I believe in 100.000 years humanity will no longer consist of single individuals but one giant intelligence. Basically mankind will leave behind all the burdens of mortality and ultimately slowly turn into, or rather, assimilated by a single AI completely. It will be a slow process since people do not want to give up their individuality but 100.000 years is a very long time. Especially when change happens in generations. I think that is the peak of evolution and any intelligent species with capabilities equal to ours will inevitably end up like that. (If nothing terrible happens along the way) I hate people so thankfully I'll be dead before that. Also I choose dead. But I am people too.

If as a species we survive another 100,000+ years, I certainly see us being in transhuman territory by then. If we haven't completely shed our biological forms by then, by 1,000,000 years for certain. Without having to worry about having fragile human forms, it'll make spreading across the galaxy easier. It's hard to imagine what a "person", if such a concept even still exists, would be like.

Australia isn't 100,000 years ahead of the rest of us. Fuck off sheep shagger Found footage of you at work at the strip club Also...On topic I'm going with hive mind as the only likely outcome at this point - if we 'survive' at all. The only way I could see humanity surviving in - or close to - it's current form would be if our civilisation splinters in colonising other worlds. If the colony worlds lose touch with earth, they may continue in our 'current' form, but I'd consider it to be pretty unlikely.

I don't know that I think there is much of a chance of that. Assuming we aren't extinct by then I think its just as likely we will be... Probably going through cycles of advancement till civilization collapses to be built up again over and over.

People will include AI into the wrong kind of system to try eliminate the magin caused by human error and that'll be the error that ends it all.
That or Windows 10 is allowed to take complete control over world's systems.

likely all of the above except in multiple star systems ....
apart from communism humanity has advanced more in the last 200 years than it did in the 1800 years before that, even the communist regions have accelerated their advancement rates in the last decade to catch up and in some cases surpass their peers.... if we can not start lobbing about nbc/cbrn stuff on large scale its highly likely that within the next 100 years we will develop the ability to spread across our own solar system if not figure out how to travel beyond it, at the moment the major barriers to this are lack of energy shielding and lack of artificial gravity systems.... as soon as we figure out those things the rest will become easy, indeed once we figure out those major holdbacks its likely that we will figure out inertial dampening and ftl travel rather quickly allowing us to expand to other solar systems, mother earth will be as depicted in multiple sci-fi series, either irrelevant or draconian but largely unable to flex its muscle across such vast distances, as such some colonies will regress and take time to recover (if they ever do) some will die off and some will flourish and become 10x as powerfull as their home solar system....
I would expect that baring any unfortunate misadventures humanity will exist largely as it has during the 19 and 20th century across vast swaths of space with a few places dropped to levels of the stone age....
we will all be long gone of course but our propensity to violent acts against one another and inability to bow down before draconian overlords will mean constant infighting preventing stabilisation unless of course there is some kind of existential threat in which case we might just drop our animosity for each other and avoid such regressions .... although I honestly doubt it will happen ....
