For Bioware's next SP RPG..

Those who fight their own nature and identity have no future.

The Bioware company is systematically abandoning what they're good at, or used to be good at, trying super hard to be something they are not. This can only lead to mediocre results at best. I think Bioware will fade into obscurity if they continue to walk a beaten path instead of doing their own thing again.

I thought that was Anthem right?

I think EA will keep Bioware as a producer of single player RPGs, even if they don't pick back up the Mass Effect IP after releasing Anthem and DA4. Which I think they might, even though I believed there would be no DLC or sequel to ME:A even before the Kotaku article.

Single player games are being made less and less as the years go on, though. We may see shorter campaigns and more multiplayer, or just shorter campaigns and the same amount of multiplayer.

If they make a new single player IP, I think it will do very well if they can get the right people and avoid fan comparisons to ME and DA. That means sci-fi and fantasy settings are out.

There is a small chance that we get one more SP RPG out of Bioware with Casey in charge but i think that will be it unless a miracle happens.

That was a joke, right? Because if it wasn't, I don't know how to break this to you gently.

It was meant more as sarcasm but yeah, more or less a joke.

I go with the online only future. IMO Bioware will never develop a SP only RPG ever again.

we know DA 4 is in development. I'd be shocked if it were an MMO.

That's what I'm thinking.  All the people they're still supporting on ME:A are potential Anthem players.  They're testing out pricing points, and just how much people are will to pay for certain things. 

Honesty when I saw the jump jet type pack in Anthem I thought ME:A might have been a testing ground in general.

Technically true, but multiplayer in Baldur's Gate barely even worked. And in both BG and NWN, multiplayer mode was just the single player campaign in co-op. Not really the same. I don't think any SP content or functionality was cut to include MP in those games. The difference would be negligible or they just would have come out however many weeks earlier.

Anthem, an MMO shooter, becoming Baldur's Gate in space? Even if I thought that was plausible, EA literally said, "This isn't like any BioWare game you’ve played before." Take them at  their word and don't get your hopes up.
