Very cool, Techno. This satellite image is great because you can see the expanse of the volcanic field and the extent of one of the more recent lava flows. It looks like the moon Io Or maybe some wilderness on Palaven? I assume you are either a Washingtonian or Oregonian Turian then! I am currently a Washingtonian Turian. Prior to that my family and I lived on Palaven, apparently, or maybe it was some other place, I don't know. Either way here's another picture from our homeworld: A volcanic crater formed by groundwater coming into contact with underground magma. It's amusing to me how this godforsaken inhospitable desert could easily be mistaken for the landscape of an alien planet

I've seen those in person. This is what happens to you when you get hit by pyroclastic flows (and have plaster molds of your body made 1900 years later).

It must be nice to travel so much, I understand the facination with volcanos, they're amazing. I hope you have an enjoyable trip to Iceland, I'm betting it will a wonderful experience. It is really nice, and I'm fortunate to have had parents that both had jobs that took them across the world (I'm a Navy brat), and a military job that had me moving constantly across the United States (and a few overseas postings) which were how I was able to visit volcanoes in Hawaii, Japan, the Philippines, and Italy. Plus, I have a lot of family and a few close friends in the western United States who I visit frequently (mostly so that I'm in range of being able to visit all of these areas.) They also instilled in me the virtues of travel and living with a reasonable amount of simplicity. I don't get fettered down with constructs such as property or real estate or even luxurious stuff. Nor do I waste time and money on relationships that might drain my bank account. There's a trade-off to being able to travel so much, but I'm the perfect person for it. And thank you! I hope you too are able to make it to Iceland! I've never been, but from what I've seen and heard, it's probably going to be one of my favorite places. Volcanoes and places with wild geology/geography and raw nature just draw me more than places of cultural significance. The places that are wild and untamed and presenting of physical challenge and reward. My cousin was a Navy Brat too, her step-dad was posted in Hawaii, Phillipines, Spain...and not sure where else they had travelled but I know she has been quite a few places...and no, I doubt I'll ever get to Iceland...or New Zealand, 2 places I'd like to see but I'm not much of a traveller. I've been to Hawaii when I was a kid, down to California a few times and out to Ontario...but all trhat was years ago. I understand your love for the outdoors though, just going out to Banff is a nice experience, There's just something about the mountains.

That's why no one takes our lady on a date. Things would've been so much better if some asteroid had a crush on Earth.

I live in a city that sits on roughly 50 volcanic cones.. they are dormant for now, but they will go boom at some point. I was up in the snow of Mt Ruapehu about a month ago. I love you Mt Doom. I have also seen this beauty (white island) doing its thing. Sat and watch it erupt from the coast road near Whakatane about 4 years ago.
