This is a serious question. Is it up to players to generate fresh content to play through for the Mass Effect series? The Mass Effect 3 modding scene is quiet but talented and could do with an influx of fresh blood with new talents and goals, and the Mass Effect Andromeda modding scene is gradually growing thanks to the new tools. Should we take it upon ourselves to keep the series alive with new stories?
Personally I think it is, though my desire to has wavered in response to the announcement. I'll be progressing with my story mod for now. I wonder what everyone else thinks.

Thanks for being willing to try. I know Frostbite is tough to manage and the tools are still ongoing, but anything you want to do For what it's worth, I have a mod request. Please if possible remove the teaser at the end of the game about the Quarian Ark, or better yet, summarize the novels I will not be purchasing and let us all know what happened by text email, something actually in game as lame as that might be. Thanks again.

Yes, I thought Frostbite was a major reason for the limited modding content. It's one reason I have no interest in remastering the MET in Frostbite.
That said, I'd love to see content by modders. If we got stuff on the level of Elder Scrolls games it would be amazing. Not holding out any hope for it, though.

Frostbite is a major reason for a lack of modding content though there is a toolset growing for it which is wonderful. The scene is in its early days, but hopefully we'll see some interesting additions in the future such as bringing MP weapons to SP or adding new assignments. I personally am not in the modding scene for Andromeda as I'm working on mods for Mass Effect 3.

I'd say is useless because console players don't have access to mods even though it's entirely possible considering Fallout 4 and Skryim. Though, on ps4 it's limited to game assets only.

It's not useless. There were mods for the MET that left out console users. That's an advantage of PC gaming and why I prefer it to consoles.

Yeah, there is no way that modding can happen for the console versions of the games, but it can vastly improve the PC versions. Mods such as the Expanded Galaxy Mod have done a lot to improve and build on ME3.

I wonder if, for any potential ME:A sequel, it would be possible to transfer save files from ME:A to ME:A2. In this case though, ME:A2 would use the Unreal 4 engine or something. It'd be less of a headache to create a game using that engine and modding would be a heck of a lot easier.

Anyone who is cabals of modding a quest into an FB game is way better off seeking emloyement in the industry, even with the fully moddable games, it took far more time, heart and efforts than was warranted by the fan base reception. Peeps hate on the developers, they are just as happy to hate on modders.

I disagree, not everyone wants to work in the gaming industry and those people likely want to just expand it as a passion piece. Saying that is like saying that if you can sing a song then you should become a singer, when you could just sing because you enjoy it. For me, as much as I'd love to work on a game, I'd never get to work on the game -I- want to make. So, I mod ME3, as its the closest I'll get to it.
ME3 has proven to have some amazing mods, it is just as relevant a place to mod and expand ME for people with new stories as Andromeda is. Hell, in many ways its better, as there is a toolset that can be used to create a whole host of different things.

Remakes for me are the way to go as you can potentially fix some of the issues the original game had. That being said, a ME: OT remake on Frostbite would be a major pain in the ass indeed.
