is telling the truth about MEA's success, why not make DLC? If DA2 got DLC, why not this one? It just does not makes sense EA would pass up the opportunity to squeeze several million or more out of this game . . .
I understood that usually game developers/publishers go into the process with DLC as almost certain, even Watchdogs 2, Sniper 3 got it, and they did not do well commercially . . . so what is the problem with EA and maybe not doing DLC for Mass Effect for the first time in any of their franchises' history?

What happens after DA4 when they start wrapping up Solas' storyline? It's looks like definite bookend of that IPs main narrative. After that you have Anthem, with supposedly a 10 year commitment, and dangling narrative threads of Andromeda. They have some room to maneuver here without selling off IPs.

There's no way that lying is worth it for them; lying about financials can screw over management the moment a disgruntled employee leaks the real numbers. But a lie wouldn't be necessary. EA booking a boatload of revenue for ME:A and ME:A not making its projected revenue are not incompatible facts.

I think MEA made a lot of money, but made a lot less money very quickly (eg suffered a huge sales dropoff after initial backlash) and didn't make the numbers they were privately aiming for. That doesn't mean it was a financial failure as they would have to admit that, but the downward curve of sales might be so drastic that their understanding is dlc would be unlikely to recoup the money it would cost to make.

No reason to believe they are lying about this because when a game doesn't sell well they stated this, like they did with DS3 and Titanfall 2. But about DLC....who knows, apart from Bioware and EA.

Only it didn't suffer a huge drop off in sales compared to relevant games like ME1-2-3, DAI etc. They made 25 million more in revenue than they expected and "blamed" it primarily on MEA.

I believe...especially after I heard the Quarian message. They wouldn't dare just leave us hanging...right?
