I've played a couple episodes of these interactive stories for Game of Thrones and while they were fun, in the end I as the player simply didn't have enough to control. Given that the story is the biggest weak point (as far as rational, sane criticism goes) I don't know if a medium like Telltale could do the franchise much good. Even if you had the same quality in story as the original ME trilogy, such a dependence on passive story viewing with minimal interaction would make for a positive experience. If they did such a game, they should bring in writers with more actual experience writing for television and film instead of video games and go off a story outline from Bioware. Game of Thrones wasn't one of their best works. They did great things with A Wolf Among us, Tales from the Borderlands, and Walking Dead: New Frontier.

Intriguing idea, but I doubt EA would give up control of their IP to an independent developer/publisher.

No interest whatsoever.
Borderlands was always a hokey, joke-y franchise - even the first one - and Tales from the Borderlands capitalized on that wonderfully. Telltale's usual visual style being a close match for Borderlands' was an added bonus. Tales from Andromeda sounds like it would be a cel-shaded group of people sitting around a table in a space-ship talking about their problems - and high-fiving / back-slapping each other at the slightest success. With maybe some talk about "dreaming," "exploring the unknown" and personal pronouns thrown in for good measure, because we have to make the cardboard characters interesting somehow. Though it could be cheap to produce if they use just one character design for certain species, like the asari. Oh wait... *shudders* Pass.

Even if you had the same quality in story as the original ME trilogy The ME:T actually had an inconsistent story due to the leaving of Bioware writer Karypshyn. ME1 told quite the decent space opera story, ME2 on the other hand was just a recruitment drive (go to this planet and ... recruit another character,) ME3 failed to achieve a climax for the plot. In the end, the ME:T was a fun series with amazing characters, but the story was only good in the first installment. To the original question, while I wouldn't mind seeing a Telltale take on Mass Effect Andromeda, Telltale themselves have taken on too many projects and are spread too thin. Not to mention some of their talent have left the studios. Some of their newer stuff (like Batman or GoT) have been disappointing. Them taking on yet another IP would make me think they don't have the resources to do justice to that IP. So I wouldn't want Telltale to have ME for that reason. BTW, it's about time Telltale updated their shitty engine also ...

Maybe for video games, considering it's an active experience for the consumer in which enjoyment doesn't necessarily have to revolve around the story. Beyond that good for him on some success, but he's nothing special.

Beyond that good for him on some success, but he's nothing special. He's not great, or wonderful, I mean I'm not going to rush out and buy his books. But he was the lead writer for Mass Effect 1 and ME1 had a sort of direction. People speculate there was some tension behind the scenes during ME2 because for some reason he left halfway through and Mac Walters took over, and imo it shows.

No, god, please no.
Not only combat is half the fun in every Bioware franchise, Telltale Games is one of the worst companies out there. They just fool their players into believing they're making meaningful choices, when they truly aren't. If choices are everything you actually do in a game, and they're worthless, then, well, the game is worthless

Dunno if I'd want Mass Effect to get a horrific interface coupled with cell shading on that cardboard shitbox they call an engine. At least Dontnod assembled a game using that formula that actually looked and ran well.

You want to give Mass Effect to a developer that does everything people were complaining about Andromeda with every game they make? I have attempted every Telltale game (aside from the new Batman one) thanks to being able to share Steam libraries and they only made one game I enjoyed enough to play beyond the first episode was Wolf Among Us. Everything else has given me technical issues or nullifies any choice I make in the game. Combine that with them not listening to any feedback about their game engine which even makes the Creation Engine look good for technical problems, I rather Telltale just continue to work with other developers.
If you want a developer to continue to destroy the Mass Effect franchise I rather just EA re-open BioWare Montreal and let them make another game.

EA does not want people even talking about ME. They want it buried and out of the conscious memory of the public. Releasing a ME game, even a telltale game, keeps it in the public spotlight. They want the taste of Andromeda to be a distant memory before they even consider going forward with the ME franchise.
All this would do is piss off the people who wanted single-player DLC. "You should have spent your resources on the Quarian DLC. You had time for this, but not the Quarian ark? Why are you making this stupid telltale game?"
