What do people think of Bioelectric Ward? I have it on my Insurgent, and never really notice it (unlike, say, Saving Barrier). Is it good? Do people like it?

I do notice it, since I often see this energy cilinder pulse up and down around me and other characters, as well as hear a tech 'beep' (it might be a peep) when it happens. I'm somehow always too busy to look at the actual benefits, though. Yet I always take it because of two benefit as well as to bother people who say there aren't enough coop thingies in this game. I think you should always take it for Platinum, as all these little benefits added up are why - for instance - your team can do plathack without stealth characters...

I tried the Close Quarters Momentum build with my Avenger, but found that after using Avenger Strike, I would get downed by those enemies outside of the Disrupting Strike radius. Can't benefit from the 65% melee boost if you're downed. So, I went back to using Bioelectric Ward. That along with a bulwark weapon seems to give my melee Avenger more survivability. I'm experimenting with the melee build again after many months of grenade spamming. Just 3 points in Stealth Grid (I do miss that speed boost) and 5 in Stickies this time around.

I notice it activating, but never really notice it in the same sense as Saving Barrier or Hold the Line - i.e. recognizing I would've gone down without it. Agreed especially re the bold; I use it on both the Insurgent and Exemplar, since the alternatives are the first three ranks of Turret and Barricade, respectively, which I don't find superior to 1-pointing them. I don't think I have it specced on my Avenger, but I don't remember for sure. I never use her on Plat as a matter of principle - too many of them already.

It's excellent and very noticeable imo (although it really should have a visual effect as well). It cuts your and your teammates' incoming damage by nearly half (assuming 0 other DR) for a large chunk of time all by itself.
A must-take on every Angaran and one of the best fitness passives IMO.

I always take it. The talents leading up to it are quite worthwhile (40%increased health cap/regen, power cell count or power recharge, bioelectric ward), and 80 DR amounts to a 45% reduction in damage.
Consider these two situations: 75% Health and 80 DR 35% Health and 0 DR ... who will die faster? Obviously, siphon weapons weaken health regen cap's impact, but it still does its job 1/2 to 1/3 of the time.
On the insurgent and avenger, if I die I did something stupid usually. My exemplar is so low rank that I don't play him.

My Exemplar is also too low rank to play. My Avenger is a long way from veteran bonuses, but she's so good it doesn't matter. I leave her passive defense at 1 though since she is essentially always invisible, so I don't need the defense on her. The Insurgent though is XX and that's where I was thinking about the ward...

Exemplar makes mincemeat out of Remnant and they are probably the easiest faction to fight now, so that's a good way to level him up.

The problem is at rank 1, you essentially have to choose between bioelectric ward and his unique passive. As I've moaned about before, tying skill points to ranks was a terrible idea. It feels incredibly lame having to play with a bunch of missing skill points until RNGeesus deigns to bless us 9 more times. But it's ok, that bulwark Zalkin X will make me invincible on platinum, thanks biower. Edit: Of course, rank 1 without bioelectric ward works fine on gold and below.

I still hate playing characters with only a few cards in them though.
I NEED to be able to adjust the lights!
