1) Inferno grenades not showing any flame animation so players can't see when they're inside the damage radius
2) Hydras/Destroyers disappearing before their explosion animation happens (players run into the explosion because the Hydra/Destroyer looks like it has already blown up)
3) Audio completely switches itself off and nothing can be heard until you shut the game down and restart it
4) Headshots not counting off-host (just make the hitboxes slightly bigger to compensate for host lag)
5) Hydras/Destroyers firing rockets/turret blasts out of their asses (they don't turn to face you like they should before they open fire)

Devs have said that sound dropping is a Frostbite issue across games, so they can't do anything about it themselves.
Appearing as a Soldier with basic equipment in-game is a matter of readying up when you're character's not yet visible in the lobby. Next time, wait until you can see your player character in the lobby, then hit enter...

Come to think of it, i've never had the sound cut out in Single Player with ME:A. The issue seems to be with MP only.

Like MP, you have to reboot the game to get it back. Switching to MP or going to the main menu does nothing to fix the problem.
On the bright side, it is very rare in SP, unlike MP, where it seems to happen quite often.

The sound bug is the worst for me, but the "netcode" is still the main issue (lag, off host issues, ...)

I've had it with Battlefront but I played on a rather old system back then, so I always assumed it was that. But there are still reports around the web reporting the bug, so it seems I wasn't the only one. I haven't experienced the sound dropping in MEASP either, btw...

This thread is a good idea. If nothing else, I will be venting my frustration in the future with the following things that need to be fixed before the game is considered "finished": (I play only on PC, and these are my opinions only)
1. Audio goes out mid-game. Happens frequently, and the only solution is a re-start.
2. Cry ammo is totally broken. Documented in another (depressing) thread.
3. Lag and rubberbanding happen all the time, and sometimes change from wave to wave. (Still happens despite upgrading my internet connection)
4. Headshots don't work right, especially off-host. This is a bummer for a FPS shooting game...
All the other bad stuff I can live with, but the items above make the game broken and unplayable. ME3MP is at least still playable.

To me, the off-host lag has gotten A LOT worse over the last week or two. To the point where I don't even want to play matches that I'm not hosting. It feels worse on higher difficulties too, when are are a lot of biotic and tech explosions occurring.
I'll join matches and see dead bodies floating in the air, enemies with 0 HP, rubber-banding like no other, and just general de-syncing. Yes, according to BSN, there is no such thing as net-coding, but it is absolutely horrid in this game. This was NOT an issue in ME3. If it was, it was minor, because I don't recall quitting matches in such high frequency, as I do now (due to horrible host connections and/or improper netcoding).
It's really, really frustrating. Anytime I want to get BSN the benefit of the doubt, I play an Ubisoft title, for example, and NEVER have these kinds of issues occur.

I had one bad game last night (delays up to a full second), but generally it's been pretty good. No serious desync issues, headshots (mostly) working, etc. I've made a few changes, like turning down post-processing to reduce CPU overhead. Also updated video drivers, and turned pretty much everything else off (including Steam). It seems some of the lag is caused by the CPU, and not just the netcode. ME3 was a lot less CPU intensive (and used only 2 cores I believe).

I know not all titles benefit greatly from it yet, but it supposedly reduces CPU-overhead. Like Mantle actually did on older Frostbyte titles...

I'm guessing they didn't use DirectX12 because many Devs aren't familiar enough with it yet and struggle. It would have taken them even longer to release the game if they programmed it for DirectX12. EA probably weren't willing to let them invest time into such an endeavor. Nvidia were also using this game to showboat their tech (Ansel, HDR, SLI). DirectX12 does not play well with SLI.

Nvidia were also using this game to showboat their tech (Ansel, HDR, SLI). DirectX12 does not play well with SLI. Looking at the DX12 games list, it appears the majority of them are AMD-sponsored titles. Coincidence? Speaking of Multi-GPU: it seems that less and less titles work well with SLI and/or CrossFire, despite the 4K/High refreshrate 'fad'... And in case of DX12, the dev needs to put more effort in making this 'work' than before which is both a good and a bad thing. I think you're right that BW-devs probably would have failed making all of it work properly...

Here's an interesting bug I just discovered. For the faction points daily challenges, enemies killed on Platinum count for whatever faction the lobby is set to, regardless of what faction they're actually from. So, on a Platinum Kett game, for example, Observers count for Kett daily challenge points instead of Remnant daily challenge points. Didn't notice if it affects points earned for the normal faction challenges.

Texture flickering (SLI issue)
only happens on FB Aqua map (daytime version only, nighttime is fine)
Seems like a simple, small fix, but it's been doing it since the map released and persisted through patches and nvidia driver updates

It is fundamentally broken. It is shit. From what I've read on the electric internet (you know, the thing the kids use), the jury's still out on that. I tend to find pro and con articles with a more or less equal frequency. But, I'm far from an expert so I can only form an opinion to a certain extent. That being said, my opinion is that no one really knows. I've come to that conclusion because I was unable to find any articles on Frostbite's internal workings, apart from communications from EA DICE itself. And even they are vague. This secrecy would stand to reason, considering EAs attitude towards Frostbite... </preparetobeassimilated> They also haven't licensed it to any company outside the EA Umbrella... TL;DR #dunnoman #thetruthisoutthere
