We have the ability to select enemy faction, difficulty, and maps to play on. Additionally, I'd like to be able to select mission modifiers for extra challenge and credits. It seems like many are just coming in for daily apex missions, which leads to replaying the same thing repeatedly in pug matches. Not sure this can revitalize the player-base much, but anyone else want something like this?

Yes, I actually would. It would be even better if the game provided some sort of telemetry screen afterwards (no. of players participated, no. enemies killed and so on)...

Everyone would just bring their Hurricanes or Rozerads and set it to Pistol Skirmish and mop the floor with whatever enemy

Well could be fun I think! I did enjoy that silver challenge with the three modifiers and four objective waves on Paradox, despite the low payout, so why not?

Let’s face it. Some people tune in, check the Prestige menu, deploy the appropriate character or search for the specific map, get the points and then bail.
Why not have challenges that are a little more persistent (week long or weekend long) but fall within the realm of what we are already doing?
• Explosion challenge (big bota booms---everywhere, right after a sale on priming ammo) • Weak point challenge (I just figured out the backs of many enemies are also weak points) • Boss challenge (might be helpful if the devs created special matches with 50% more bosses and 100% less dogs) • Melee challenge (flip side of the Boss challenge, fewer Bosses but Red shirts are everywhere and ripe for sticking)
I realize these sound just like the Apex matches. My issues with the Apex matches is the enemy make up (budget) is the same as any other match. The players just have to contend with some Weak/Strong character/weapon setup. These are fine but just highlights the potential of what could be done. (I find the “gimping” of things to create variety a bit lame. It appears to be a common thread taken by the devs in this game but that is another thread altogether. )
It is possible to scale the challenges so everybody gets to participate but the rewards are truly worth the effort.
Example challenge reward ladder: Bronze—50 Silver—200 Gold—500 Platinum-1000
I realize a 1000 bosses in a week might be a bit much but it gives the “elite” players something to really brag about.
Last point: If we have such events the reward must be worth the effort. I am unfamiliar with the Bioware version of events so suggestions are welcome.

I'm all for it: it's reminiscent of the ME3 Weekend Challenges (did you ever get to play those?). And - by all means - make it 1,000 bosses in a week! We'll curry...

Play as a Quarian, volus or Vorcha for 21 waves reward, 27 ultra rares, 10 gazillion challenge points, and free promotes.

Yesterday I didn`t turn on this game for the first time since I purchased it.
Mainly because daily challenge is SHIT.

Didn't ME3 have bonus payout for random instead of setting specific map/enemy? At the very least they could port that. But yes, now that we have modifiers, it would be nice if they added at least some basic ones. Weakened team/One life/weakened weapons/weakened powers/no replenish/no ammo boxes
Pile these into tiers (ie can't stack no replenish for ammo boxes with empty ammo boxes), let players select one from each tier.
Only issue I have with weak point challenge suggestion is that stupid off-host headshot bug.

Only issue I have with weak point challenge suggestion is that stupid off-host headshot bug. I did not know about the orange X that shows up in the cross hair until a week ago. Nine weeks of playing a couple hours a day and I didn't see it...I felt like such a smuck. Since then I have noticed the orange X showing up on the most unexpected of places. Last week I was having all sorts of luck with weak spot kills on Outlaws by aiming at their waists (from the front). It was working on Pariahs, Sharpshooters and the regular Red Shirts. Last night I discovered the orange X shooting the Kett red shirts in the back. Two things seem to help increase the odds of off host weak point kills: Neither you or the enemy can be moving. I normally circle strafe as a matter of habit from playing Dust 514. As soon as I stopped moving the chances of getting a weak point kill went up.
