Thats not an issue for me, but thanks for your intelligent response. My problem is people getting over. Yet all you trolls, so far everyone in this thread, seem to defend these participation awards. You all must benefit greatly.

I miss the olden days on old BSN with better, more amusing trolls. The closest on uBSN seems to have been vegas and his execution was very poor, too.

JUST IN CASE you're new to Mass Effect Multiplayer and you're not aware of the co-op gameplay...

Debuffers make the enemies easier to kill for YOU. That includes Human Adept's powers, the flamers, the snap freezers, etc. You kill faster thanks to their powers and your games are a lot shorter than without their powers. The next time you see a Batarian Scrapper in game, follow him around and kill the enemies he snap freezes and see how easy it is to kill. So they earn their assist points even if they double dip. On higher difficulties, they're most welcome.

Just in case you're going after the support points next, they help YOU as well. Support points from Shield Boost and Stealth Grid help you stay alive longer, and in turn churn out DPS longer, and in turn score higher, complete the game faster. It's a treat when you have a Salarian Operator in Gold games, and it's a strength in Platinum games. If you're playing the Asari Adept, Human Kineticist or anyone that can benefit from getting shield on demand, you'll be grateful to have a shield booster on your squad. They earn their points by helping keep you alive.

Objective waves make you money in this game. Those teammates who do objectives are literally making you money. In addition, while they take care of the objectives, you're free to kill and earn high score. Don't see the problem here. They LITERALLY make you money and they definitely earn their points.

About scoring: this is a co-op game. High scoring is the icing on the cake while completing the matches, making credits and XPs are the main course.

(Those ribs make me hungry!)

Small addition: Assist point rather add to your score than anything else. So if you're not coming in first in a match, the cause will never be getting (too many) assists...
