I like this game but every time i play it i keep on thinking, what is the point?
In a game like warframe i know that they will continue to support it and continue to add new content and it will continue to be a popular game with many people to play with for a long time.
But with ME:A MP it is only a matter of time before it will die out no? : /
Maybe if they would make it F2P and add some extra advertisement on Origin? ( and not calling it TRAIL!!! ) It would probably keep the game going with a healthy community for much longer no?

I still play this game because I like it and because I'm still able to pug around. Perhaps it helps slightly that I haven't completed an SP playthru yet.
That's it, really...

As unhealthy and unbalanced as it is, it's kinda nice to take the jug into platinum and just tank with high damage siphon guns. So that helps.

Interest in the new characters and guns and my long term goal of XX-ing the Ultra-rare characters between content drops so i'll keep playing between game releases until my PS+ expires next year. As far as i'm concern this could be the last Mass Effect ever or at least for the next half decade so I'm going to make the most of it for the time being while it's still possible to find a game of plat in pursuit of said goals.

A simple word called fun, I know I've complained about certain aspects of the game & probably will in the future, but that is because I enjoy playing it & the things I've moaned about have hampered that fun, I plan to continue playing this game until I am no longer enjoying it.

For me right now, what keeps me motivated is the multiplayer, but behind that, is if i'm truly honest the upgrade cards that I am working towards.
CHARACTER CARDS Common: 240/240 Uncommon: 120/120 Rare: 149/160 Ultra Rare: 91/140
WEAPONS: Common: 50/50 Uncommon: 400/400 Rare: 855/1000 Ultra Rare: 71/680
Weapon mods, i've collected all the ones you get from card turns, but i've not bothered with the ones you get from mission funds.
Equipment: I have got : 12/20 of the available equipment and have much of what i actually want here.
Apex rating is NOT a driving force for me, nor is my position on the leaderboard. Whilst I am approximately 150 at the moment on the leaderboard with over 41000 apex rating, this is not a measure of how good I play, it is a a measure of how much i've played. The only thing i can say truly about my apex rating is that i've earned it all honestly and without resorting to cheating ever. However I am also very aware of a certain amount of CHEATING that some players got up to with aimbots, esp and cheat engines which allowed them to skyrocket on to the leaderboards and to the very high end of it.. gaining 3-4k apex in less than 2 hours is PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE imho without cheating somehow and if anyone would care to explain how that was actually possible in a plausible sense then i'll back down my suspicion on it!!
So for me at least, Where I see it going stale is when there is no longer any goals to work towards. Once you remove the rewarding part of turning over the elusive upgrade cards you are chasing and its just down to playing for playings sake, i'm not sure i'll have the same motivation, or at least not the same level of motivation that I have now while chasing after cards for rare weapons and ultra rares. So once i'm fully maxed out which looks to be no time soon.. then it will probably drop off severely for me.

its wearing off more and more day by day. Was at least 2 hours when I could, now its about the dailies until the "yawn" vibe kicks in. Tekken 7 been keeping me floating. Also, destiny 2 is starting to look kinda nice, and bungie not being EA's bitch gives me hope there will be some quality. Even the jugnuts on the 1st day had me yawning. By the time the next character comes along, I may not even be around to troll you fine folk anymore...

I am not hopeful for anything much from Warp either, a damage over time weapon hit that at best you can split into two and hit two targets with it is not my idea of something amazing. So you hit something with that only to see someone else waltz in at the last second and kill the last 1% of it with a lucky hip-shot and then get xxxxxxx killed xxxxxxxxxx.
I think we've seen the best of the bunch for the new characters already with the Juggernaut tbh.

Support for ME3:MP ran out over 4 years ago, so why do I still play it with a maxed manifest? It seems totally pointless, doesn't it? Everything achieved, nothing left. Why? Because it is still a lot of fun when playing together with friends. Same with MEA:MP. Me and my friends are still having a blast playing and experimenting with kits and guns, and we're not likely to stop any time soon. Just got a newbie to join us this week and he enjoys it, too. As long as you're having fun, it's ok

It is still fun for me. My goal is to solo the highest possible difficulty with the worst character. Builds are more important to me then level of weapon.
At my advance age and E.A. track record, this maybe my final Mass Effect game. Might as well enjoy it.

I'd like to unlock the Kishock, Shorty and Shilesh just to see how they feel. Unfortunately, this would require more time than I can afford to spend on gaming at the moment. By winter I may have more time, but I'll probably spend more in ME3.

Had a buddy just buy the game earlier this week. We completed five Gold missions with full extractions on my stream last night. Obviously I'm showing him the ropes, and giving build suggestions for characters that are easy and effective. It's nice having someone to play with. That and I have to do something for my weekly YouTube videos.

This is the same situation that happened with ME3 MP. After the support ended, I kept playing to rank up the weapons and characters I wanted, but eventually I got bored, and the lack of support and game bugs didn't help. That's when I found Warframe, which I played regularly for 2 years until ME:A came out. Warframe is a free-to-play coop game, but they have continuously improved it over time with new free content, and they report and fix bugs. They also have a very active and thriving forum. After 3 years, they are still increasing the player count. Last month there was a Saturday night with over 60,000 players on at the same time.
I am playing ME:A for now to get the weapons and character ranks I want, but I can already see the end now that support has ended. I will play as long as I am not bored or fed up with all the bugs, DCs, audio cutouts, and lag. (Note to self: these don't happen in Warframe...)

I think, if I am 100% honest with myself, what pushes me is that I really want to try a Siphon Hurricane or Dhan. Quite lame but we all have our quirks. And the thought of trying Warp in this game eventually when the drip drip blesses us with it. Also, this thread asking basically what's the point of playing kind of reminds me of this funny reddit discussion I captured some time ago:

Continued support and updates are nice but not why I play a game. I play with friends and as long as I'm having fun I don't really care if the Devs are still fiddling with things behind the scenes.
ME3MP was still fun for a very very long time after support ended and a maxed manifest. I moved to playing more Warframe than ME3 because I was having more fun there and eventually we moved to DA:MP for our Bioware fun times though DA:MPs controls gave me carpal tunnel so I had to stop and moved to Warframe almost exclusively. But even though that has constant support, I eventually grew bored of that after 3000 hours, so ME:A to the rescue.
One thing you gotta love about DE if they break something in an update. Do we wait for a month for a fix ? Noooooooooooo a couple of hours usually.
