Well check the key bindings and just change them if you don't like them! On default settings space is used for running/cover etc and i would recommend swapping that to shift (like all games have shift for running so this one is just weird) Shift is the command hub so that could be put on space, so just swapping both The in-game chat is pretty shit usually Also scrolling allows to swap between weapons so that may be useful information that's all i can think that may be useful for now EDIT: also if you want mods look up ME3CMM (it also unlocks console although there are other easier ways of doing that)

I suggest Caratinoid's "Lag Fix", Mgamerz ME3Tweaks, and changing your FOV to 90 or greater. I like 100.
Also, if you want to play the horribly broken Talon Merc on PC, you will have to fix his keybinding. I recommend mgamerz tweaks for this as well, as it is automated and all you have to know how to do is edit an xml.

Is the console cheating??? like I was told it was cheating in KOTOR and that I didnt want it...

Xml is a format used for filling Excel spreadsheets. Any windows PC can open and edit them, and Mgamerz provides a basic tutorial on his site.

Depends how you use the console, it can be used for chat, or restarting the waves when the game lags out etc
But it can be used for cheating as well, like one shot one kill but where is the fun in that? Also its useful if you need to get from your computer you can pause the game.
(but i do admit i did use console command to give myself the credits to get the UR, grinding them was not fun at all. and having all weapons makes the game more fun for myself.)

Hmm it would be also nice if MP was cross platform game (so people using different devices to play the game could play together) Oh well we can at least still dream about it!

Enabling the console gives you access to lots of things, a bad text chat being one of them. So you can enable it and only use that function. You can use this to learn how to enable the console. You can also use Mgamerz's modmanager I think, and it would also let you use the controller mod if you want. Gameplay wise, first and foremost you should learn to reload cancel with the medigel key (though I don't know if you can do it with a controller). You will also need to get used to the higher frame rate some hosts have: enemies will react faster and will be more accurate. And that's all I can think of for now, welcome to PC mustard rice .

The chat is useful, particularly if ME3 doesn't cooperate with your brand of microphone. Other commands can be useful also; if a wave bugs out you can restart it, or if enemies get stuck somewhere you can teleport to their location and forcibly remove them (with your gun).
With great power comes great responsibility! It's not cheating unless you use it for a specific cheating purpose. Of course, simply HAVING console commands will probably be enough for some people to decide you are cheating when you outscore them.

Im not sure my playstation headset is compatible with my pc and either way... i dont usually voice chat not really my kind of thing even if you guys are all awesome i still dont know you really
It sounds useful I guess using it for the chat and fixing things is ok... i honestly wouldnt know where to begin with using it so ill google it Even though my internet currently is going a little faster than it was while downloading SWTOR, it might be tomorrow (ok it will probably be tomorrow) by the time i can actually play... but ill leave it on while im at work and maybe overnight also and try and get playing as soon as I can

I never really respecced them, and now it s too late. So maybe if you find some moves difficult, it s the best time to try other bindings. If u have a gaming mouse, some buttons for gels, ops, packs are helpful

I came into this thread ready to tell you to add me, General, but then I logged into Origin and saw that you already had, ahah.
To elaborate on the thing about framerates and difficulty: if the host is running the game at 60fps, the enemies move on from the Stormtrooper Academy of Marksmanship and learn to consistently land shots on you, but on lower frame rates (like mine) they're as incompetent as they are on console, from what I've heard. Differences in framerate can also lead to lag, though. I don't know exactly how it works, other than that it's all just really annoying.

Just wondering how different the 2 versions are The main difference appart from controls also depends on which hardware you have in your PC, with good hardware you can run the game at much higher frame rates compared to consoles, the Xbox360 and PS3 especially are very old from a hardware perspective and are locked on a very low frame rate. At higher frame rates the game looks better and runs faster and smoother, keep in mind though that the higher frame rate you play with the harder the game gets as the enemy AI is highly affected by the increase in frame rate, they shoot more accurately and more frequently compared to console versions, go high enough and it's practically unplayable.

Yes I looked at the bsners sorted by platform thread and started adding
So... higher fps which is supposed to be good makes the game harder??? ok

Erm my pc is quite a few years old by now so im guessing it wont be so good but a website said I could run it so thats ok... I dont really mind about like graphics quality or anything i just like to play
Low frames per second = stormtroopers
High frames per second = hard
Ok got it

I have the fix saved somewhere, and I think akots also uses it. It reduces rubber banding, which to me makes some "bad" hosts playable for me.
I will look for ya alfonsedode!

I used to run it for a long time. It does help with fps mismatch hosts. But it is useless against true lag. And it can sometimes make the powers miss and shots may go blank on good hosts. So, generally, it reduces the accuracy. Running all the time with it is not advised unless you anticipate some really laggy games. In 2012 and part of 2013 I was using DSL potato connection and it made my life less painful. But since I moved to normal cable with reasonable speed, there was no need for it.

Welcome!
I made the jump from xbox a while ago and I'm really enjoying the feel of the game on PC.
I can confirm that reload cancelling works just like on console with the controller mod and I strongly recommend the mod if like me, you have lost all your "l33t sk1llz" from PC gaming in the late 90's.
