Also, avengers that rely on grenade spam need to try leaving SG at 1 instead of completely gutting their melee ability. Can have 6 SG capacity with either grenade capacity equip or gold power capacity, and still be able to melee berserker to death before the stun from AS wears off. Here's my Avenger build. SG and AS both maxed, and works great on platinum: 6/6/5/6/3 SG: damage, capacity, anti-armor AS: recharge, flash, disrupting Grid: power cells, stealth grid WT: powers & melee, armor & targeting, power specialist BD: (3) Use Grenade Capacity booster and have 8 stickies/grids. I ran before with stickies at one, and then AS at one, but this build is the best of both worlds. This is really up for personal preference, but losing +50% melee damage alone from BD5b is not viable if you are planning to aggressively melee. I am however likely going to respec SG to 3 and BD to 5 with everything else similar to what you've listed.

The kineticist and gladiator were considered the weakest kits on platinum. However, I had a 30k+ score and beat the scores of three 25k+ AP score grenade spamming Angara avengers ditherin about in a pug lobby with my human kineticist yesterday. It was so funny, the looks on the faces of the Angara Sorority party when i BEAT EM ALL! How did i beat the Angara Avenger Sorority....HOW? Well, I had a rozerad w/barrel/scope (weapon 1) and hurricane w/barrel/scope (weapon 2). Equipped a incendiary ammo 1 for priming and a pistol damage 2. Damn, she looks so sexy with the 2 pistols. So fking cool! SO GUYS, DON'T WRITE OFF ANY KIT! Don't be a TIER WH*RE! Be a CHARACTER LOYALIST. And don't forget to COVER YOUR BRAIN beaches. But seriously, pack a multicapacitor with any kit perceived to be ultra squishy and you're good to go. Kineticist Build bsn.boards.net/thread/12556/solved-human-kineticist-platinum-difficultyi posted a pre-platinum build for the gladiator some time ago (Just replace Adaptive War Amp with MultiCapacitor and you're good to go .You need it to live on platinum and use shield powered nova efficiently. Replace Ruzad with Piranha and carry a rozerad/hurricane for a backup weapon. ) bsn.boards.net/thread/11545/krogan-gladiator-bamf-buildYou had 3 Angaran Avengers on your team. Take a breath, let that sink in. Who was capping the objectives, res'ing you and lowering Boss HP with grenades? So you cleaned up with your high DPS weapons after they softened them up for you. Yes, any kit can do that. Now, please go try a platinum match again with your Kineticist in a lobby where none of your allies have stealth grid or cloak. Make it interesting and choose Firebase Paradox so the hack circles appear in the centre of the map. Tell me how it goes. Better yet, put it on Youtube.

When I see cloak/stealth grid on Plat, I know I'm playing with players that lack confidence. "Beating" them is not an accomplishment. That said, having played with you, I know you're a good player and I stand by any argument to expand kit variety on all difficulties. I can't stand them cloaking cowards. Come on. Be reasonable. You really think people are using cloak classes in Platinum just because they are scared of using other classes? I would understand more if they were actually scared to waste their time and simply choosing most efficient and easy way to finish a platinum game. I've beaten platinum with each character (i have all of them unlocked). Of course its possible when you take enough firepower and mods. Is it fun though? Fuck no, it's a chore. Especially the Hack/Upload objectives. Do i prefer clearing platinum matches and hack/upload waves with cloak/stealth grid characters for fast credits to get my favourite guns maxed sooner? Absolutely. Fun is when you can dual wield 2 Rozerads or 2 Hurricanes (1 concussive, 1 siphon). Fun is when you can relax a bit, knowing you've accomplished the hard part and you're on the home stretch to unlocking the rest of the lame weapons. Fun is when new UR guns and UR characters get released and you know you can jump straight into MP and be able to test out those new treats and not have to wait 100 hours of grind time.

The maps that have spots that are a reasonably safe to hide and draw aggro on are Paradox, Sandstorm, Magma and Derelict. Vertigo however will make things interesting.

Myself and the guys on my friend list, we do plenty of hacks exclusively with a non-cloaking team. It all comes down to using your fking head for a minute (a.k.a stimulation of your neural networks for a minute). 2 guys defend specific positions outside the hacks (no, hanging out on the other side of the map doesn't help), 2 guys do the hack and provide support fire for the 2 guys taking all the aggro/defending outside the hack zone. I prefer to play with these guys on my friends list because they have this extremely simple fking strategy down. We've done it many times on all the damn maps. I think i even put a thread on here about this some time ago. But, for a guy like you, there's no hope left (Assessment: Insufficient number of active neural networks). On the bright side, there's another room left in the scrub-lord motel and its free. Check yourself in. God bless.

Now that Berserker Package is out, I get some more melee damage, plus 15% more damage for my Shorty X. Replacing the Grenade Capacity booster, so now I just use a Power Cells booster and Melee booster. Not quite the 50% melee boost from BD 5b, but still, I feel, a much more rounded build this way.

There's more than one way to do it but why torture yourself with less efficient methods in pug games? I choose not to and i'm happier and richer for it.

Now I see where the disparity is. I am running AAvenger X, and my UR manifest is awful (I STILL don't have shorty). So I am relying on melee as main source of damage against everything that's not a boss or observer, reegar with disruptor ammo for observers/destroyers and grenades for either large clusters of enemies or Hydras. If avenger is closer to XX and you have high URs, you can sacrifice a lot of that melee damage from passives (due to having additional 40% from veteran bonuses) and make it into a viable weapon platform against all targets on top of everything else.
