I didn't really like that DLC. Only thing awesome was the Armax arena. Story is kinda ok, rest is just fanservice...

Fan service is perfectly acceptable to me because, to me, that was the real sendoff for the Normandy crew, past and present. Which is why some people use a mod to put it post-Earth. (Not me, though, since I think it fits better immediately before Cronos Station.)

Citadel as the epilogue mod is the only way I play it as it's too weird of a tonal shift for me otherwise.

The Citadel is shown fully rebuilt at some point in the official end slides. The DLC ends up taking place a few unspecified years after the end.

To have everything looking perfectly fine is a huge disconnect from the ending. Agreed, this is a bit of a wrinkle. However, the mod does connect the endings to the epilogue. Instead of the stargazer scene, there is a text, that says that the epilogue (i.e. the Citadel DLC) takes place a few weeks/months after the finale, that repairs on the damaged Citadel are ongoing (or rather have just started) but that some areas were not damaged very badly and were opened for business to a select group of people. It may not be perfect but there is some effort made to mitigate the disconnect there.

I really enjoyed the Citadel DLC but it felt tacked on, I can't think of a single reason why I'd throw a party throughout the entire game.

I really like the "Lite" version of the mod, where you can still do the DLC missions and the whole clone thing throughout the game but just have the party after the ending.

MEHEM is too cheesy for me. I go with JAM. JAM is my jam.

It's not the story it's bothering me it's how they tell the story that concerns me. It's just the whole DLC is very inconsistent with it, now don't give me wrong I love having a good time just as much as the next person, but the way that they designed it it's just so damn silly. Different styles of jokes suit different people differently, but there is no law about not trying to inject some humor into a fictional war story. Regardless, it's still no reflection on the work ethic of the writers. Your accusation there is just a ridiculous stretch. Their humor is very cheesy and really lame for my tastes, and @ least Inquisition got it right when it comes to downtime and humor. And the writers really need to get their shit together because the Citadel is very lame.
