Nope, unfortunately doesn't work. I can go for weeks without a single occurence, then again have several on the same day apparently without reason.
Not a big deal, though, enemy radar does help a lot.

I turned off Origin In Game, and played 5 games yesterday evening. There were no audio cutouts during the first 4 games, but during the 5th game the audio cut out seemingly at a random moment. (There were no big explosions, combos, or anything happening at that moment that I could see.)
After just a slight amount of testing your theory is not holding up very well...

I would sit on the couch and watch the wandering King place his folding throne down and enjoy the silence of his realm. Good times. I also learned just this past week what KMFDM stands for. I was pretty surprised, tbh - not sure what the hostility is for but, then, their sound is pretty hostile. Weird factoid. I like both, which makes me baby asian girl. I don't mind. |

Had a pug complaining yesterday that he lost his sound again. So, i guess not all of ya know how to fix the sound bug even after all these months (  ). I don't own a console or care to ever own one. But, this is how you fix it on PC. DISABLE ORIGIN OVERLAY. Origin has always been a suck ass client and Overlay has been known to cause issues with many games. This bug was not Bioware's fault. If you don't know how to do this,
You can also do it for individual games. Right click game's box art/game properties/uncheck overlay I don't have Origin-in-game overlay enabled ... because it causes other problems ...
I get the sound bug a lot ... twice in less than an hour yesterday ... once in a pug doing the daily challenges, once in a group of friends ...
So ... there are probably 99 fixes to the sound bug, but this ain't one of them.
That said, even though I have Origin-in-game disabled globally and it does not run with Andromeda, the individual game properties had Origin-in-game checked ... I've unchecked it ... given the absolutely screwed up coding for Origin, I won't put it past them that this might fix the sound bug if Origin-in-game is disabled globally as well as for an individual game.
Let's hear it for belts and suspenders.
If it does fix the sound bug ... give me a week of game play without the sound cutting out ... I will report back to this thread, singing high praises for OP and the sound bug fix. My expectations are low, but I'm willing to give it a shot.
I can confirm, unequivocally, without hesitation, with utter certainty ...
That the "fix" is bupkis ... to translate ... it doesn't fix the sound bug.
Sorry OP, no singing of high praises for you ... your superstitious behavior is ... suspicious.
Keeping in the spirit of other posters, I'll leave you with this ...

Well, OP, your theory did not hold up. I can confirm from my own experience that disabling Origin In-Game does not fix the sound cut-out problem. The sound cut-out problem happens with and without Origin In-Game, at about the same 30% rate. Thanks for the suggestion, but it does not appear to resolve the problem.

I experience a no-sound bug too on PS4 from time to time - granted it doesn't happen very often. Quitting the game doesn't help; you have to switch off the console and turn it back on.
