My hometown has become pretty much the place-to-be in the recent years, which resulted in a sudden increase in American fastfood operators.
We've had McDonald's, Burger King, KFC, Domino's Pizza, and Subway for ages now, with Starbuck's added a few years ago.
Now there's a Taco Bell (is that any good?) downtown, Dunkin' Donuts will be opening soon, and something called "Five Guys". I've also heard we're getting a Wendy's.
So despite everyone's opinion I actually like the crap they serve there, occasionally. I like the Burger King's hamburgers, I like coffee from Starbucks, etc.
I also like good food and stuff (there isn't much I don't like in fact) from foreign cuisine, but also traditional Dutch recipes like Boerenkool...
Not just the fastfood and coffee, American craftbeers also got a surge in popularity lately. I used to think American beer was all crap like the stuff you call "BUD", but I was gladly mistaken.
Any thoughts? Naysayers? People who actually agree?

Chic-Fil-A actually has very good lemonade, both diet and regular. The grilled chicken sandwich is also good. Arby's Jamocha shakes are delicious. I know people really rag on Subway, but they are always very generous with their vegetables for any sandwich or salad I order. Which is nice. Luckily for my waistline, Krystal has discontinued their lemon meringue pie. Hardee's has really good sausage biscuits (this will make no sense to the Brits here). KFC fries a tasty chicken. McDonald's used to have good fries, but lately all they have going for them is price. Which is sad. Taco Bell is viewed by my alcoholic friends as 'drunk food'. It's open late and it's cheap. The Five Guys near us is very good and has excellent french fries (as long as you aren't allergic to peanuts). Dunkin Donuts makes their donuts from frozen. Tim Horton's is three times better. Opinions are divided on Krispy Kreme. People either seem to really love them (I am one such) or really do not.

Fast food tastes like shit in America in my opinion. The quality of ingredients has deteriorated over the years.
Even the highly praised 5 Guys was nothing special; why would it be when they dump a ton of fries in your cup and bag. The fries were very bland.
I get food delivered locally from restaurants on Grub Hub.
My favorite restaurant has fries that are THE BEST. Old Bay or Lemon Pepper seasoning. DELICIOUS.

Damn, I was hoping to inb4 Seb's inconcievable Taco Bell fetish. Sadly I was too late. Hopefully it's not too late for you. Stay away from that stuff. You'd be better off eating xenomorph dongs.
Otherwise,
I am sincerely jealous of you West Coasters for having In-N-Out Burger. I don't how, I don't know why, but the one I had in Vegas is the best fast food burger I've ever had. What do you lace it with? And why do you not come east (and North, to Canada)? Tell me!!
Otherwise, Whoppers are my choice, based on what I can actually get locally. It's a solid burger, as far as fast food goes. Has a proper patty that actually seems grilled as opposed to heat lamp'd. Some say Harvey's has that too, but fuck Harvey's. Overpriced nonsense.
Also KFC > Popeye's.
Wendy's has good bacon on their burgers.
That is all.

KFC has the worst fries known to man kind, however they also have the best gravy known to man kind so I dump the great gravey over the limp, greasy fries and it all works out.
I'm also enraged that KFC changed their slaw recipe and look. I want my soylent green slaw!!!!!
McDonalds imo does have good fries.

I'm a huge fan of BK. My hometown never had one, until one year after I left. The region where I live now... well, it's mixed. They closed the best BK two years ago because they had issues with the franchiser. The building is still empty btw Much easier to get to McDonald's but... ugh, just not mine. The next KFC is a 40 minutes drive away and I love to go there. Also I heard that Five Guys opens up in Germany. I am pretty sure - as I live in a rural-ish area with smaller towns around - it will take years until I will get my first Five Guys burger, but I'm looking forward to it So yeah, American Fastfood!

I basically make everything myself, so I dont usually eat stuff like this When I do, its hard to find something which a) is vegetarian, and doesnt leave a horrible grease in the back of my throat... but the salads and stuff are always just so bad too Im much happier making things from scratch, when my fiancée wants a hamburger I make everything myself including the brioche hamburger bun When we want nachos, I make my own tortillas and use them to make tortilla chips, when we have pizza on a Saturday I always make it... I dont really have much reason to go out and eat unhealthy food

Hardee's has really good sausage biscuits (this will make no sense to the Brits here). I'm no Brit, but sausage biscuits? I like sausages, and cookies, but they seem like two completely different things... Peanuts in French fries? KFC has the worst fries known to man kind, however they also have the best gravy known to man kind so I dump the great gravey over the limp, greasy fries and it all works out. Well, pouring gravy on fries is not (yet) a custom in the Netherlands. We just dip them in a mayonaise derivate (which is apparently hilarious according to Pulp Fiction). We also dip them in other sauces as people please, like ketchup, and PEANUT SAUCE, etc... EDIT: On the other hand there's this gross stuff called "Kapsalon" (barber shop), which has seen a recent surge in popularity around here. It might suit the taste of Canadians with their poutine, all greasy fries and all: I agree that McDonald's fries are better than KFC's (or Burger King's by the way). They're far from being the best fries ever, since they're not made out of fresh potatoes and stuff, but for a fastfood restaurant I can forgive them. McDonald's in the Netherlands serve something called 'Boerenfriet'. Which are thicker than their regular French fries and still have potato peel, I like them personally: I must say, I need to try this soon enough. Looks interesting! Damn, I was hoping to inb4 Seb's inconcievable Taco Bell fetish. Sadly I was too late. Hopefully it's not too late for you. Stay away from that stuff. You'd be better off eating xenomorph dongs. Thanks for the warning I cannot get enough of their cheese+bacon double whoppers

Actually have a pact with one of my best friends - We are not to eat at any fast food place ever again, unless its a local business and not part of some big corporation. Had that pact for 9 years now, and never felt better.

Translating from Britspeak to USspeak, what they call biscuits, we call cookies. Regionally, here in the Southern US, biscuits are what the Brits would call rolls. But they are rolls made with leaveners, rather than yeast, and are very short. They are typically seen as being savoury rather than sweet. Five Guys fry their potatoes in peanut oil. They also serve peanuts as a give away freebie to nibble on while you wait for your food.

Like Arby's and so does my cat. She knows when I come home with it. McDonald's Big Mac is good, other stuff is crap. When it comes to burgers, I prefer mom and pop type restaurants. Taco Hell is ok but I prefer real Mexican food which isn't too far. I prefer mom and pop pizza joints but Jets four square pizza is awesome. Chic-Fil-A is good, we finally got some of those up here in the north. They're primarily a southern "fast food".

In Dutch: biscuits (biscuitjes) are a specific form of cookies (koekjes), as in the sweet kind we eat with our coffee/tea. According to Wikipedia, your 'biscuits' are more similar to British 'scones'. I know of them, but we don't actually have a local variant to those here.

Every half year or so I get that craving where I NEED TO EAT FAST FOOD, and yeah, BK's whopper is my favourite. Then again, we don't have any fast food burgers around here besides BK & McD, so I can't really comment on the quality of anything else. I keep hearing good tjings about In n Out, so I would really like to try them! I HATE Subway, not for the toppings, but for the terrible rubbery stuff they sell as bread. Also as a coffee lover, you can't call what they serve at Starbucks 'coffee' (sugar milk with coffee flavour, maybe ). On the other hand, I could stuff my face with Dunkin Donuts every day (I could. But I don't.). In general I prefer fresh food, and even though I often don't feel like cooking myself after a long day of work, I would never resort to fast food. A plate of veggies + self made dip is usually my standard fare in the evenings. Or a bowl of cereal if I'm REALLY lazy!

Whataburger and Five Guys are good. Wendy's makes good chicken sandwiches and Chik-Fil-A has good fries. Everything else is shit (yes, even In-n-Out).
Fast food in general is something I don't eat very often, but the few times I've been able to go to Whataburger while visiting family in Texas, it's been legitimately better than a lot of the standard sit-down restaurants around where I live. I can confidently say that if I lived in Texas, I'd be a 300-pound hamplanet because I'd be eating at Whataburger all the goddamn time.
