Similarly, how about an "Upgraded Bosses" Apex modifier where all Destroyers become Progenitors, all Hydras become Blaze Hydras and all Fiends become double Behemoths? How does matchmaking work? Are we ‘region locked’? (is it possible to be matched from Europe to U.S.A., or Asia/Pacific to U.S.A., for example) DiscoBabaloo: JRandall0308 i think it depends on platform/servers incl xb/ps, but i dont think its locked - however, it has a very high weight on same region to help reduce latency

Apparently a lot of Japanese/Chinese players gave the game up because they don't understand English. @matobar ultimately the decision of which lang (or countries) to release in sits on the EA/local publishing offices, i'm not aware of adding more lang to the game at this point :/ biggy_dx: DiscoBabaloo Could we see more uncommon characters in the future? Just having different skillsets would suffice.

On variant weapons, Bastiaan on reddit: “currently has a very small (less than 10%) chance to drop a variant IF you have rank 10 guns.” Unclear what this means. Can you clarify? - referred to Bastiaan There is a very small chance you get a weapon variation before - weapon variation are in backup pool. if you've done all your weapons. First criteria if you have to have 1 at rank 10. Second criteria there is a very small chance. Did that because otherwise people would wait a very long time before they would see any variants. (still dunno what this means) --- (not sure what this is an answer to) DiscoBabaloo: @galebazz maybe something we can look for future titles, but comes with considerable costs & overhead on the team - I'm biased but mp is still a secondary mode for mea so the decision was made to keep it same as me3

I'm curious what the pool of unlocks looks like across your player base. DiscoBabaloo (i understand if that info cannot be shared) DiscoBabaloo: @musikfreak007 depends on player style, lots of players chase 'breadth' (collect everything), but there's others who stick to a few (to the point of not even opening reward packs etc anymore). in terms of adding items to pool though, we see players running out of (new) things and that's one of the biggest drivers for players leaving - i guess getting bored with whats there. does that help?

biggy_dx: DiscoBabaloo The Bulwark weapon variant is very restrictive in its bonus, with it only proccing near teammates; as well as having a small proc radius. Could we see changes to this variant to emphasize its defensive role (ex. Adding to Max Shields/Health bonus)? DiscoBabaloo: @biggy_dx we're looking at the variants data coming in - can't say for sure which changes we will make yet though

Matobar: DiscoBabaloo People want enemies we've tagged with damage to die on Extraction, similar to how it was in ME3. Have you looked into this at all? (seriously?! lolololol) DiscoBabaloo: @matobar ha, ya we did - a few things actually, from disappearing them, dropping dead etc - in the end the fade out was least 'bad looking' but also didn't hit performance the same way as insta killing all the remaining enemies (if you had a lot left)

biggy_dx: DiscoBabaloo Can the new weapon mods be added to their own packs (purchasable with credits)? If not, can the MF payout of Strike Team/APEX missions be increased? Maybe 5/10/15 for Bronze thru Gold missions, and 10/15/20 for APEX missions. (haha exact opposite of what I just asked) DiscoBabaloo: @biggy_dx we're looking into the pricing of a few things, but the benchmark we used was based on someone using app + in-game (basically all ways possible), and that you should be able to get more MF than needed (or accumulate over a week)

A few thoughts: (1) 65 hours? I'm all for repeatedly making the point that variants bloated the manifest and some unlocks take too long, but someone who just started isn't gonna make that point with a lot of force. (2) WTF is he talking about re the idea that some players "chase 'breadth'" and others "stick to a few" [regarding unlocking content]? Does he not know how the unlock system works in his own game? Aside from rarity we have absolutely no control over what we unlock. (3) Do they legitimately believe: (a) a lack of content is driving people away at a higher rate than manifest bloat; and ( that almost strictly-cosmetic variants of existing weapons was the solution to that problem rather than actual new content?

Uggh, no. It's not because the packs were dropping boosters instead of Rank VII bulwark weapons that people were/are leaving. It's because you release like one new kit and gun a month and that's not enough to hold anyone's interest, especially when that kit is all reused powers and generally isn't interesting or effective.
